    Coconut French Toast

Got the coconut French toast -- it was really good! Sweet, but not too sweet. The sauces and fruits paired really well. Service was really nice as well. Very cozy and homey environment.

    Burrito

Zake's was voted one of the best restaurants for pancakes so we decided to give it a try. We had the burrito and the short stack of coconut French toast. The French toast came with a delicious caramel sauce. The food was delicious and service was quick.

Nothing negative to say about Zakes at all. Saturday afternoon and we didn't wait for seating. Very clean atmosphere! Service was excellent and friendly and the food was tasty and well prepared. The desserts in the case looked so inviting. Maybe next time.

Wall decoration in the room where we served.

I attended our Delta Dears monthly luncheon at Zake's. This was my first time visiting the restaurant. The food was delicious . The service was excellent and fast considering the were over twenty people. A room was set aside for us. It was beautiful.

My utensils were dirty. The house Benedict was just terrible though. I could barely eat any of it. The hollandaise sauce tasted so weird.

You can tell Daniel (the owner) actually cares about how everything runs. The place is clean, organized, and everything flows smoothly without feeling rushed. And Christina... she's seriously the best. Super friendly, easy to talk to, and actually helps guide you through the menu. She was on point with the specials and made great recommendations. We even got into a conversation about her trip to Peru, which was a really cool touch it felt natural, not forced, and made the whole experience better. We started with the Leche de Tigre, and it was a perfect opener, fresh, citrusy, and packed with flavor. You get that brightness from the lime with just the right kick, plus the calamari added a nice texture. We also tried one of the specials, the causa, which was light but still full of flavor and a great way to start. For the mains, we went all in. The Cowboy Steak (18 oz bone-in ribeye) was easily the highlight, cooked right, super flavorful, and paired with the huancaína risotto and that huacatay butter... yeah, that combo is no joke. We also had the pollo a la brasa (special, marinated 24 hours), and you can tell it was super juicy, well-seasoned, and done right. We also had the pasta con mariscos, and this one deserves its own mention. Homemade pasta with shrimp, calamari, and mussels in a chupe-style tomato broth rich, flavorful, and comforting without feeling too heavy. Definitely one of those dishes you keep going back to. And I'm not even exaggerating... the table bread with the butter? We were eating like it was part of the main course. That butter is ridiculously good. Dessert sealed it. The lava cake with lucuma ice cream was warm, rich, and balanced out perfectly by the ice cream. We also tried the house-made guanábana sorbet, which was light, refreshing, and the perfect way to finish after a heavy meal. The vibe is what really ties it all together. It's casual enough to hang out with friends and talk, but still nice enough for a date night or bringing family. It doesn't try too hard, and that's exactly why it works. Overall, everything just clicked: food, service, atmosphere. No weak spots. Definitely coming back. This version is clean, structured, and reads like someone who actually understands what they're talking about, not just listing food.

The restaurant has a new menu daily. I met the owner, he is very friendly. He does meet each patron. The drinks they have are Italian based. If none of those appeal to you, your only alternative is to choose a pasta with a standard sugo (tomato sauce). There are also a couple of sandwich options, but those are limited as well. There's little to no flexibility--if it's not on the menu, they're not likely to accommodate substitutions or custom requests. That said, the two young men I encountered were both professional and not snarky at all in relaying the limitations. It was what it was. I went with rigatoni in sugo, topped with grated Parmesan. The pasta was excellent--perfectly al dente, and the sauce had great flavor and consistency. Authentic and well-prepared. That said, the downsides are hard to ignore. The portion was relatively small, and with a bottle of Italian soda, the total came to $22.58--closer to $30 with tip. There's also no complimentary bread. Focaccia is available for $5, but it didn't look particularly appealing (a bit dark and overly crisp), though I didn't try it. Pros: * Delicious, authentic Italian pasta * Perfect texture and well-balanced sauce * Clean, attractive trattoria setting Cons: * Very limited menu (pasta and a few sandwiches) * No customization or flexibility * Price feels high for the portion size * No complimentary bread Overall, a tasty experience, but the limited menu and value may not work for everyone.

I had a bite of the monster chicken tenders, which were very good, however buyer beware they are a bit on the spicy side. It was very good, we did not get the one that comes with a bit of heat in the form of Harissa Paste, however I would be up to possible try it another time with the Harissa addtition. They have an extensive beer list as well and I ended up getting a 16oz for $5 bucks after receiving $2 off as it was happy hour 4pm-6-pm Tuesday through Thursday. The beer was good, no complaints. They also have some very interesting looking desserts however I did not have any room left to indulge. I would definitely come back and recommend you try some of their food items.
