The care he gave me was good, but it was in and out. Didn't get to know him very well and no real follow up

These people least care about their patients. No sense of followup nor courtesy of returning the calls.

I thought long and hard before writing this review. My goal here is simply to let others know about…read moremy experience, so they can make an informed decision before coming here. I had a terrible experience with Dr. Kim. Her behavior towards me was completely lacking in empathy and kindness. She did not listen to me, and interrupted/cut me off/talked over me every time I tried to say something, even after I asked her not to. She made very unkind and judgmental comments, such as "And why do you think that's working?" She refused to help when I asked for it. When the appointment was over, she rudely said "OK then let's go" as I was trying to collect myself and my belongings. Zero stars -- do not recommend. Other doctors here may be kind and empathic, but Dr. Kim is not.

I am the caretaker of a lovely 87 year old lady in Renton. Once a month, or so, Dr. Joo visits the…read moreretirement community that she lives in and hosts a Foot Care Clinic for the elderly residents there. Yesterday was one of those days. My lady had an appointment to see him early. Let me say that i really do not like doctors and rarely visit one myself. I have to be almost dead to go. Lol It was my first time meeting Dr. Joo. I found him to be a extremely likable, with a wonderful and pleasant chairside manner. He took the time to talk to her and not about her, as if she were not there. He took care of her problem and gave her a lot of great information to better take care of her health. She left with a smile on her face and hope for improved health. I was impressed with him and will be taking her to see him again in the coming months. Thank you, Dr. Joo, for making our visit a nice one.

When he unexpectedly retired, I had my appointment cancelled and was asked to call and reschedule at a later date as they weren't sure when and who would be covering for him. It took almost 8 months for them to finally schedule an appointment (granted this was during COVID) and when I did it was with Dr Mata. I patiently waited for this appointment and only got about three minutes of his time on zoom. During my zoom call, I let the physician know that I was not okay and that I was feeling way off with lots of side effects of hypothyroidism. He then told me that I could go to any lab and get my labs done but when I went to the lab a week later there were no orders in for this. I have called and left numerous voicemails at this clinic trying to explain this and get help but never once did I get a return call. I did get a very condescending voicemail from a manager, Garrin or Garrit?? But, whenever I tried calling him back I got his voicemail but never got a return call back. I finally was able to reach a "live" person from one of their sites who finally helped me. (Thank you Denise from Hoyt clinic!) In the end, I have decided to leave this clinic and this horrible customer service. I did reach someone at the clinic in Bothell and she gave me the excuse that it was COVID and things are just really behind. This is the first review I have ever made on Yelp, but I was adamant about doing a review so others would be aware of what could potentially happen as a patient here.

During my first visit, she sat down and tried to explain how the thyroid works and etc. However, upon my following visits, she appeared rushed and didn't bother to spend the time with me. In fact, I felt rushed and didn't have the opportunity to ask her the questions that I wanted to ask. On other follow up visits, she would just give me lab results without bothering to check anything else. She basically read verbatim the lab results. These visits were probably less than 7 minutes, in terms of check up time. I was frustrated because she could have just called or emailed me the results but instead asked me to come in so that I would be billed the hundreds of dollars for seeing her for less than 7 minutes. Also, it seemed inefficient and a waste of time. I also asked her to write me a doctor's note to explain to my employers about my condition. Her letter was super ambiguous and basically said nothing. I understand that there is patient confidentiality to adhere to but it basically didn't tell my employers anything about my condition and said that I "may" be experiencing some symptoms. She obviously is treating my condition, why would she say "may"? The letter consisted about three sentences. I was charged about $10 for this "letter." I thought the entire situation was ridiculous since she seemed to try to gauge me on all these unnecessary expenses. She was not the right fit for me. I changed doctors after my fourth or fifth visit. My new doctor emails me my lab results and spends time to answer my questions even though I know she is also busy. There have been times where my new doctor has literally said, "oh you don't need to come in for that, I'll just email you that information." My new doctor also doesn't charge me $10 for doctor's letters. I really appreciate it when doctors seem to consider the patent's best interest at hand. This was just my experience so I don't know how representative my assessment is.
