The brisket was melt in your mouth and the BBQ chicken was moist and feel off the bone. The sausage was not spicy but very flavorful. The dinner rolls are like clouds! And the strawberry pie, brownies and peach cobble and chocolate pudding and ice cream were available if you still had room for them! How it works... you either sign in or let the hostess know how many. The lobby area is tiny. There are seats but you'll probably have to share a bench. They accommodate large parties of it seems up to 12. I kept hearing that number. Lol. On 7.11.2025, I was seated at a a quieter area by myself. Reba took over as my waitress. She is the sweetest little ol' lady! She brought me fresh rolls. Even one to-go before I left. The buffet seemed interesting, but I wanted the 8 oz. ribeye steak ($16.95 with a side & a salad bar visit). They served it in a reasonable amount of time, medium rare. It was perfect. Good fatty pieces to keep it juicy. Reba asked me if I wanted steak sauce. No thanks. Not needed. Before that I visited the salad bar. It's a decent salad bar. The ladies refresh it often and tidy it up. I just don't like the tight fit and the cords in the way on the floor if you have to use the other side like I did. The steamed broccoli with my steak was fine. I had sweet tea to drink ($2.75). All that food for just a little over $21... I'm a fan!

That being said, there were many nuisances for me personally that will not being me back as often as I had hoped. The floors are dirty. Super dirty. The wheels on the carts they use to bus the tables and bring out the food squeak and are loud rolling across the tile. The place gets loud in general so much that it was difficult to have a conversation with the other three members of my lunch group. THE GRUB This is strictly buffet food. We arrived an hour before opening, not realizing the time difference between Texas and New Mexico so we walked around the little mall until opening time. Hobbs Buffet is a former Furr's that has been purchased by new owners who kept most of the menu items, as well as the buffet format, in place. There are still some signage in place that indicate that this was once a Furr's. However, there is an addition of Vietnamese offerings which sets this place apart from a typical cafeteria. The management and employees were very friendly and certainly went out of the way to make sure my family and I had a good lunch. The food is fresh, the portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable with a senior citizens' discount available. They serve Coca Cola products at Hobbs Cafeteria. I will certainly return the next time I am in the area!

Casino provides small paper hand fans for the guest and guest will still be sweating while using the paper fans. It is ridiculous that the casino CANNOT or WILL NOT supply their guest with a suitable room temperature that would allow for a comfortable gaming experience. The carpet is worn in many areas with duct tape used to hold the frayed carpet in place. I heard many older guests complaining about the carpet as a tripping hazard.
