I was suprised to see the low rating for this shop so wanted to comment with my excellent experience! Gerber is contracted with my insurance company so I was worried to come without vetting my own shop. Unfortunately, we have been in a few fender benders in the last few years so have had to utilize their services quite a few times. Each time the experience was extremely positive! I found Gerber to be responsive, professional, and reasonable! Now, I would choose to come here even if it cost more because their work is amazing. Recently I was in a fender-bender and Gerber Collision was EXCELLENT to work with. I keep my car IMMACULATE and it has never been in an accident, so I was crushed when someone turned into me. When I reported the accident, I asked my insurance agency about recommendations of who other policyholders were using in the area for body work and Gerber was one that was mentioned. The accident happened on a Sunday, but my car was still driveable so I went in on Monday. When I arrived, the parking was challenging as their space on Broadway is small, but I took it as a good sign that they were busy with all kinds of cars in all kinds of conditions around. One of the account reps greeted me and took a walk around my car with me to see all the damage. They looked at it from all angles and were very thorough. We had a good conversation (note that this is your opportunity to ask questions and point out things YOU see also). I waited while they immediately prepared an estimate. The wait for the estimate wasn't too long and they gave it to me to review. Once my questions were answered, they noted that I would need to get it approved by my insurance adjuster. They immediately sent it to the adjuster, and I called right away and was able to set up a rental car and leave my car at Gerber for them to begin finding parts and working on my car. I was so pleased with the progress that was made in just that one day. Just know that you, as the insured, have responsibilities that Gerber does not, but Gerber will let you know what you need to do. If you do it, you should have no problems with the progress of the car and the work to be done. My car was done in 12 days. As you may have surmised, I'm SUPER picky. I was worried that because I have a rather rare factory paint color (dark Olive metallic) I was worried that it wouldn't match. To my surprise it was PERFECT. The account rep in the beginning, when walking the car, said they had a really good paint department and that it was a challenging color, but talked about how they match paint and build layers. I was skeptical, but it was not necessary. It is truly an absolutely PERFECT paint match. I can't tell between the old and new paint. The damage was to my right front fender and passenger door. So not small areas, and with the rest of the car not being damaged, you would have noticed if the paint was 'off' even one little bit. Lastly, the passenger door was unable to open as the fender was pushed in and behind it. I asked them to make sure the door didn't squeak at all and was in perfect shape (as it had been before the accident). It turned out the door was not damaged, but when I picked up the car and looked it over before taking possession (they ask you to do that), I noticed the edge of the door was about a 1/6-1/8 of an inch below the edge of the new fender (yes, I'm picky and notice the most minute details that are 'off'). I went in and the office manager went back with me to see it and he said absolutely no problem to fix that. I did have to make another appointment, but they had it fixed in about 15 minutes. I was nervous about the fix as it was SO minor and everything looked so good that I didn't want to screw things up. But I knew it would have bothered me forever if I hadn't gotten it done. They did an EXCELLENT job. It now lines up evenly with the fender, just like before the accident. I highly recommend Gerber Collision. They were personable and professional and helpful in an extremely stressful time. They listened to my concerns and answered the innumerable questions I had, and weren't upset with my 'preciseness':). Gerber Collision made my worst fears come true! I brought my vehicle to Gerber after a hit-and-run and from the start I was clear with them that I was very concerned about a groaning/creaking sound coming from the back of my car when going over bumps or taking wide turns. Throughout the repair process I was constantly called with updates, and every time I asked them if they had been able to fix the creaking. They told me no, and that they could not recreate the problem. This was crazy to me considering I can barely drive my car 3 blocks without hearing the issue. I have my doubts they even drove my car or seriously attempted to identify the problem. On the day my car was "done being repaired", I once again told them I was very concerned about taking my vehicle off of their hands without the creaking problem being fixed. I didn't want any problems with insurance covering it after the shop had already considered the repairs complete. Their response - "I drove the car and couldn't hear the problem, but you have nothing to worry about because our lifetime warranty is even better than the factory one that came with your car." I took my car home and immediately heard the problem again. The next day I call and tell them they need to ride with me so I can recreate the issue with them in the vehicle. They do, and we recreate the issue many times in less than 10 minutes. Following us actually hearing the issue, I think my vehicle is finally going to be 100% fixed! I was wrong. They take the wheels off my car and tell me that since they can't see any damage and can only hear it, insurance won't cover the repair and they will not be able to fix it. They then tell me to bring my car to the local dealership, not tell them my car has been in an accident, and try to get it fixed under my factory warranty. This is just after they had told me their own lifetime warranty was better than my own factory warranty and I have nothing to worry about with their repairs. You can't make this stuff up... I took my car to the dealership but did inform them it had been in an accident. They found that my rear axle is bent, and there is a bushing out of place. I've attached photos of the clearly visible damage that Gerber told me did not exist. Being in an accident is already stressful enough without these shenanigans. Save yourself the extra headache, and probably money, and bring your car somewhere else for repairs. read more

