My wife and I decided to eat on the go. We ordered the chicken and fries for our daughter. My wife and I ordered the mixed kebabs with curry fries and drinks. We grabbed our orders and our daughter loved the chicken and fries. We unfortunately got the wrong order. We got two vegetarian kebabs instead of the mixed kebabs!!! WTH????? It was already too late and ended up eating the kebabs. It was okay but wrong order. Not happy!!! Do better next time. I am very disappointed. We won't go there again. read more

If you've never been to German Doner Kebab, you're missing out! The first store opened in Berlin in 1989 and since then, it's become a popular chain in Europe with many locations throughout the world now. This Surrey location is only the second store in Canada to open, with the first being in Ottawa. I was invited to dine in here last week and I must say, I was absolutely impressed with both the quality of the food and the service, despite it being a fast-food style restaurant. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The Original Doner Kebab: This was SO yummy and flavourful! I don't typically eat wraps and that type of food because I find that wraps/pita bread usually get soggy but here, they use a thin, toasted flatbread which was great because it maintained its crispiness and it was still able to hold everything together! They have both chicken and beef doner kebabs - I recommend getting it mixed so you can try both. The kebab meat is carved from the vertical rotisserie and then assembled with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. I did find that it got a little bit salty if you ate the meat by itself so I do recommend asking them to put extra veggies to balance it out. Otherwise, it was perfect. They also have 3 signature sauces: garlic, yogurt, and spicy. My fav was the yogurt one but they all went well with the doner kebab. This was HUGE - I can't believe I finished the whole thing by myself! Flaming Fries & Curry Fries The fries had the perfect texture and were nice and crispy. Both the flaming fries and the curry fries had good flavour but I preferred the flaming fries which had a slight kick as opposed to the curry one which I found to be a bit saltier. Some places are worth the drive and this is one of them! Been eyeing this place for a little while and decided to a make stop as I was craving some really good Doner kebab! And they sure satisfied it perfectly! The restaurant is very generous in size and portion! Very decent for a little over $10. The meat was juicy and my favourite is the bread they use for the Doner Kebab wrap and the sauces! The bread-like wrap has a waffle outer shell that is crispy and fresh! Almost like a crispy baguette minus the bread filling inside! It works really well because it really keep all the sauce and filling inside without getting soaked. This is my 2nd time here and the doner kebab is still awesome. It's their birthday so from October 31 to November 4th, they are offering $5 for the original kebab. If you haven't tried this out, this is the best time to try. The kebab is enough to fill 2 people. The ingredients are fresh, the meats (I opted for the mixed meat) yummy and savory, and the sauces are all good. It's great without the sauce but you get a different layer of flavor with the sauce. And it's nice to try all 3 different sauces and see which one is your favorite. The flat bread is nice. It maintained it's integrity and was able to hold all the contents without getting soggy. We stopped by for some take out. We ordered the Doner Durum Wrap, Doner Burger, fries and chilli cheese bites. The order took 15 minutes which felt really long for a fast food restaurant. We did not have the option to customize toppings. Unfortunately, my date hates anything with onions and both mains contained onions. It made the meal not as enjoyable and he could not eat my wrap at all. He took one bite and spat it out. The veggie mix in the wrap had onions. He was able to take the onions out of the burger. The fries were average. The chilli cheese bites were alright. There were bits of jalapeño to give it a spicy kick. I just ate the wrap. I was already underwhelmed with how the meal was going and it just tasted average. There are other options in the area that we will return to instead. Overall, the meal was just okay. Maybe they will allow more customization later on? The restaurant was busy so it seems like a lot of people were enjoying their meals more than us. Prices were a bit on the higher side for fast food. Ordered through door dash. Waited an hour and door dashed called me and told me that the restaurant gave the order to the wrong driver and then refused to make another order. Called the restaurant and they told me door dash picked it up and asked for it with my name so I should complain to door dash not them. I found the girl quite defensive and rude. They chose to use doordash, they should care if the customer is happy regardless of the delivery company. Now whether doordash is lying or the restaurant is... I dont know but I dont really care. Delicious! Something definitely special and unique. I'm not usually a fan of donairs with a sweet sauce like Halifax donairs. These ones are a tad sweet with their sauce, but in a good way. It goes so well with the zesty slaw, and the flavourful browned meat. The sauces are all delicious, I like to pour them all in and enjoy a mess of yumminess. Sweet, Savoury and delicious! Definable not your ordinary donair, the tangy slaw in the inside and the fresh flavourful meat which you get a good helping of! The bread is nice and thin which really compliments the other flavours and rounds it out quite nicely. But very different from a traditional donair, A must try! read more
