I noticed I had a few chips in my windshield and googled Windshield Repair.......Initially Safelite came up......I ended up looking further and found The Windshield Repairman and decided to go with him based on the reviews. What a great decision that was. Alan was kind, asked to see pictures of the damaged area and gave me a quote far below Safelite. He came the next day and fixed it all and gave me a full guarantee for the work. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM. He is very professional, explained what he was doing and my windshield looks amazing. Thank you Alan!!!!! read more

Highly recommend The Windshield Repairman for fixing windshield chips. We got a sizable chip on a recent road trip and called a few days after arriving home. Alan was quick and responsive, communicated clearly about availability and was able to schedule an appointment within 24 hours. The actual repair was quick, about thirty minutes. The chip is barely visible and Alan provided clear care instructions as well as a lifetime warranty on the repair. He also sealed some smaller pits as a bonus. He charged the originally quoted rate, we chatted a bit about motorcycles, and he was on his way. I don't like calling for repairs, but appreciate a quick and painless experience when I have to do it. That's what I got with The Windshield Repairman. read more

Alan Unowitz was the technician who repaired my Lincoln Navigator windshield. He is a mobile tech. He was extremely reliable, professional and knowledgeable. His repair went extremely well. He was able to fill resin into the chipped windshield and reduce the blemish to almost nonexistent. He also provided a lifetime warranty on the repair. His repair was cheaper than a local competitor. I highly recommend him and his company. read more

Alan is unique in his field of work Honest, knowledgeable (40 + years), and reliable. He is THE person to have do any repair work. Recommended to me by King VW in Gaithersburg. Excellent outcome and - should I ever need a repair again - first person I will call. Highly recommend. And he came to my house. Nice. read more

It was very easy to schedule an appointment with Alan as I had to get the windshield crack fixed before it became un-fixable. Alan kept me informed of his status and showed up exactly on time. He did a top-notch job fixing the crack and so far it looks great. He is courteous, has great expertise on fixing cracked windshield, and the price was reasonable. As a local business I'd highly recommend Alan. read more

I've used the Windshield Repairman, but a few months ago, I had a chip in my windshield and reached out for services again. Alan was on it. We scheduled an appointment and he came when he said he would and again repaired my windshield. The added benefit is the warranty that is given for the work. I even recommend him to family and friends. I will continue to support this in the future. read more

This review has been a long time coming. I got a crack on my windshield somewhere in July, and I was anxious because I didn't know how much worse it could get, or wether I would have to replace it and suffer the expense. I turned to Yelp and found the Windshield Repairmen (thank goodness). He took his time explaining the details, that some other shops may get frustrated at you for asking about. He explained all the pros and cons to different options, and even offered to refer me elsewhere should I need something different. Just all around respectable, hard working, and kind man. Not to mention he drove to me because he's a mobile repairmen which was awesome. I really appreciated your help and now know who I can refer people too! read more

Alan is a super nice and honest man! He charged me exactly what he said he was going to on the phone, and he showed up exactly when he said he would. A consummate professional. Highly recommend! read more

Alan is fantastic. Called him one afternoon and the next afternoon my windshield ping was completely fixed, almost invisible. He's kind and VERY reasonable pricing. Redefines what 5-star should mean. A+, 100, etc. read more

Five stars all the way ! An honest fellow, an excellent craftsman and a very very fair price. Arrived at our house on time and was very COVID-19 safe (really important these days). I asked him to check the windshields of our two cars, and he said one was fine, didn't need any work, the other (Audi All Road) had a 1/4" pit on the windshield--he fixed that promptly and at a great price. Can't see a thing now except the road ahead ! He's a local businessman, not a franchisee, and has been doing this -- and only this--for decades. That's exactly what I wanted. 100% satisfied with the work; thanks Mr. "The Windshield Repariman." See you 'down the road.' read more

Alan was phenominal. He does wonderful work. He can be a bit tricky to get a hold of but he's very fair and very good. You may just have to be a bit patient but it's worth it. read more

After a piece of gravel hit my windshield on the highway, it left a little crack and dent on the glass. I called Alan from The Windshield Repair man and he was able to come out to my house in 2 days. I contacted Alan based on reviews here on Google. What a nice professional gentleman. I had a crack on my windshield and was concerned about my upcoming State inspection. Alan looked at it and gave me his honest professional opinion. The crack was in the inside so it could not be fixed. However, he said the crack is small and doesn't obstruct my view so I may not fail MD inspection. And yes, I passed my inspection. I plan to replace the windshield if the crack spreads and when I do, I will surely contact Alan to do the replacement. Honest guy like him are hard to find these days. Thank you for the exemplary service Alan! read more

Alan, the Windshield Repairman, was helpful and honest and well priced. I have used him twice with great results.

