George is no Mas. I was taken by how calmly people were here eating at Yolie's Café. What happened to George's restaurant? More importantly, what happened to George? And why are people not organizing search parties to look for George? The other thing about the changing management is the do not accept credit cards. No credit cards! Cash and LOCAL checks only? What's up with that? Did I just step back in the 1950s? Not likely since the building look like it was converted from an old gas station. I and my wife were craving some chicken fried steak. The steak fingers fit the bill perfectly... particularly for a quick lunch! The steak came with two sides.. today that was mashed potato and green beans... perfect, with white gravy. We were on the road towing a trailer, and it was easy to call ahead to order... everything was ready and packed to go when we arrived. And, it was an easy lot to pull through and park in for our rig. If Yelp has a 3.5 rating, I would give George's that. The friendly and attentive waitress will push them to a 4-star rating for me. This is your typical small-Texas-town diner. Nothing fancy. Never lighting quick service. Mostly locals with the occasional passerby eating here. The pros of my experience: Friendly waitress. Quicker than expected service. (Maybe 10 minutes total to get our food?) Above average burger. Battered, crispy french fries. Cheap. Spider Man was playing on tv. The cons: Sweet tea didn't taste brewed. Tasted like bottled or powder mix. Fried fish was below average. Older building. A little run down. Wife said toilet wouldn't flush. Cash only. Other comments talk about cigarettes in the main dining room. While we were there, nobody lit one up. Either they changed up their rules or we were just lucky. Overall, it's not going to win any contests, but for a sit down lunch with many menu options and great prices, this place will get the job done. read more

This is a local hangout for guys that drive big trucks but they also know what's good. Steak sandwich came on bun that was warm, buttery and toasted so it held up well. The best part was the fries!! Don't know what they did differently but they were extra crispy which is the way I like them. They had a sign that said no credit/debit cards but prices were reasonable enough so we left there after 2 sandwiches, Diet Coke and iced tea for less than $20. Staff was extremely attentive and sweet. Looks dicey from outside but a good experience awaits inside. read more

So we are new to Tahoka spent the Saturday moving in. We got up to go to this George's in Tahoka we went in saw the no smoking sign thought it was for the dinning area we were in. Once we got our food more customers came lit up the cancer sticks. Asked the waitress about the no smoking she said it was in the other room behind the main dinning area.! Really how are you gonna make the main dinning area smoking ? Verses the back dinning area. Think if you enter the no smoking you got to walk through the smoke to get there and to leave! That is just Bass ackards people! So oh well the George's in Post does not look so bad now! At least they know how to cook eggs over easy without having crunchy edges and how to cook bacon crisp. Hopefully once the moving is done we will not have to subject ourselves again read more

The enchiladas were exceptional. My dad had a chicken fried steak and he said it was very good. We came back for breakfast and the huevos rancheros were great also. The prices are surprisingly low. I recommend this to anyone unless you want fancy atmosphere. read more

There are not very many options in Post. This place the food was pretty good. Not amazing but in no way bad. Very clean facility as well.

I was here for breakfast at 10 a.m. The fried eggs and bacon were cooked very nicely. The biscuit was delicious but was more like a roll. I was disappointed there was no honey available and there was no butter just that spread made with artificial everything. The jelly was the standard high fructose you get everywhere. The hashbrowns were cooked too quickly and not spread out on the grill so they were too brown on the outside and more like mashed potatoes in the center. The young waitress was pleasant, very attentive and efficient, serving several tables. I would come again except for the smoking. Someone sat at the next table and lit up a cigarette. Fortunately, I was finished and could get out fast. read more
