Ask for Steve!!! This has been our family's auto repair shop (mechanic) forever. It's family owned and they treat you like family. Steve is very honest and his prices are affordable for quality work. You get what you pay for. We just picked up our SUV for smog check required repairs. He squeezed us in since this repair is time sensitive. He's a man of his word and I highly recommend his business. read more

George's Shell Service - Auto Repair Near Me - Monterey Park, California

09/25/2021 Gas prices are over $4.00 here which is expected. I only want to use the windshield wipers because it started sprinkling while driving down Garvey Ave. it moved the dirt around on the windshield. My car wipers just made it worse. The wipers at this station are worn but don't let that worry you. That just means it's been worked in rather than the brand new ones that don't really work. read more

Steve is the best. Reliable service. Honest. Family owned business with high integrity. Auto mechanic services stellar.

I came here before in order to use my Ralph's gas points towards my tank, and it went well. Kind of old place, nice staff. No complaints here. read more

o5.29.14 Ok, it was 10:30pm and I really needed to get gas for my car. I usually go to Chevron but it's a bit farther. Since it was already late, so thought I'll stop by somewhere close by home. I can't really say about the service since you know, it's a gas station...you service yourself haha Just as I was waiting for the gas to be filled, I heard someone yelling from the across the street. Some Chinese guy was screaming at the other car and asking him to get out of the car (sadly, the light happened to be red). So the other car couldn't help but to get out of the car (esp when the light even turned green, that Chinese lady from the other car was standing in front of this car). I guess it was about car #2 scratched car #1. I don't think it was a big deal because they just left after a small chat..but gosh, was that Chinese rude and scary..it really scared me. Lesson learned: don't wait 'til the gas tank to be almost empty before heading to the gas station, esp late at night. read more

The bas reviews are for the gas station. The mechanics and auto repair are great. Honest and straight forward.

I highly recommend them. They do great work and are honest and communicate well. Very friendly service. My whole family goes here we wouldn't trust anyone else with our cars. read more

I've been here many times and have always been satisfied. I'm sure many others have as well who haven't wrote a good review. It seems that those who have had a bad experience here are quick to write a bad review. Maybe it's something that they brought on among themselves. This place is definitely deserving of 5 stars. I've pumped gas here many times and have had my cars serviced here many times and have always been treated with fairness and such professionalism. I will continue to support this business 100%!!! read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER AT S GAS STATION. Don't stop by here to get gas. It was night and I swiped my debit card twice at the machine outside. Both times the card was rejected. So I decided to pay in cash. Surprisingly a few days after i found out that my debit card was charged twice for $75 each time so in total $150. I called the gas station many times and the OWNER, who was very unfriendly, told me it was just a "hold" and that i would have gotten my money back in a few days. I NEVER GOT THAT MONEY BACK. I called him many times and his answer was: i have no control over the credit card transcations. My bank says that if Iswiped my credit card and the money was automatically transferred to the gas station's bank account it means that their pos system is broken or something. Dear owner.. since you kept saying "believe it or not i have no control over credit card transcations" (ARE YOU SERIOUS???????)..... BELIEVE IT OR NOT I HOPE NO CUSTOMER STOPS BY YOUR GAS STATION ANYMORE. AND LEARN HOW TO BE AN HONEST BUSINESSMAN. i MIGHT HAVE LOST MY MONEY BUT YOU HAVE LOST YOUR DIGNITY read more

Excellent service and multipurpose gas and auto service parts location. My family has been taking all our cars to Steve for over 10 years. Fast service, exceptional work and affordable, fair and honest. read more

Strictly for the gas station: just FYI each pump's cord is extremely short so you can't pull the cord to the opposite site which sucks, I had to adjust my car so that it could reach and also, my pump didn't have a full tank indicator, so I had to guesstimate when it was full. Also, not convenient cause there's only enough room for 8 cars and if ones going the opposite way it can be a headache..... Oye go to another station with more space and cords that stretch. read more

Although this gas station is always more expensive than others in the area, I come here because sometimes it is convenient for me. The older asian gentleman is always polite and courteous, and the repair section does very good mechanic work. The 5 stars is for the nice asian guy. read more

This is where I take my car and my mom's car for service. We have been going here for over 20 years. Always excellent care and an up front analysis and estimate of the damages. Quick and easy, close to where I live and always willing to give me a ride to work and from; since I work soo close! Nuff said! Plus they have gas, 24/7 read more