Alan fixed small windshield cracks on two cars (happened 4 months apart). Both times Alan was on-time, called ahead as agreed and did an amazing job. I would highly recommend Alan's company for your windshield repair needs. read more

This guy is the man. Super friendly and he knows his stuff, he's like the Hank Hill of windshield repair (Hank Hill from King of the Hill who knew everything about propane and propane accessories). He comes to your house, analyzes the damage on your windshield, and gets straight to work. As he mentioned, he is a specialist in windshield cracks and dings... I don't think he actually does the replacing of whole windshields. I had a small ding on my windshield that he instantly noticed, gave me some scientific name for the type of ding it was, explained the history of these dings, and fixed that bad boy up. I don't even notice the spot anymore... out of sight, out of mind. So he came over around the time of Snowmageddon 2k10, and noticed the ice surrounded my garage entrance, preventing my pitiful car from getting out. While we were waiting for the gel to solidify on my windshield, he taught me a trick to cut through the inch deep sheet of ice and joined me in breaking through some of it! I'm not saying he's gonna come over and shovel the snow or cut your grass, I'm just saying he was so down to earth and had an honest desire to help. read more

Alan keeps to his promise of a warranty and made a second visit to me today to re-check my windshield's condition. Everything seems to be ok...... read more

Alan was a pleasure to work with, and I would highly recommend him. Most windshield repair establishment do not want to deal with scratches. They only want replacement work. Alan does repair of scratches. I had scratches on my windshield and my driver side window which Alan was able to take out. He did a perfect job. His prices were reasonable and he stuck to his estimate. Without hesitation I would recommend him. read more

Had a 10inch crack in my windshield repaired by Alan. Alan repaired a crack that saved me several hundred dollars over the cost of replacing the windshield. He really is an expert at it.

I'm so glad I chose Windshield Repairman instead of the any of the bigger windshield companies. It's always nice to support local businesses, and I was very happy with the work Alan did. He came out to my house and fixed several dinks on my windshield in 15-20 minutes. I would recommend him to all my family and friends. He is experienced, honest, and overall nice guy! read more

I called on a Friday morning about a quarter-size, star-shaped chip/crack in a windshield, and Alan stopped by within 4 hours and quickly fixed it. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient and has been doing glass repair work for over 40 years. His quote was slightly higher than two other places I called, but I thought his experience and ability to communicate well were worth it. Would definitely use again. read more

Windshield cracked. Called several different auto glass replacement businesses to get estimate of time and cost of repair. Alan came out the same day, he was friendly, had mobile service, and was less expensive than most of the businesses I called. He arrived on time. Replaced the glass quickly and was a very nice and knowledgeable person to do business with. Definitely recommend! read more

Somehow I ended up with a small starburst like crack in my windshield. Concerned that this small imperfection would grow into a larger disaster I searched to find a reliable, decent, and cost effective company to fix my problem. I contacted Alan and within an hour or so, he was fixing my windshield. He politely and effectively explained what he would be doing and what I should expect the windshield to look like after. I will definitely recommend his services to all of my friends and family. It's nice to find a friendly honest expert. read more

support small and professional business like THE WINDSHIELD REPAIRMAN! very highly recommended. alan just left so i immediately posted this review because i was very, very happy with the quality of his work. 1. he did a fine, clean job on my windshield's 1+ inch crack and the crack line is no longer visible. apparently, the one who sealed this years ago did not do a very good job that the chip progressed to a crack. alan said he can fix cracks up to 2 feet! but don't wait til a 1 inch crack turns into 2 feet because that'll cost more to repair. 2. can't beat his price. i contacted other auto glass repair companies that worked on windshield cracks (not chip), like safelite, gerber, etc., and their price was higher by at least $50 than what alan charges. tip: ask him for a discount for cash payment 3. his work has a 5 year warranty 4. he has excellent people skills, prompt, professional 5. he will come to you as he does not have a shop and only does mobile repair work when i called, i was surprised to get his answering service (i usually got this when calling doctors only!) and he returned my call soon after. read more

Although ultimately my windshield was beyond repair and needed to be replaced, the owner still took time out of his busy day to make sure I received the best advice. I texted him a pic and had a short conversation but now I feel better about going elsewhere to replace my windshield (and pay the $500 deductible). I wish all businesses were as service-oriented as this one! I would definitely call again if I needed their services. read more

Alan was WONDERFUL! I had a chip in my windshield and he worked with my schedule to quickly come fix the windshield. He was on time, SUPER quick, and did a beautiful job. 5/5 stars- this man knows what he is doing and does it quickly! read more

Amazing service. I have an antique car and I called Alan to fix a rock chip in the windshield. Alan thinks that the previous owner had tried to fix it himself with super glue or something so it was making the repair difficult. Because the results were not up to Alan's perfectionist standards he tried to not charge me anything. I insisted on paying the full amount because he spent extra time trying to fix it and the results were still excellent to my untrained eye. I can hardly see the crack, but Alan insisted it wasn't perfect. Will definitely call him again if I need another repair. read more

The Windshield Repairman, Alan, was excellent, quick, thorough, informative, and reasonably priced. I couldn't ask for more!

I called to make an appointment with Alan on Christmas day & 3 days later my windshield is repaired and looks great! It only took 3 days bc of my schedule & the rainy weather. I truly believe he would have repaired it sooner if circumstances were ideal. I can barely see the crack & feel confident no one else will ever notice it. He was nice & very professional. I highly recommend Alan. Hope to not need him again but if I get another crack, Alan will be the only number I call. Thanks for a job well done! read more
