Well if you are looking for a misogynistic throwback to 1952 Dr. Jensen is your guy. His office smells heavily of cigarette smoke and was generally unkempt dust bunnies and spiderwebs in the corners. He and his staff kept me waiting for nearly 2 hours , the last 15 minutes of which he paced around the office loudly looking for a stethoscope that he never used during my visit. He was hard of hearing, lacked crucial listening skills and frequently talked over my answers to his questions which had very little to do with why I was there . Within minutes he determined that I had been misdiagnosed by a specialist without reading any reports or lab work , told me I was "smart for a woman" and I had no real basis for stress since it is my husband who has to worry about paying the bills. read more

As mentioned, his bedside manner is a little nontraditional, but when it comes to actually fixing a medical issue, he's the best I've found. I'd been growing huge lumps in my neck every other month for about two years, and I'd seen at least a half dozen general practitioners and specialists before I saw Dr. Jensen. They diagnosed everything from stress to cat scratch fever, and their "remedies" and prescriptions would only temporarily fix the problem, if at all. I went to Dr. Jensen, and he found out what the issue was right away, and since his treatment (almost a year ago) the lumps have been gone! I've seen him for several colds and tonsil issues (I was a smoker until recently, so I did tend to get sick a lot). He managed to fix almost any illness up within a day or two, when I'd usually remained sick for 1-2 weeks under other physician's care. He's fantastic. read more

He is my favorite doctor! He heals your sores and your soul. I always leave his office happy and with food! He is just great and so is his staff! Like Thomas says don't go there if you like your doctor office smelling like cinnamon and pumpkin spices, go there though if you want to have a clear, efficient and excellent diagnosis and treatment. He took care of a cyst I had under the armpit for more than 6 years. I saw numerous doctors and dermatologists. All of them failed to do anything but give me antibiotics and topical treatments that felt like putting a bandaid on a wooden leg. read more

I worked for Dr. Jensen for 10 years! Those were the best years of my life. I moved back to Alaska to be with family and I totally miss my family and friends at Dr. Jensen's office. Oh miss my patience's too. I gave hugs and cared for them and after about 5 years later I still think about them. Patience's have been visiting Dr. Jensen for many years. Dr. J would spend time with them unlike most doctor's I've worked for. LOL I would get upset as we would get backed up, but it was because he cares about treating his patience's and will get on the phone and talk to other doctor's and will get you an appt. right away. I miss him and the staff very much. We were like family and you will feel the same the minute you step in. If you feel you're waiting too long, just keep in mind that he will spend time with you as well. He's a "No Non Sense" doctor and will tell you the way it is. Dr. Jensen's office is clearly not a professional Doctor's office. I had one of the most horrible experiences during my appointment. As a first time visitor recommended by my insurance company, I came to my appointment 30 minutes early (as directed by the front desk) to fill out 10 minutes worth of paperwork. Then proceeded to wait 40 minutes (10 minutes past my appointment) to be show to the room. During which the two ladies in the office were yelling back and forth about their personal lives, past employees, and fashion. Once I'm in the room the nurse (who was very nice, friendly and seemed qualified!) asked what was going on. I explained my situation, she asks me to undress, and I wait. All the while, I hear banter outside which I presume is between the doctor and whoever else talking (patients, the nurse?) about lunch, the weather, etc. It only gets better... He enters the room and immediately the nurse tells me to speak up because he's hard of hearing. He starts off with a joke that's not funny and as he is examining me (with my bottom half exposed) says "it looks like you work out." At this point, I'm getting irritated. He moves on to poke and prod me as I tell him it's very painful. I try to sit still (I completely understand that he's doing his job and don't want to slow the process down), but he continues to ask the SAME questions and poke the SAME spot. The answer isn't going to change. I can take pain, but that was absolutely ridiculous. Then it ends with no diagnosis, prescriptions that I won't even use, and a bad taste in my mouth. I'm not a mean person or someone who likes to write horrible reviews, but and I've worked in the service industry for a long time and he clearly looks/acts like he needs to retire. I'm sure for his clients that have been there for 20+ years they love him, but I recommended that any new patients STAY AWAY. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Eric Jensen since 1997. Over the 17 years, my wife and I have always found him to be a straight forward Doctor that bluntly tells you the truth on you first visit; and then gets the issue handled promptly and effectively and doesn't worry about padding his appointment roster. His bedside manner is nontraditional, but who cares, you went there to get well, right?! Dr. Jensen is the best Doctor I've found anywhere is the US; I'm glad to have found him. My wife and I've been treated for Sinus/Respiratory/Pulmonary, Neck/Vertebrae issues and Physicals. We gladly drive the 135 miles one way. If you're an Aviation Buff or an Outdoors person, you'll love his office décor. Yes he takes an occasional puff on a cigar; you probably would too if you were in his shoes; don't let that keep you away if you need an effective change in Health Care Providers. I have been seeing Dr Jensen for over 20 years and recommend him as highly as possible. Dr Jensen's medical knowledge is extensive, especially in FAA certification. He over the past few years he has helped me with Kidney Stones, Hyper-tension and Sinus surgery. He may sometimes be a little direct but he is your best bet for any medical problem. If you're a pilot he can give you the right procedures and get the paper work right for the FAA. Pilots, if you have an FAA issue, see Jensen ASAP and save yourself a lot of heartburn! read more

