This place has existed in Hobbs for over a decade and apparently has new ownership. "Big things are coming," according to the menu. Manager gave our group a hard time for asking to add one person to our table, asking, "Is that the real number or should I just plan for a couple extra." The number could be zero, brother, and your restaurant isn't full. Server doesn't know anything about the bar menu. Asked us to pick our drinks ourselves from her server tablet. Wine pours were wildly inconsistent. Whites came in at like three ounces and the red was six plus. When asked, we were told "That's how white wine is served." It's not. Wine pours are standard, regardless of the glass. An old fashioned came as a whiskey neat. Server didn't know that was wrong. Everything took twice as long as it should. Drinks were thirty minutes and the food was an hour. This used to be one of the best restaurants in Hobbs. Now, I'm not sure it's even worth going to. New management is not looking great. Wife ordered a virgin pina colada. He came to the table and stated We don't do that here. No apology. No recommendations. Just a curt dismissal. The servers are not trained. Did not know that a Cabernet was a red wine. Drinks - Bartender has zero experience. An old fashioned was ordered. Received straight bourbon in a glass instead. Wine pours are not consistent. Red wine was about a 6 ounce pour while white was about half that. When asked was told that white us un a smaller glass. The size of the glass does not change the pour. There is no drink menu so the server would read off a lust and expect the customer to remember. I had the soup. Good flavor but only lukewarm warm not hot. Wife had two bites if her egg drop soup abs was done. Again not hot and did not like the flavor. Overall badly needs training.. read more

Very good service, nicely decorated. Ordered their pineapple Paloma. I'm not into too sweet of a drink and this was it. Usually these are really refreshing but the pineapple made it really sweet. Order the hot and sour soup. Had great flavor with the little amount of spiciness and sourness but was not very warm. Calamari with the perfect amount of breading, cooked perfectly and not chewy. Great with the marinara dipping sauce. Spicy tuna roll was very good, very fresh with the right amount of kick. Green chili roll. I personally did not try it, I do not like cream cheese in my sushi roll but others at the table loved it. They stated this is the best roll on the menu ......... if you like cream cheese in your rolls. I ordered the panzit with chicken, it was very salty. If it had less salt I think this dish would have been very good. The noodles and chicken cooked perfectly. Sizzling beef & Shrimp - the beef and shrimp was cooked well but the house brown sauce had a very weird flavor. This restaurant is one of the best in Hobbs. I worked here for only 9-and-a-half months--but I won't be bias about it. My experience with staff was not the greatest but I was always fond of the decor, atmosphere, my co-workers, and the dedicated staff. There has to be some respect there. If you were to work there, I would recommend being on time--on task--and be prepared to be busy or slow. The food is always good as well as the open bar. I also like that there was always ways to interact with the people of Hobbs; unlike other restaurants. The place is not perfect but it's a great foundational establishment in Hobbs. read more

This place has gone so far down it's sad. Yeah, it's COVID-19, but this place should be doing considering it offering outdoor patio dining in addition to take-out orders. The staff is overwhelmed and don't know what the f*** they're doing half the time. They are super slow getting orders out and like a fool I didn't check our order before we left... we had some wonton soups missing. Nearly $130 and they can't get this right? One of my kiddos asked for chicken strips and fries ($5.99). She stopped eating the chicken after about two bites so I tried it. It was dry and tough to eat. Sunday lunch and this was the spot we wanted to try out. We arrived around 1:30 and to our surprise it wasn't at all busy. We stood at the front and waited for the hostess. When she finally did make her way on over, she asked us where we wanted to sit. We opted for a table in the dining room. She left us with the menus and we noticed there was only one other table occupied. Our server made his way to us, and he was very friendly throughout. The menu has a wide selection of items you can order from. They have soups, salads, sushi, pastas, some main entrees, and a variety of Chinese dishes as well, just to name a few. We ended up ordering a chicken fried rice to share, cup of miso soup, one rainbow roll, a lemonade, and some water. As we sat and waited for our food, our server brought on over some fried wonton strips. They were good, but I just wish they would've maybe accompanied them with some sweet sauce. They were just bland. My miso soup came out right after and to my surprise the broth was lukewarm. Miso soup is supposed to be boiling hot and this was not. It was also very salty.. The chicken fried rice was delicious. We both really enjoyed it and glad that we did order it. Our rainbow roll was ok but it was definitely not freshly made. It was dry. The server was attentive and did check up on us several times. We also asked for chili oil and there was definitely no oil in "chili oil," It was crusty and what looked like dried up old chili.. The atmosphere was nice, welcoming and comfortable. Cool bar area and the sign outside indicates they have entertainment. My main concern is the restroom, around the bottom area of the toilet... that needed some serious cleaning/sanitizing. Couldn't help but wonder what the kitchen area looks like. Server was nice and friendly but forgot to include a pen for me to sign my receipt. I come to Hobbs probably once or twice a quarter but not enough to give it a second chance. read more

This was the "tiramisu" ordered this evening. It's some sort of solid as a rock frozen fruit cake with cocoa powder dusted on it for aesthetics I'm guessing. I'll start this review by saying we had the absolute worst experience with our waiter, which is a majority of my review. I have never in my life been shamed for ordering a large amount of food, until this place. We work way outside of town, so it is a rare occasion when my husband and I get to enjoy a restaurant meal. We enjoy taking leftovers home for the next day. So we ordered 2 appetizers, and 3 sushi rolls. Our waiter made multiple comments about our order and how much food it was, along with all kinds of looks. Which normally doesn't bother me, but I don't go drop $100+ to get judged by a waiter. He also couldn't be bothered to fill up drinks or check and see if we needed anything. We went on to order our two entrees which we ended up boxing up to take home. I give the sushi a 7/10. The rest of the food was average at best, a lot of it you could tell was frozen. I won't go back simply because I can spend my money elsewhere with better quality service and food. read more

Restaurant appearance is perfect and very clean. Walking in the door I was greeted by who I believe is the owner or manager. He was very nice and the hostess quickly took me to a table of my choosing. She also was very friendly and attentive. Ordered a martini and modelo. The martini was a little watered down. In James Bond fashion it was Shaken not Stirred so I give them an A for effort. The beers I wanted were out of stock which is very unacceptable in my opinion. You should never run out of what have on the menu. The rolls rice seems to have been made very early in the day maybe even previous day. It's freshness wasn't what I'm used to in Houston but hey it's Hobbs NM so I can't be to harsh. Dessert subpar. Overall I give it 3 stars. Only because sushi should be made to order and you'll have a hard time convincing me that this was made to order. I doubt I'll ever return. read more

Absolutely amazing! They took reservations which was great. Large space with a private room and a lounge/bar area. Really diverse menu. Sushi, Asian dishes, and then a great selection of fish and beef, pork, quail, and even lamb. We had tilapia with shrimp and pork tenderloin. Kids had kids pasta which they loved. Highly recommend this place. My only fix would've been to have better cleaned the booth seats and cook the pork a little less. Otherwise a great little gem here in Hobbs. read more
