Luna's is a Hobbs America institution. Supposedly my dad went to school with the woman who started it up... and something about it running in the family now? Hell, I don't know. We had a bit too much tequila for me to remember much more of that story. All I know is I missed this place after growing up on it. As soon as I gained my driver's permit in high school, it was, "Drive me to Luna's and let's get dinner." The Sizzler is a popular item. This time (8/6/20) I wanted couple of enchiladas and a beef taco. It comes with a side order of beans and rice. The salad, salsa, and pepper included with that meal are all fresh. My kiddos shared a 4-taco plate (all chicken with a ton of cilantro on them) with a side of beans and rice. The salsa had quite a kick, so be careful with little ones and their curious little phalanges. Lol. There is minimal outdoor seating. It's more of a drive-in or grab-n-go type place. Cash or cards accepted. Phone orders available.

Love the sizzler nachos, also the steak ranchero burrito is top notch just add beans to it. This place is a must try

This is the one restaurant I have to go to every time I come to Hobbs. I always stick with the Sizzler or the Sizzler Nachos. The 30 years I've come to this place, my food is always good. Hints: 1. The place only accepts cash. 2. It's a walk-up location. The only seating is outside. 3. It will take some time to get your order but it's worth it. Don't go in a rush.

I had heard of the Sizzler and had to have it. Once I got there and saw the menu, the Suicide Burrito was a must try also. When you pull up, you park and walk up to order. Seeing everything going on, it would be way more efficient to call in your order in advance. The people are super nice, but the food does take a bit of time. Another rookie mistake I made was not asking for extra hot sauce. It is delicious! The Sizzler? It is on the burrito portion of the menu, but it's not at all. It is a crisp tortilla sandwich of sorts. The base is a crisp tortilla topped with spicy ground meat, cabbage and cheese topped with another crisp tortilla. The folks I spoke with thought the meat was mega spicy, but I did not taste that. Using their red hot sauce gives the whole thing a great juicy flavor. Deciding how to eat this tasty, crispy conundrum is up to you. The Suicide Burrito? Absolute yumminess. It is the same meat from the Sizzler with lettuce, tomato, cheese, onion and refried beans. The thing must weigh a couple of pounds. This would be my go to order in the future.

Fresh food. Good people. Prices are reasonable. Been around for a while now, definitely needs to be visited more!

I moved out of Hobbs and any time I go to Hobbs and don't get Luna's I'm so so so disappointed. By far my FAVORITE place to eat.

This place is horribly nasty and I can not believe that the health department has not closed them down. Really bad food and really dirty.

The French fries were the right amount of crispy as well.

RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 4 | Service: 4 | Ambiance: 3 | Price: 4 PARKING They have their own private parking lot. Small lot for a small restaurant! LOCATION/AMBIANCE This Ma Brown's is on the south side of the tracks on Grimes Street. This is a very old-fashioned restaurant. No thrills or frills. A bit rundown, but they use gloves & spray/wipe down the tables well. THE GRUB On their day off (parent teacher conferences on 2/2/2023), my two daughters wanted some burgers for lunch. I wasn't given a receipt, so I'm not exactly sure how everything was charged, but our total take out came to $28. The green chile cheeseburger was great. I desired more green chile, but nothing new there being New Mexican. Lol. Their patties are flavored nicely. Not too greasy. Everything is made to order. You build your burger or the way you want. Their crinkle fries are really good actually - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I opted for onion rings, which were OK. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUBThey offer a kids burger meal. SERVICE Don't come here in a rush! Their service has always been super slow, but is always very friendly. The guy who took our order slipped a bag of Skittles in our takeout order. Random, but I think you noticed how patient my two young daughters were. It took about 40 minutes for our order to come out. MY FAVORITE PART... The green chile cheeseburger! NOT SO FAVORITE PART... The wait. TIPS + Call in orders ahead of time + Drive-through is available

I had the Breakfast Biscuit Sandwich while Mom again had the Sampler. Both were so BIG and delicious. Also, Door Dash, delivered quickly and with great service. RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 3 | Service: 3 | Ambiance: 3 | Price: 3 PARKING There was ample parking on all sides of the building. LOCATION/AMBIANCE It's just south of Walmart on the Lovington Hwy. The holidays are over folks. As much as I enjoy Christmas trees and old menus, please put them away or dispose of them already. Place could use better cleaning jobs. THE GRUB + Spicy Poblano Eggs Benedict (1/8/2024) $15.99... The English muffin was a bit crunchy on the bottom. The Poblano pepper was not spicy at all. The Hollandaise sauce tasted okay. There was very little red pepper, onion, and shredded beef. The hash browns were mostly undercooked for my liking but still edible with tons of pepper and a little salt. + Regular apple juice was good. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB That's why kids choose to go here - the kid's menu has happy face pancake combos with their choice of buttermilk or chocolate pancakes, bacon or sausage, and their style of egg. SERVICE On the slow side. Friendly. Just slow with everything to getting our order, drinks, food, and especially the tickets... Actually we went to the register to cash out because we had been sitting with dirty dishes for more than 15 minutes. MY FAVORITE PART... Breakfast served all day long + spending a rare weekday brunch with my daughters! NOT SO FAVORITE PART... The wait. TIPS - We missed the Willy Wonka (new version in theaters right now) menu by one day, but it looked interesting and sugary. + Kids eat free daily 4PM-10PM. Restrictions apply.
