Wonderful decor , ample seating with enough lighting and screens to read the menu.(u can even scan the code) Mostly everyone comes to take out the food but we always sat down to have our bowl or doner or the amazing sandwiches they have. Quality and quantity of food is good. Its definitely not ur regular doner . Rather veggie and salad stuffed delicious and creamy ones. Order is taken at the counter and you will get your buzzer after that() Drinks variety isn't much. Just the regular coke , sprite , tea Service is fast and its a clean place
Pros: Great service Super clean Loved being able to see into the kitchen Good value Cons: I didn't love the spices they used in the meat - but that is totally preferential. Would go back!
If you've never been to German Doner Kebab, you're missing out! The first store opened in Berlin in 1989 and since then, it's become a popular chain in Europe with many locations throughout the world now. This Surrey location is only the second store in Canada to open, with the first being in Ottawa. I was invited to dine in here last week and I must say, I was absolutely impressed with both the quality of the food and the service, despite it being a fast-food style restaurant. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The Original Doner Kebab: This was SO yummy and flavourful! I don't typically eat wraps and that type of food because I find that wraps/pita bread usually get soggy but here, they use a thin, toasted flatbread which was great because it maintained its crispiness and it was still able to hold everything together! They have both chicken and beef doner kebabs - I recommend getting it mixed so you can try both. The kebab meat is carved from the vertical rotisserie and then assembled with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. I did find that it got a little bit salty if you ate the meat by itself so I do recommend asking them to put extra veggies to balance it out. Otherwise, it was perfect. They also have 3 signature sauces: garlic, yogurt, and spicy. My fav was the yogurt one but they all went well with the doner kebab. This was HUGE - I can't believe I finished the whole thing by myself! Flaming Fries & Curry Fries The fries had the perfect texture and were nice and crispy. Both the flaming fries and the curry fries had good flavour but I preferred the flaming fries which had a slight kick as opposed to the curry one which I found to be a bit saltier. Of course, I got another German Doner Kebab to take home for my family to try as it was so yummy.
Some places are worth the drive and this is one of them! Been eyeing this place for a little while and decided to a make stop as I was craving some really good Doner kebab! And they sure satisfied it perfectly! The restaurant is very generous in size and portion! Very decent for a little over $10. The meat was juicy and my favourite is the bread they use for the Doner Kebab wrap and the sauces! The bread-like wrap has a waffle outer shell that is crispy and fresh! Almost like a crispy baguette minus the bread filling inside! It works really well because it really keep all the sauce and filling inside without getting soaked. And you have to add their secret sauces!! There are three sauces in total and each were very unique and delicious in their own way and adds that extra oomph to the meal!
You have to check this place out! We are so impressed with the food at @gdkcanada, can you believe that they are a fast-food restaurant, but with a healthy and nutritious menu. Everything we tried was recommended by the employee, their service was outstanding and they were very friendly! [ KEBAB ] The star of the night! A fully loaded kebab filled with cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, their 3 signature sauces, and your choice of meat - chicken, beef, or mix. We got the mix to get the best of both worlds [ GYM BOX ] This is essentially the same as the kebab, but without the pita bread and if you want to avoid getting your hands dirty We LOVED their kebab meats, it was moist, juicy and so flavourful!! They also give quite a bit of meat and the portions are big! We can tell that all the ingredients they use are very fresh, you know that taste when you have a refreshing and crisp salad? Yes, that's the quality we're talking about. We really enjoyed all their sauces, each order came with a side of their garlic, yogurt and spicy sauce. Covid Protocols It's very spacious here and they even have dividers between tables! All employees are wearing a mask and your name is taken down upon arrival. The restaurant was very clean, the employees are constantly cleaning their dining area. ---------- PRICE｜$$ 。$10.49 Kebab 。$10.49 Gym Box 。$2.99 Fries (Regular, Curry, Cheese, Flaming)
This is my 2nd time here and the doner kebab is still awesome. It's their birthday so from October 31 to November 4th, they are offering $5 for the original kebab. If you haven't tried this out, this is the best time to try. The kebab is enough to fill 2 people. The ingredients are fresh, the meats (I opted for the mixed meat) yummy and savory, and the sauces are all good. It's great without the sauce but you get a different layer of flavor with the sauce. And it's nice to try all 3 different sauces and see which one is your favorite. The flat bread is nice. It maintained it's integrity and was able to hold all the contents without getting soggy. Overall, an excellent meal for a reasonable price. Staff was also nice and efficient.
2nd visit and not as impressed. The poutine literally had 13 fries in it with luke warm gravy. It's really stingy considering the container wasn't even half full BUT it was tasty so it's a mixed review. $37+ for 1 wrap, 1 original, 1 poutine and 1 drink .... Too expensive! This place will be a far and few between stop over.
We stopped by for some take out. We ordered the Doner Durum Wrap, Doner Burger, fries and chilli cheese bites. The order took 15 minutes which felt really long for a fast food restaurant. We did not have the option to customize toppings. Unfortunately, my date hates anything with onions and both mains contained onions. It made the meal not as enjoyable and he could not eat my wrap at all. He took one bite and spat it out. The veggie mix in the wrap had onions. He was able to take the onions out of the burger. The fries were average. The chilli cheese bites were alright. There were bits of jalapeño to give it a spicy kick. I just ate the wrap. I was already underwhelmed with how the meal was going and it just tasted average. There are other options in the area that we will return to instead. Overall, the meal was just okay. Maybe they will allow more customization later on? The restaurant was busy so it seems like a lot of people were enjoying their meals more than us. Prices were a bit on the higher side for fast food. It was $7.99 for the burger. It would have costed over $10 to add fries and a drink. They did not have combo options when we asked.
Fresh and tasty! Good portion size, not stingy or over the top. Great condiments, meat was well seasoned and I liked the option for the box as I don't like a lot of bread. My husband ordered the original with beef and he liked it also. Flat bread was fresh and not too heavy, flaming fresh cut fries were also excellent. Nice and clean eating area, well decorated. Reasonable price, way better than typical fast food , would definitely eat there again!
This is an exciting restaurant that should be on your radar. Donair kebab, one of the classic ways to roast meat, is very special. And this chain from Germany is offering up real tasty offerings. The way the slabs of meat are seasoned in herbs and spices, accentuating the flavour of the protein, the way they are roasted to a slightly smoky flavour, the way the meat is trimmed and cut to give a great balance of flavour and mouthfeel, it is such an exciting way to savour meats. With their signature sauces, and refreshing shredded vegetables, tucked inside a pancake like dough, the GDK is as satisfying as it gets. For a meal on the go, the Doner Durum Wrap will sure provide stick-to-the-belly goodness. For the ultimate combo, THE BOSS is fully loaded and very popular. Don't forget to download their app. For every 5 mains you order, you can get one free. read more
I ate these leftovers for 2 days in a row, and it still tastes good. Fave part was the generous portion of meat, jalapeños and creamy dill sauce (sauces were served in individual plastic containers even when I had dine in- not sure if this was just because of covid or if this is their regular practice). It's probably the best doner places I've been to. My order: Original German Doner Kebab Doner Quesadilla Doner Poutine read more