Doc Jensen is amazing. He isn't your typical doctor that is for sure meaning he isn't someone who is gonna empty wallet and give you a band aid. He tells it like it is. I went in there for knee problems and he told me "well no kidding it looks like you've got a twin attached to your stomach" but after that he helped me set up a weight loss plan to lose weight and help my knees. I would not consider Dr. Jensen professional, and would not recommend him to anybody. It's not professional to smoke in your own office, I don't care how many years he's been practicing medicine, if you smoke it's only right that you go outside and do it. Never in my life have I seen tools so outdated, and I've been to doctors in third world countries before. The receptionist was using a typewriter, I kid you not. I was legitimately worried his x-ray machine would cause more harm than good when I saw it. The room he has his x-ray machine in also has a window in it so anybody walking by can just stare at you as you undress (I had to put up a large piece of paper for some privacy). Even though there was only one other patient being seen when I went it, it took the doctor about an hour to get to me, I'm willing to wait if the service is worth it though (in this case it was not). He likes to barge into the room without even knocking (that's just a courtesy thing in my opinion and every other doctor knocks before entering). He sat down with me and started talking (I went in for a routine yearly check up) and he kept talking about my education and job situation and kept going on and on and on about that. When I tried to redirect him and tell him my main health problem lately was possible insomnia, he said that I only needed 2 hours of sleep every night. He said Thomas Jefferson regularly slept only 2 hours every night, and so could I. He ignored everything health related I mentioned when it came to sleep (I mentioned being sleep deprived for almost 2 years because of a changed environment and noticed some cognitive and memory loss happening more than usual, which can occur if you don't sleep properly for a prolonged period of time). He ignored me comments and said I should be fine. Then he started talking about my reproductive health and if everything was fine between my husband and I, and I replied that it was. I just turned 26 recently and he proceeded to tell me that if I wanted to have kids I should get on that (first of all I know very well the best time for a woman's body to bear a child is in her 20's, however, it is not my wish to do so until I am older and it is not his place to tell me when to have kids). I told him what kind of birth control I was on (Jolivette which is a low dose hormone taken every day at the same hour. If it is not taken at the same time you risk getting pregnant, a lot of women get pregnant while on this low dose pill because of not being careful). He had never heard of this birth control before and I mentioned it was low dose and that I needed to take it every day at the same time and his response was, "no you don't. If you miss a day or so you will be fine". Apparently, even though he had never heard of this pill, the thinks he can give out advice about how to take it properly. If I hadn't known any better, and just listened to his advice because he's considered a "professional", I would probably get pregnant against my will. Lastly, he asked if I recently checked my breasts for any lumps etc., I said I hadn't but would prefer my regular obgyn to do so because I have seen her for many years, had an appointment coming up and honestly didn't want him touching me because my breasts were very tender at the time from my birth control (even just a light touch would hurt a little). Yet, he proceeded to give me an exam even after I mentioned I would prefer not to, I could have argued more and told him to not do it again, but at that point I just wanted to get he heck out. My overall experience was just awful, the place seemed dirty and old, and even though he spent a lot of time just talking to me (more so than most doctors have the time to do) he didn't actually listen to anything I said. He was not much help at all, and it was just an awful experience. His nurses were nice, but even they didn't seem to respect him, and were constantly having to apologize for his actions and words. I think the only reason some people like him is if the patient is a pilot and just needs a quick check up to get cleared for flying. That's all. He really should just retire and not try to do this job anymore honestly. I may sound harsh, but I have only been truthful. read more