I don't yelp often so this is based on service from a year ago but I had a great experience with George's Shell. I live out of the area and my car broke down while passing through town. The engine was a goner and ultimately it was not realistic to repair but they were amazing every step of the way. read more

Horrible! Horrible Service! It's a gas station. I am minding my own business and pumping gas using my fuel rewards program. The attendant working came outside and yelled at me at the top of his lungs! Just because I wanted to use the pump #3. I didn't even bother him. No one deserves to be yelled at for no reason. Do NOT pump gas at this station. Especially the employee who works at the 8pm shift. He is rude and yells at people with no courtesy. He's a mean person with no customer courtesy. DO NOT do business with this Shell Gas station. read more

We come here every week to top off our cars on our trips to SGV. The restroom is always very clean, and the pay at the pump always works, two of the most important things to me. Oh, and the pumps are fast also. We will continue to come here. read more

I came here on last Sat to get gas and I also needed to empty some trash that collected in my car. The owner comes out and is super rude and tells me I can't sit her forever. Wtf. I was going to give you business and buy some items in the store too but I get this rude attitude. Go here if you want rude unfriendly service. read more

I am on the way driving home to Northern California. I have the same problem with the other person recently complaint charge twice. I should let people in this city aware this place's machine actually charge me twice too. I was stop by here at 10:40 PM July 6th 2015. There was an impolite Asian guy work there and blame me that it was my mistake. A minute later I saw two transaction notifications pop up on my phone. But I know I can dispute with my credit card company. Before I left I took a closer look at there machine which a sticker call "State Seal" there were inspection date by hand writing all gone. Can't read any inspection date at all. I wish I can leave zero star for them. read more

I've had bad experiences with mechanics in the past, but these guys have always been honest which I appreciate. Ever since I found this place I only trust bringing my car here. Good quality work for a fair price. Owners are very friendly and knowledgable. Thank you for the great service highly recommend and will continue coming here. read more

I've been coming here now for over 15 plus years. This family owned gas station has provided me with reliable and honest repair work. I recently had major work done. As always the outcome was excellent and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this place. read more

BEST SERVICE. This gas station has given me the best service yet! They are very accommodating and I appreciate the owner's patience. They are also reasonably priced. I recently got my oil change done and it was very quick! I recommend this gas station to everyone! read more

Some gas pumps do not have a thingy to make it fill automatically. Inside have a fee to use credit card or don't take credit card forgot, I was suppose because Shell is not ARCO . Cheap owner. read more

George is honest and he'll tell you as it is. I brought my subaru in to have the AC looked at, and i told him about my financial situation. he checked it out, wrote down my options, and told me to pick. which i thought it was awesome. the run down was (example prices) new (from dealer) = $800 new (aftermarket) = $600 refurbished = $400 another thing that i liked was that when he called his suppliers, they did not have the part, he then told me that he found another supplier, but he does not feel confident about it because he has never used them before, but if i chose to go that route, he'd do it. he told me how he felt which I think deserves some recognition. although i opted out to get my AC fixed at the dealership cause i'm moving to arkansas, so i needed a warranty across the country, please go get your car needs fixed here. half of the reviews here are about the gas station. yes. its small. but there's a gem here. 5/5 stars for sure. read more

I live 40 miles away but will make the trip since I trust no one else to work on our cars! Steve is honest, reliable, and professional, and his staff is just as awesome! I have to admit that I've tried finding places closer to me so I don't have to make the schlep every time one of our 4 cars need servicing, but for the past 25 years I've searched and tried various others but every time I did, it just made Steve and his staff shine even more! Prices are very reasonable and I can count on the work will get done right the first time. As a business owner I understand the difficulties of sustaining great prices and excellent service and George's Shell never disappoints. read more

They don't take debit cards? I had to use my card at the machine (where the gas pump is), and the cashier ( at 11pm on Tuesday night) asked if I had ever used it before (in a rude tone), I said "no", so he took the gas pump and did it for me. He then LEFT to attend someone else, and ended up over-pouring gas for my car. $$$ Besides that, he was yelling at another customer for some reason. .-. Why do they hire these people??? read more

Great repair work and friendly customer service. I have an old Paseo and they fixed the Air Conditioning by replacing with compressor with a refurbished on instead of an expensive new one, which suits an older car like mine. The owner was considerate of the costs given the value of the car. read more
