Wise Patient left me unsafe, gaslit, and nearly hospitalized. They advertise excellence and lack basic competence. I began working with Janna Cuneo as my PCP in 2019 and followed her to Wise Patient Internal Medicine in 2022. She praised the clinic's model. The website promised coordinated care, same-day access, unhurried visits, and expertise in gender medicine. I was rural, disabled, and medically fragile, so I trusted her. That trust harmed me. The decline starting in 2024 was catastrophic. My blood pressure, critical with diabetes and kidney disease, went unmanaged for months. I repeatedly shared logs and asked for adjustments but was told to wait weeks or more. When she was away on one of her many unplanned extended leaves, I messaged her colleague, who immediately recognized and corrected the danger. BP management is basic primary care. Failing to control it shortens my lifespan. Prescription chaos was constant: refills late or wrong, doses increased by 50 percent when we had discussed 10, controlled meds in the wrong formulation and sent to the wrong pharmacy, leaving me without them during flares. In late 2024, I waited weeks for my estrogen refill only to learn she had prescribed unsafe oral progesterone, contraindicated given my family history of clots. These were life-and-death mistakes. In January 2025, I scheduled an appointment to align prescriptions with a new pharmacy and start a prior authorization for a med that keeps me out of the hospital. Despite my planning and over ten follow-ups, prescriptions still went wrong, and I ran out of several meds for a week. They didn't even start the prior auth for 2+ weeks. Staff brushed it off, suggesting I use GoodRx or skip the meds, as if they were condiments. In reality, I was left without life-sustaining medication. It was not just meds. This clinic bungled lab orders, referrals, and disability paperwork. I had to act as project manager to survive. Coordination, supposedly their strength, was nonexistent. Access was another broken promise. Messages often went unanswered for more than a week, sometimes not at all. I ended up booking monthly appointments just to force accountability for labs, prescriptions, and pharmacy info. Even then she failed to show up. In May, during a flare that nearly hospitalized me, she no-showed one visit without apology, canceled another last minute, and called an hour late to the third, rushed after hours, and mis-ordered my meds again. When I documented errors, she falsified notes with "as we previously discussed" about things we never discussed. At the same time, she blurred boundaries with her constant "friend" routine, using fake intimacy to deflect from the harm. This was manipulative, not care, and it deepened the betrayal. When I escalated to Sam Warren, the clinical director, his response was worse. After Janna no-showed me, he did not hold her accountable. Instead he asked me, a disabled patient in crisis, for advice on "best practices" for running his clinic. When I later formally requested reassignment to a safer clinician with interim coverage, his response was silence. No reply, no acknowledgment, not even basic decency. A clinical director who ignores documented patient harm is complicit in it. The impact was cumulative: unmanaged blood pressure, destabilized hormone care, lapses in critical medications, near hospitalization, wasted energy, and emotional harm from being gaslit by people I trusted. Janna loved to talk about "the system," how broken it was, how she was protecting me from it. The truth is that she was not protecting me at all. She became another cog in the system she criticized, incompetent and dangerous. Sam Warren's silence sealed it. Wise Patient claims all kinds of things. What I lived was chaos and abandonment. I've been seeing Dr. Beda for over a year now. Scheduling is easy. I'm able to schedule appointments online, often the same week. If it's an emergency, she'll try to see if she can fit me in sooner. The patient messaging system is very convenient. Wise Patient does membership plans only now. I don't have much extra spending money but I find the membership worth it. As someone with multiple chronic illnesses, it's very important for me to find a practice where scheduling, billing, and communication are smooth and transparent, on top of a provider and care team that sincerely care about their patients. Dr. Beda is great at going over her thought process and explaining the diagnostic tests, diagnoses, medications, and treatment plans she recommends. I don't feel like I'm wasting her time, and I never have to wait long to be seen for appointments. The waiting room is small but welcoming, including complimentary hot Keurig drinks. The examination rooms are always clean and tidy. I like how the equipment bins are organized and clearly labeled. They have one accessible parking stall in the back (press the doorbell to be let in). Otherwise, you'll need to find street parking. Sometimes it can be tricky since it's in an area with a school, lots of restaurants, and construction. If you're able to, I'd try to make your appointment outside of the morning, noon, and late afternoon rush hours. read more

