An absolute nightmare. I strongly advise anyone against using Dr Bovee. She is just terrible…read more I went to community health today to get a referral to an orthopedic surgeon and a refill on pain meds for my ankle which has collapsed and needs surgery. The provider prescribed me 30 pills to get me thru the following days until I met with a specialist. 1-2 pills every 2-4 hours as needed. This was on a Friday. The provider said she's electronically send the prescription to my pharmacy and it would be waiting for me. When I called the pharmacy to make sure my order was there they said they'd never received it. I called the community health office and they we closed but the switchboard operator said they had an on call doc they could transfer me to. That was Dr Bovee. I explained my situation to Dr Bovee and she was able to locate my file from my appointment and see that my prescription had slipped thru the cracks due to their new system. Dr Bovee told me that she was only going to approve half of my prescription without reason. I told her that is unacceptable because that wouldn't be enough medicine to get thru the weekend and I'd have to visit and ER or an urgent care clinic to get refilled. I wanted the full prescription, duh. Going to and from doctors appointments is a massive hassle because I can't walk. Dr Bovee told me that half my prescription was plenty, she hadn't asked a single question about my condition. I told her that the pain was F-ing excruciating and I didn't want to get stuck without anything to manage the pain. She told me that she was making a note in my file that I used the F word and that she is no longer authorizing my prescription and if I wanted it I would have to go to the ER. You cannot make this up. This doctor decided that since I used the F word to describe excruciating pain that i was no longer entitled to any pain meds. I had an in person appointment a few hours earlier with a doc who deemed it necessary for me to have a prescription to manage the pain. Community health dropped the ball by not getting my prescription to the pharmacy. Oh well, mistakes happen. Dr Bovee took it upon herself to deny me meds that we're prescribed a few hours earlier by someone else because she didn't like that I used the F word. I thought doctors were supposed to help people. This lady is an absolute joke and I'll be talking to the Washington state medical board on Monday.

I went to see Dr. Bovee and couldn't be more dissatisfied. She was late, not sympathetic, and…read moretotally wasted my time. I am shocked at her level of incompetence. I had to go to another provider who was also shocked at the incompetence of Bovee. I am surprised she is allowed to practice medicine.

Before Amazon took over this clinic it was very good, especially under Iora. After Amazon took over…read morethe clinic has degraded into Amazon barely providing health care to seniors. One indication of Amazon throwing seniors into the waste basket after getting their Medicare money has been the disgusting website for the Shoreline clinic. I've done a thorough review here: https://customernonservice.com/2025/03/07/is-amazon-one-medical-less-painful/ After numerous reports to One Medical and Amazon of inaccurate bus information (saying they could take a bus that stopped 3.7 miles closest and the other did not exit) over at least 6 months, Amazon did nothing. One of these reports was to Andy Jassy, CEO of Amazon. No response. No action. If Amazon and One Medical don't care enough about their public facing content, then that is a serious reflection that Amazon management is not committed to quality health care. For a long time the button for Patient Portal went to a 404 page. The call center staff in AZ are worthless. After 3 reports of inaccurate information on the clinic's website NO action, No corrections. Other communications to the AZ office have been unanswered. Each time I go in there as a patient there is a fresh set of faces. The inability to keep staff consistency must say something about the way Amazon treats staff. This in turn degrades patient care. There used to be full-time MDs in the clinic. Now, as of July 10, 2025, there are none -- according to the clinic manager. The nurse practitioner that was on the website is gone, reason unknown. When in the clinic in the first half of 2025 for a nasty, relentless cough, the nurse practitioner asked another staff member for a COVID test kit. The staff member came back and said there weren't any on site. The bottom line seems to be this: As long as Amazon gets Medicare money, all is fine and patient treatment is, well, an inconvenience and afterthought with token gestures.

She talked to me about all my options, including the non surgical ones, and a few weeks and a few more gallbladder attacks later, I opted to go ahead and get the surgery done with her. The surgery went perfectly, she even managed to get an escaped gallstone cleared from my bile duct during the surgery which I was really happy about since it made it so that I didn't have to have another surgery. Post surgery, she was also great. I had a check up appointment a week later and she made sure that everything was ok, and it was. I also really liked that whenever I had a blood test done she would call me personally with the results, usually the same day but never more than 1-2 days later.

I would highly recommend her to anyone needing surgeries that she specializes in.

During my first visit, she sat down and tried to explain how the thyroid works and etc. However, upon my following visits, she appeared rushed and didn't bother to spend the time with me. In fact, I felt rushed and didn't have the opportunity to ask her the questions that I wanted to ask. On other follow up visits, she would just give me lab results without bothering to check anything else. She basically read verbatim the lab results. These visits were probably less than 7 minutes, in terms of check up time. I was frustrated because she could have just called or emailed me the results but instead asked me to come in so that I would be billed the hundreds of dollars for seeing her for less than 7 minutes. Also, it seemed inefficient and a waste of time. I also asked her to write me a doctor's note to explain to my employers about my condition. Her letter was super ambiguous and basically said nothing. I understand that there is patient confidentiality to adhere to but it basically didn't tell my employers anything about my condition and said that I "may" be experiencing some symptoms. She obviously is treating my condition, why would she say "may"? The letter consisted about three sentences. I was charged about $10 for this "letter." I thought the entire situation was ridiculous since she seemed to try to gauge me on all these unnecessary expenses. She was not the right fit for me. I changed doctors after my fourth or fifth visit. My new doctor emails me my lab results and spends time to answer my questions even though I know she is also busy. There have been times where my new doctor has literally said, "oh you don't need to come in for that, I'll just email you that information." My new doctor also doesn't charge me $10 for doctor's letters. I really appreciate it when doctors seem to consider the patent's best interest at hand. This was just my experience so I don't know how representative my assessment is.
