I scheduled Manuel and his crew to do a little touch-up painting on the wood facing under the tiles. I only expected the section in the front of our house, but upon looking at the job they said they would do the touch-up painting around the entire house for the original price they quoted. Bought a maintenance package from them for $435 to replace missing and loose shingles up to one bundle and seal down anything else that is loose. Had two prior quotes that said I only needed about 1/2 bundle but wanted to go through Angie list. Took pictures before and after. Did a great job on the missing shingles but didn't touch multiple spots that were loose and coming up. Didn't use the rest of the bundle. Didn't even attempt to seal the loose ones. Didn't even look. Called them and they're claiming they used the whole shingle bundle but they didn't, and even so, why wouldn't you seal up the ones popping up that didn't need replacement. That's exactly what your deal said you'd do? Don't waste you money. I could've paid a guy from Craigslist $50 to do this. Update- I also called and nicely asked them to come back out and finish 3-4 spots that should've been fixed in the first place but they had no interest in doing so since they already got paid. As you can see from the Owners response, they don't care about doing a satisfactory job or facts. I posted pictures, they posted none. Is it too much to ask for a business to actually do a job they're paid for? With German Roofing apparently so. And they also have no interest in obtaining facts or holding their workers accountable. I noticed a broken tile on my second story roof and didn't have a clue on how to proceed. I used Yelp and found a few recommended companies but I always select owner operated first. I called German Roofing first and a friendly voice greeted me. I told her what I found and she said she would have someone out the next day for a no cost estimate. Sure enough they showed on time and hopped right up there. I was hoping they could do a simple repair or replace but the guy (who wound up being the owner) shoes me the felt underneath was dry rotted and he said it was probably 6 months old. He also said I had a total of 5 broken tiles which they showed me pictures of and on other spot also had dry rotted felt. And to top it off there were several cement caps busted. He came down and explained the proper repair and said they would do all the repairs, replace the tiles and remove and replace all the cement caps for a very reasonable rate. And it would be done by the end of the week. I accepted the offer without getting anymore quotes. They showed up on time and finished in about an hour. Looks great! We had a roof repair after discovering a leak spot inside a room. All of the interaction done with the company has been great. Everyone was polite from the inspector, the office assistance, and work grew. The roof is only 6 years old but a repair had to be done due to builder workmanship. Roof warranty doesn't cover poor workmanship. We felt the products used by German Roofing were better than builder grade. We would definitely recommend the company and plan to schedule a yearly roof inspection prior to Monsoon season. read more

I gotta hand it to these guys, they are good and run a great shop. I'm in the building business and see all sorts of contractors good and bad. These guys are one of the good ones. Their communication was great. They got back with me right away to schedule an inspection for an estimate. The estimate was detailed and very fair. They showed up to the job when they said they would. Super polite guys working for them. They did a great job. Very detailed. They showed me a couple other problems they saw in the roof and gave me an gave me an estimate for that, too. When they were done, they cleaned up so well that they honestly left the place cleaner than what they found it. Love these guys! German Eoofing has done 2 jobs for me. Both excellent quality. Their bid is usually the lowest bid, too. They do what they say they will, are nice, polite, professional, respectful, friendly and on time too. Have had zero issues with them. They clean up, not a single mess left behind. Manuel came to inspect my second job and did me the favor of painting the overhang I could not reach ( was not in scope of quote because at the time my house was being painted). After 20+ years my tile roof underlayment was giving out - I started noticing a few spots here and there. I got three bids (German, Porter, and someone forgettable). I found German through my cousin who used them to do his roof a year ago. I honestly thought Porter was going to get the job but they totally overbid the job. German came out when scheduled and removed all of the tile, underlayment, and damaged wood. They put two layers of underlayment on the roof and put the tiles back on. I wrote into the contract that they'd paint the new wood and the bird stops and the crew wasn't happy to learn that (from me) on the last day. But, there it was in black and white. They finished the whole job in a week. The boss came out the following week to inspect the work and found a few spots that needed more sealant. Bear in mind that I never would have seen those spots so he could have easily blown it off. I appreciated his honesty. About a month after the roof job I noticed some peeling paint in an overhang. I called and someone came out to inspect the area. We both concluded that it was most likely damage from before the underlayment was replaced but he did over to peel back the tile and make sure everything was OK in that area. Again, professional attitude. I scraped and repainted that area and we were right - must have been an old problem. For the most part they were clean, professional, and efficient. They treated my property with respect. We did find a nail here and there for a week after the job was done but I suppose that's to be expected. I would use them again. read more