I think the pinnacle of being a health care provider in today's attention deficit world is when you're the topic of a random dinner conversation. I can't remember the last time I had a primary care doctor worth mentioning in a dinner conversation (honorable mention goes to Dr. Carron in NYC), but I'm such a fan of Wise Patient Internal Medicine and Dr. Beda that I found myself raving about her and her physician's assistant recently. Going to see a doctor is typically such a giant time suck that I've gotten used to blocking a 2-hour window on my calendar when I need to do so (usually once a year). I was surprised that everything was so prompt and efficient at Wise Patient Internal Medicine. They are on ZocDoc, so I didn't even have to pick up the phone to book an appointment. They confirmed my appointment almost right away and I started filling in some of the paperwork online, so check-in was super seamless and fast. Dr. Beda comes across as being genuine, compassionate, effective, and reassuring, making it easier for me to be honest about my crappy diet, lack of exercise and inclination to binge drink, among other vices. I'm totally happy about my visit and would recommend her to anyone looking for a primary care physician in the Seattle area. Bonus: they are located near Hello Robin... and they have their own parking lot (though street parking is super easy to find). read more

Although they accept most major insurances, they won't provide any medical care unless you become a member and pay $75-$100 a month. I was a patient of theirs for years before they changed to a membership-based model. Not only did they not inform me of any change, but they denied me any help with a basic refill unless I became a member. In times like these, you need a doctor you can trust. Sam Warren saved my life. Literally. After years of walking around with an undiagnosed defective heart valve, he took one look at me and got right to the issue. Finally, Dr. Warren's clinic is at the leading edge of modern medical practice, from complete digital support and open secure online access to all of your records, to the lean clean office itself, located in a delightful residential neighborhood on Cap Hill. One reviewer talked about how the questionnaire they provided is immediately erased. Wrong. They provide a long detailed paper questionnaire but also hand you a very short check list each time you go, which is recycled, in order to quickly identify new problems. One word - scribes This is a very small two doctor office and since like most guys I only go to the doctor when I have a problem I might die from I only went once. I appreciated the long initial chat but there was no actual exam and they said to make a return visit but I went to another doc the next day instead and got the problem taken care of. The one thing I didn't like (and it is the reason I didn't go back) is that they use scribes (not a nurse just an entry level assistant). So it was me and two women. When you want to talk about the most intimate aspects of your life and there is a third person typing away on a computer next to you it makes it pretty difficult to talk about some issues and we never even got to the main reason I was there. Other clinics in Seattle also have same day appointments as well as 24/7 consulting nurses and much more sophisticated portals. Wise Patient also has a direct care practice (like a gym membership) currently only $50 a month up to $100 depending on age At $600 to $1200 a year it makes for a very expensive doctor visit since my insurance covers the first 4 for free. It might make sense if you have a chronic condition though. read more

Highly recommend, I started seeing Dr. Beda for hormone replacement therapy, and I've since been quite happy to have her as my primary doctor. The direct care system has been really helpful for me as it allows you to message them about issues or concerns, and the responses are quick and helpful without having to book a whole appointment. Dr. Warren is wonderful! He is the only doctor in the office, which I thought might mean he'd be busy and overbooked at first. I was so wrong! He listens really well to all of your concerns and issues, answers questions thoroughly and never rushes you. He will help you choose treatment plan that fits your lifestyle and not force his own preference on you. I've been for regular visits and also had my blood drawn there. Both were good and painless. The blood draw was easy and quick. The wait time has never been more than 5 minutes after arrival. They also use a system called Open Notes which allows you to see all the notes from your visit online. Really convenient. They'll send you phone call reminders when you're due for your next visit. And last but not least, Dr. Warren's assistants are also very thorough, knowledgeable, and very friendly. Bonus points for being able to book through zocdoc.com! Dr. Warren and his staff are fantastic. I started going here a year ago, and have been so impressed with the level of care, attention, and transparency of the practice. I am often able to get same-day appointments and ask questions