Well I have to say, Grub Shack completely surprised me. The hamburger was cooked well and tasted great. The sweet potato fries were the best I've had. Crispy outside, soft on the inside. The service was good, food arrived hot and overall a great meal. The inside of the dining room has some awesome lighting. First time here, and I like the atmosphere and cleanliness. I ordered beef fajitas, and they tasted better than expected, with well flavored meat and fresh tortillas. Beans and rice were on par, not bad, nothing special. The struggle for me was that the price is too high for the portions on the plate. I spent $22 for fajitas and a soda. That's not too high, if you have enough food in the plate. Unfortunately, I received only two tortillas (seems like you get at least 3 at most places), and they were smaller than average. The onions and bell pepper were perfectly cooked, but almost absent, with barely enough for just one tortilla. My second tortilla was what little meat was remaining and no veggies. I'm sitting here at the table writing the review while considering a stop at Sonic for lunch. It's actually really irritating that I'm hungry after a $22 meal. read more

I stopped here driving through Seminole. The atmosphere is western, pleasing to look at and it is a very clean restaurant. You order at the counter and your meal is brought to your table. There is a drink area as well as a salsa bar. I had a 1/4 pound cheeseburger and fries. It was cooked perfectly and reminded me of the burgers I had growing up. The seasoning and taste were excellent. The fries were very good as well. I can't imagine how big the 1/2 pound burger would be because the one I had was plenty big for me! I'll definitely return to try their other options.... The Mexican and Chicken dishes looked very good as well. read more

We ordered a steak fajita quesadilla and a cheese enchilada, both were delicious. The steak fajita meat was tender and flavorful although there were no extras with it like sour cream etc. We also had the queso dip and the chips with it tasted fresh made. Order the steak finger, as the were "cut daily, with hand breading". Finally got them, something was bad wrong with the taste of them. I believe they'd been laid out more than a day for sure. When I approached the manager with my iffy fingers, she asked me if I wanted something else. I replied that I did not.(based on the Fingers I received) I asked for the cost of my meal back and her reply was, "not gonna happen". Really??? The whole family can find something they like. I enjoyed my Enchilada plate and my grandson was thrilled with his turkey and cheese sandwich. Can't recommend the chocolate cake. The price point vs the food, portion sizes, and customer service are just not it. The chicken strip and steak finger meals are so small compared to how they were back in the day when this was Daily Burger. Not to mention the prices! It costs over $35.00 for two adults to eat here and you don't get what you pay for. That doesn't include any add ins or anything fancy. The customer service at the front is rude and dry. I understand having to pay for a new building, but please, bring the old food back with better service. read more

The enchilada burrito was essentially an enchilada made with a flour tortilla. I got the cheese with green sauce. It came with a side of rice and beans. All in all, it was pretty good. We stopped in here for a dessert on a Saturday evening after an epic failed attempt at having a nice dinner at Perika's Terrace. We had the cheesecake and chocolate pie and both were very good. This place is truly a diamond in the rough. There may not be much in West Texas, but the Grub Shack in Seminole is definitely worth stopping for. Very good burgers, good Mexican food, and the very best fries within 80+ miles. They have a nice atmosphere that is always very clean. It's not full service so don't expect to be waited on hand and foot, but the staff is always friendly. Pricing is not cheap, but seems to be appropriate and is certainly not overpriced. While working in Seminole I usually prefer to eat here above anywhere else. read more

We're in town for work and tried this place. I enjoyed my fajitas burrito smothered in white queso! I actually preferred theirs over many of the Mexican restaurants around here. My husband got a hamburger, he said it was good. Guacamole was good, but very plain, wish they added some pico de Gallo or at least tomato's. First-time customer - found this place on yelp and decided to test it out on our ride back home. Poor service. While ordering, the cashier did not tell my husband and I about the extra charges that would be applied to our meals while she was suggesting adding substitutes. When asked if it was going to be an extra charge or if it comes with the plate, the cashier avoided the question. The manager absolutely only cares about the money (squeezes every penny out of you) and wouldn't refund a portion of the meal that we wanted changed out. $15 per person - one of which was purely vegetarian. We wanted to exchange an item for the larger size (mind you the food had not been touched), but they refused since we sat at a table a minute after grabbing the items from the counter. Make sure you ask for the size differences because they will surprise you with the varying sizes and prices of each item. When one of the employees brought our plates out, she set my plate at the corner of the table instead of in front of me like ALL places do. Our order: - Full order of chicken tenders (sub "spicy fries") - Chips and Salsa - Small Queso (enough for a small child) The full salad portion is incredibly small for $7 +tax. My husband asked for spicy fries (they charged an extra $2 and gave him plain ole curly fries) I'm surprised they didn't charge for refills on drinks. Really not worth your money unless you're gonna go full out large meal - even though the taste of the American style food served here is comparable to a Sonic or a Burger King. Stopped here on our way through town. This place is very clean with some of the cleanest restrooms I have seen. The food was a little pricey, but tasted good.