Gerber Collision and Glass has truly been a never ending nightmare. I believe this is the first time in my life that I have really had regrets about being so kind, patient, and understanding as it was completely taken advantage of. In light of time and how long this would be if I shared about every juncture that we were let down, I'll try to just touch on the bigger things that you may want to take into consideration when deciding if you will rely on this company for your repairs. It's nearly unbelievable the number of times they were dishonest with us. Albany's location said they couldn't get the hood my car needed, so we asked them to put the damaged one back on so we could have the car back while we waited for the parts. Over and over, I was told they couldn't smooth it out enough to put it back on. It wasn't till months later I ordered my own temporary hood and delivered it to the shop that I discovered the original damaged hood had actually been put back on the car and they offered I just take it that way for the time being. Because of errors they made, they said they would cover the remainder of the rental car till all the repairs were done. When the employee that told me that no longer worked there, I was informed were not going to stand by their word. After months of issues, when my OEM hood finally came, I opted to have the remainer of the work done in Salem. We really wanted to believe that things happen and that this could all be rectified. During that process they damaged my car twice, one being a dent. When Steven the manager started to have an unprofessional attitude with me and give excuse after excuse, I just wanted to put it all behind me and picked up my car even though the dent they caused and "fixed" was still visible. Initially when I dropped of my car at the Albany location, the young man that did the intake on my car assured me that an alignment would be done as the impact was front and to the left. Almost a year later I found out that I have very uneven ware on my tires "down to the wires". After taking it to the mechanic to have it looked at, he suggested I look back and inquire if the body shop did the alignment after the accident. To my surprise and disappointment, I found out they did not. They told me Geico wouldn't have approved of having it done and to reach out to them. Geico acknowledged it should have been done and reimbursed me for the mechanic work and the cost of the alignment. Gerber refused to acknowledge that they chose not to submit a supplemental request to Geico for the alignment and refused to help with the cost of my tires being ruined. Aside from repetitive lies and mistakes made, this was dangerous for me and my little ones. All I have ever gotten from local staff at either location has been excuses. I fully understand accidents happen or things are overlooked, however, unprofessionalism and lack of integrity are a choice. In light of my experience and the years of stress from this establishment, their response on negative reviews asking customers to reach out so they can address concerns, seems disingenuous as I was told by Bryan Cronk to "Please consider this matter closed". read more

These guys are awesome!! I worked at a dealership up the street, and they always did a great job on the vehicles we'd send over. So when I was rear ended the other day, I knew where to take it. You truly can't tell it was wrecked. Like, I keep pulling up stuff in the trunk looking for something that looks like it was replaced, and it is just all correct. I'm blown away. They took the time to do everything right. By law in Oregon, you get a choice of body shop, so don't let some claims adjuster push you into one of their hack job cheap shops. These guys will take care of you and do right by your car. They really just handled everything. Sam, you're the best! I love the hell out of my car, and it's my doorway to the world. I took my car in to get the body of my car repaired after my accident. They kept me updated throughout the days on how the repair was going and when my car was estimated to be ready for pick up. My car looks new and clean. Like it hadn't been in that accident . They even cleaned my tires and rims. But what really made me happy was that they vacuumed and cleaned the inside for me. They took the extra step. When I turned my car over to them , I didn't even realize I had left some money in my car, very open and visible. And when I got my car back , the money was still there! We took our 2017 Toyota Rav4 here after a recent car accident. Our experience was less than pleasing. The best way I can describe it is by listing it out... It took them an extra 2 days to fix the front end unplanned, (9 days total) huge inconvenience to our work schedule since we weren't able to get a rental. Called us on day 8 saying the car was ready when it wasn't ready at all. My husband went to pick the car up and it had NO BUMPER! Then they said "Oh sorry it's actually not ready", we had to come back later that day...when we did come pick it up it had over spray(paint) on the drive side panels...we had to point it out and they had to order replacements. They argued with me on whether or not the top 2 panels needed replaced. I did not appreciate that, though for some reason they were alot more respectful when talking to my husband about it and didn't argue with him. When I went in to have to the panels replaced the wrong ones were delivered from Capitol Toyota. Not technically Gerbers fault but still another thing added to our experience. FINALLY after this was drug out for 2 weeks all is good now. In the end my car is back to like new and I appreciate that. But it was way too much of an added headache to a stressful unpleasant event as it was. We will no longer be Gerber customers after this event sadley. ADDENDUM TO THE ORIGINAL REVIEW: After sensing my dissatisfaction, Gerber stepped up and made my bumper/fender issue right. I appreciate the cooperative efforts of the Salem, Oregon shop and their courtesy through this process. ORIGINAL REVIEW: If you have a choice, go somewhere else than Gerber if you want pre-loss condition. I live in Salem, Oregon, but I was visiting Coeur D'Alene, Idaho when I hit a deer. Being from out of town, I accepted State Farm's recommendation on where to have my repairs done. When I picked up my car a couple of weeks later, Gerber mentioned that they would make everything right if I discovered something wrong from their repairs with their warranty. When I got back to Oregon, I noticed the bumper was not fitting with the left fender. I inquired how to get that fixed and was told to go to the Salem Gerber facility. Salem naturally tried to have State Farm pay for it, but when State Farm denied it, I figured Gerber would do the right thing and get me to pre-loss condition. I learned that Gerber's warranty only works if they don't have to pay for it. What good is not covering their workmanship? read more