Couldn't get a roofing company to deal with my insurance. This company helped me and took good care of my roof. I think my roof is very nice! Two small things made the job less than perfect, but overall excellent! First, remove your satelite dish. They say they will remove it but not replace it, but take it down yourself because they work around it. I caught this so I removed it. Second, I wanted to paint the vent pipes and such the same color as the roof (white) but they said they'd do it. I did it myself the next day. German roofing replaced our underlayment in May. The crew arrived every morning at 7am to begin work. They had a trailer to put the debris in and hauled it away every afternoon. I appreciated it was not parked in our driveway for an extended period of time. They cleaned up all the nails and debris before they left every afternoon. We have had multiple rains since replacing the underlayment and our home has remained dry. I appreciated the crews cleanliness and respect of our property. I've used German Roofing twice, and included them in my bid process a total of three times. I've been very impressed with them to date. I used them at my house and my rental property. I've also had theem bid for a full roof replacement at my parents house. Price: They were well under the comtetitor's bid (~20%) for the two initial engagements. For the more recent engagement, the price the quotes for the annual maintenance was the same as the competition, but I had both of them quote an annual maintenance and a full roof replacement price, and German's quote was again about 20% below the competition. Quality of work: German's work has always been very good from what I can tell. I have not done much roofing work, but I've done a lot of home improvement and have a decent sense of what's right and reasonable. Manuel (their estimator) is very able to tell you exactly what needs to be fixed and what they're going to do to fix the problems. Professionalism: The first tiem around, they got out to the hosue within a day of when I called to ask for a bid. The last time, it took them almost 4 days and there was definintely some miscommunication about when they were coming, etc. But Manuel is very quick when he gets there, and their turn around time after the bid is usually good. read more

First off im not a he. 2nd the other company did not start the nect day. As a consumer you can get more than one quote which is what i was doing. 3rd its not only or always about money. Not an honest trustworthy company. I used and found a better company. I would not recommend this company to turn on my water. Do your research. They cant even tell if they are speaking to a man or women. I have notes emails etc. If they are not open at 6pm then they shouldnt tell possible clients that they will get back to them. I didnt even speak to her. So she is going by hear say. There is a much better company out there. Also she is lieing when she said i was looking for things and requested certain things. I will not be lied about. This company lies does not follow through etc. I dont recommend them. Also while i was getting the estimate they worded some information wrong and that is what i wanted fixed not changed. Estemater said he could not fix since he alteady printed the docs and it would have to come from the office. And that he would ne going back and have them to me by 6pm. He said 6pm not me. And ues i eanted to make a decision and eas getting quotes. Yes i kept getting emails from them and they became argumenative and i asked them to stop contacting me. They would not stop contacting me. If im not doing business with you i dont want or need your emails. You dont need my information either. She was rude she is a liar. No call, no show = no chance. Had a scheduled appointment today between 3 and 5 PM. As I said, I got no call and nobody showed up. I waited until 520 PM to call them. The number on their page was redirected to a different number which leads me to believe it was either the owner or the guy out doing work/estimates on a Saturday. As of now. An hour later - crickets. I called three different companies to get a quote on a Roof Repair. I had water stains on the ceiling in my living room. German Roofing was available to come out quickly for a free estimate. Carlos looked at the roof, wrote a quote and explained the necessary repairs. He was very knowledgable and polite. I hired German Roofing on the spot. They scheduled my repair within a week. I never did get the promised estimate from Right Roofing, and another company showed up at their convenience not mine and seemed annoyed with me. So I spoke to Lu at German Roofing who was super efficient and friendly. On the day the work began Fernando came to do the work, with another worker. He too was very professional and friendly. A hard worker the work was completed with matching shingles and with all the right flashings and seals. German Roofing warranties their work. Their price was reasonable and I am very happy with my experience with them. From first contact to the last when the work was inspected no disappointments. I explained that if the deductible could not be covered, that I understood but you kept giving me the runaround and now, want to call me insane and forget the fact I never cussed you out whatsoever or called you ten times. Also remember you called me a cheap b**** because I just asked you to stop giving me the runaround and tell me what you could or couldn't do for me. This is my first time using German Roofing. I got a deal for a roof tune up through Angie's List very fair price $149 for the tune up. My appointment was on Monday 10/3/2016. Carlos, the roofer/estimator, arrived within the window of arrival time that I was given and he called me about 20 minutes prior to arrival per my request. He was professional, worked efficiently, clean, answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. Part of the tune up they check for other damage that isn't covered and they send you a written estimate and photos of what needs to be done. Carlos notified me of the stuff that is need of repair which wasn't extensive, replacement of 3 tiles since the one that were on the roof were cut too small and left gap to allow water to penetrate the underlayment. Lucky no major damage or leak so I wanted to address it quickly. He showed me the photos that he took and the office sent those to me on Wednesday 10/5 with the quote for the repair. Manuel the owner approved the repair for a very reasonable price and they scheduled me for today with him. Manuel called me when he was getting close to my house per my request. When arrived he went straight to work. I requested that he will take photos of the job as he completes and that the office will send those with receipt of payment. I am positive that I will receive photos and receipt per my request in the next couple of days. Dianna from the office is very nice as well, she is the one that coordinates with clients. There is another girl that works in the office and she is the one that scheduled my tune up, she was very accommodating and pleasant to deal with.
