The music itself would have been pleasant if it wasn't eardrum shattering. My husband liked his drink. The service was fine, although there was a communication barrier, I blame myself and not the waitress. I think that's about it. It was also not cheap like others are commenting. There is some on the north side right next to the restaurant or in the lot just across the street. There is minimal parking on the south side. It's a busy street so be careful. LOCATION/AMBIANCE This medium-sized venue is located on the south side of town with busy Dal Paso Street nearby. My dad refers to it as the ghetto. Some areas are rundown indeed and some outside work could be done, but it's okay. Inside, the high ceilings, flat screen TVs, Spanish music, and some oceanside vibes invite you to an open-style dining area. There was one lone restroom which I personally hate because sharing with other men is disgusting. It's well-lit inside. While we were there, a live 5-piece band came in to play about 8 songs. The ladies refresh it often and tidy it up. I just don't like the tight fit and the cords in the way on the floor if you have to use the other side like I did. The cutoff at 7 pm is a bit early for dinner in my opinion, but that's when they close. Also, when I just wanted a few items to take home with me to add to add to my homemade taco dinner, a young female employee explained that they had to take the chile con queso off of their menu because "nobody liked it." Lol. I mean, I appreciate the honesty, but maybe just mark it off of the menu and be a little more professional next time. The salsa tasted homemade. The small bag of chips did not. We got two Mexican sodas and decided we were ready to order, since we already knew what we wanted. We both ordered two plates of a 1/4 chicken with corn tortillas. I also decided I wanted to try out their papa asada. (Grilled potato) We didn't wait too long for our food to come out. The chicken was perfectly charred and very juicy. The plate is pretty big. It came with two pieces of chicken, rice, a small salad, beans, and a grilled jalapeño. They do have fresh guacamole and grilled potatoes for an additional cost. The food was delicious and the service was great. This is definitely your spot if your looking for a home cooked meal type of dish. They only sell grilled chicken, so don't go in wanting to order something else!