via-email all while being treated like a partner and not a "client." Had my first appointment with Dr. Warren today and was very impressed with his bedside manner and willingness to spend time with me to understand my issues at hand. I spent about 30 minutes with Megan, a nurse at the practice, who took detailed notes on my lengthly list of symptoms. She asked questions when she needed clarification and paid close attention to me, never cutting me off or making me feel rushed. After my meeting with Megan, she briefed the doctor and then I spent about 30 minutes with Dr. Warren. He did a quick physical examination and asked more questions. Once he felt he had the full story, he drew up the plan of attack on a white board. He went through his plan with me as Megan fiercely typed into my chart. Once we were all on the same page with his plan of attack, Dr. Warren left the room and Megan scurried off to get the needle kit to take my blood. He was thorough, comfortable and compassionate discussing options, and confident about our course of action. This is a modern partnership kind of a practice. The physicians work with young medical assistants who are all delightful and competent. I saw Dr. Beda as a first time patient this week, and I was very happy with her care. I went in for a follow-up to an ER visit to be assessed after being hit by a car and suffering a concussion. I felt like she was very knowledgeable about head trauma, provided me with a lot of helpful information, and had great "bedside manner" to boot. I personally really liked that she had her nurse taking all the notes as we talked, as she was able to really listen to me that way. I was also impressed by how smoothly everything went, from scheduling, to getting a test ordered, to the ease of communication with the office staff. Though I came in to see her for the car accident, I plan to go back to her for regular primary care. Let me preface this review by stating that I, too, have gone to medical school and have spent nearly half my life working in medicine. I just wanted to put that out there so when I say that Dr Warren is more of an arrogant prick than a good doctor, you can understand that I'm not just a disgruntled patient. We just moved here from NYC for work. My wife has a genetic autoimmune disease that attacks her endocrine system. We brought her to Dr Warren because he is rated so highly. We mostly just wanted a referral to an endocrinologist. My wife filled out a long and detailed history form, which he promptly ignored once he walked into the room. You might be thinking that he looked at it after she left, but no, it's reusable and was wiped before she left the room before anyone could even see it. My wife has a long history of medical issues. He sat and took her history but mostly ignored what she said. Partial bundle branch block secondary to lung adhesions caused by an injury when she was a marine was turned into "cardiologist cleared pt of all issues". Misdiagnosed with ulcerative colitis even though the colonoscopy from seven months ago shows absolutely nothing but healthy tissue turned into "severe gastrointestinal tract disease, send for immediate referral". For that, she was referred immediately and we received a phone call the next day with an appointment for a colonoscopy that Warren put a rush on. At the same time, he refused to give her a referral for her endocrine issues and despite her enumerating them on her history form and verbally, he didn't even take note of any of her symptoms. His notes simply stated "pt says she has endocrine issues". He stated that he was fantastic at managing endocrine issues and he would take charge of this, if she even had a problem. Then he ordered a single endocrine test for her to test a single hormone. ONE TEST for a disease that can't even be diagnosed with three. On top of all of this, we went there for a wellness visit. Indicated both verbally and on the forms that no one read that this was a wellness visit, but because zocdoc defaults to illness, they billed this as a level 4 pt visit which my wife's insurance won't cover. $260 for him to take a history, poorly, and write her a script for a CBC and a single hormone test. When we called to inquire as to why the visit was billed at this level, we were informed that he didn't discuss preventative measures so it couldn't be a wellness visit, plus they spent the visit primarily on one topic (they didn't and his notes reflect that, they post them online immediately). I'm sure this guy is great for people looking for someone to help them with run of the mill colds. I would not go to him for anything more strenuous. I've reviewed his notes, listened to his reasoning and his diagnosis. He talks a good game, but really has no idea what he's talking about. read more

I finally feel empowered by the whole expert medical communication and delivery process - I am truly a "Wiser" patient. This is the innovative future of primary medicine, and I appreciate Dr. Warren opening Wise Patient Internal Medicine. We are already well on our way to resolving lingering legacy health issues and I am experiencing vastly improved health.
