I apologize for this long review but my goal is to inform the reader of my situation and what I went through with with George so that hopefully this review will save another person from getting ripped off from these crooks.
I have had back to back issues dealing with George and his staff. I took my car in to have my failed drive drive shaft replaced with a new drive shaft. I was informed that it was ready to be picked-up and did so. The next day, my car was experiencing an issue with the car that had not existed before (an oil leak) - and was coincidentally in the area in the car where the mechanic had done work.
So I bring my car back to George and he immediately gets defensive and says it has nothing to do with the work he just finished on the car. I repeated that the leak wasn't there previously, at which point George asked me to return in two days on Saturday so he could put my car on the lift and take a look at it. George calls me on Monday and tells me the issue is the pinion seal for the drive shaft he just replaced. He then states that it will be $220 to replace and, without my consent, he replaces the seal that costs $10.
I explain to George that I should not be charged for labor due to the fact that the issue did not exist prior to me bringing in my car to get a drive shaft. He explains to me that he noticed the damaged seal and minor oil leak while he had my drive shaft out but felt that it was not an issue he should tell me about when I picked my car up on the first day.
Had the mechanic fixed it the day he replaced my drive shaft, it would have been a minor charge; just $10 for the part while he had the drive shaft removed for the original issue.
So I stop by George on Tuesday and he explains that the seal was perfectly fine when he removed the old drive shaft, when just yesterday (Monday) he said his mechanic showed him the damaged seal and leak when he was replacing my drive shaft. This was not his only lie!
I caught him with a second lie when he told me that the new drive shaft was hard to find because there was only one in whole East Coast and that it was in New Jersey. Well guess what, he tells my mom and I the same story when I picked my car up on Tuesday, but this time it was in Baltimore. George loves to talk, and if you let him talk, you will catch him in his own lies.
George allowed me (the customer) to drive home with a damaged seal and oil leak which he did not inform me of. Which potentially could have caused more damage to my car or worse injury.
I spoke to my brother in-law, who is a certified mechanic and who now currently serving in the US army as a helicopter mechanic, in regards to my situation. He informed me that George intentionally did what he did to get more money out of me. George should have called me and asked if i wanted the seal replaced while his mechanic had the drive shaft apart and noticed the damaged seal and oil leak. But, instead he put it back together and charged me again for labor when I brought it back.
Overall, I am very unsatisfied. I would give him zero stars if could. But, I can say he gets 1 star because at least he washed my car after screwing me over. George was uncommunicative, a liar, and disrespected my need for a reliable fix in a respectable amount of time. It cost me time and money, and I will not return for any more services from this location. read more
