Until this appointment, I have NEVER filed any kind of a formal complaint against a medical professional (and there have been a couple times that I thought about it). After my appointment with Dr. Scarr, I went straight home and made a complaint through The Everett Clinic's customer service website. More concerning to me than his general lack of respect and professionalism were the following: 1. He did no more than make a cursory glance at the medical history I had just provided to the assistant before jumping to several (incorrect) conclusions about why I was there and how he wanted to treat me. 2. He made multiple out of date, incorrect, and potentially dangerous statements about the treatment of Hashimoto's thyroiditis (a specific autoimmune thyroid disease). And made some rude remarks about my concerns being cosmetic in nature rather than truly medical. 3. He doesn't understand depression and the need for pharmaceutical treatment. Period. And he is insensitive when discussing it. I left in tears and absolutely furious. Most telling to me was that when I scheduled a follow-up appointment with a different doctor the receptionist didn't bat an eye and signed me right up with a primary care physician that hadn't been accepting new patients when I called three days before.

He said he knows nothing about the ear but he tried to treat it anyway. He wasted lots of precious time. THere is only so much time to treat a hearing loss before it gets worse.. HE didn't put me on prednisone which should have been the first course of action, He didn't take anything about me seriously. I don['t think he likes disabled clients. I may have had more hearing if he would have referred me to a specialist. He had no business treaing a hearing loss when he said he know nothing aboutt it. He always ran into the room and ran right back out after just a few miinues.

Dr. Cahn saw me sitting in the waiting room and insisted I sit with him. In fact, I found myself spewing all that was going - for over 45 mins. I left that day with some referrals, potential answers, a link to an article and a feeling that I may just figure out what is going on. Dr Cahn's priority is his patients. He's got the kind of heart that you can only hope for in a family doc. And his PA and NP - the same. Both are incredible. His staff, family, even Lucy (the amazingly gentle and therapeutic office golden doodle) make an appt with him a welcomed visit to get better. I couldn't say enough about the best doctor I've ever had.

He and his staff kept me waiting for nearly 2 hours , the last 15 minutes of which he paced around the office loudly looking for a stethoscope that he never used during my visit. He was hard of hearing, lacked crucial listening skills and frequently talked over my answers to his questions which had very little to do with why I was there . Within minutes he determined that I had been misdiagnosed by a specialist without reading any reports or lab work , told me I was "smart for a woman" and I had no real basis for stress since it is my husband who has to worry about paying the bills.

And I've worked front office and back office with physicians, I know it can be done. Anyway, an acquaintance of mine posted about improvements to her health. I wanted a change so I pressed her for some details. She happily told me about the naturopaths at NSNM. In March 2012, I admittedly made my first appointment with a little hesitation. I didn't have much experience with alternative medicine except for home remedies that my grandmother did. I went into the clinic with an open mind. Julie checked me in with little fuss and I made a cup of tea while I waited. My wait was minimal. Jennifer came into the waiting room, introduced herself, and led me back to the exam room for my first visit. She listened. I mean, doctors are trained to listen but I got the sense that she was genuinely listening to everything that I said. The hour flew by easily. After several visits since then, I am a convert. I do not doubt the dedication that Jennifer has for her patients. She and Robin Sinclair (her clinic partner) genuinely care and listen to your concerns when discussing your healthcare needs. I've had both providers call me at home to check on me during my protracted bout with pertussis. Yeah... that was less than fun. A recent (and welcome) addition to their practice is a collaborative effort with Passionate Nutrition, a wonderful group of certified nutritionists. Jennifer Adler is my nutritionist and she listens without judgement. Check out my review for them if you want more information. Parking is easy and plentiful. Their second-floor location is easy to find and accessible via a small lift. At the end of your visit, your treatment plan will be sent home with you in case you forget what was prescribed or suggested. I cannot recommend them enough. Highest recommendation. No caveats…read more I've been a patient of Greenlake Primary Care for 30+ years. Dr Krista Hodne is my current doctor. (Previously, Dr Busch and Dr Starkebaum.) I'm a cancer survivor, among other stuff. Nothing about my care is easy, straightforward. Some of my troubles have taken years to bring under control. Dr Hodne is the best partner, life coach, and caregiver anyone can ask for. She and her team have gone above and beyond for me, time and again. Two strategies are proven to improve patient outcomes. Constructive long-term relationships, obviously. Emphasizing wellness over treating disease. Knowing this, I enthusiastically supported Greenlake's switch to a concierge model. The concierge model is a rejection of our nation's immoral, inefficient, profiteering fee-for-service model. It's a return to our Rockwell-esque notions of the family doctor. It allows doctors to spend as much time as needed with a patient, to do research, to coordinate all the referrals, to do battle with insurers, etc. No one is getting rich in family practice. Or running an independent clinic. Do the math, read the news. The providers at Greenlake Primary Care are making huge sacrifices. Just to keep the lights on. Just to deliver actual healthcare. Yes, concierge requires memberships to make it work. Until our nation adopts Medicare For All, it's the best available option. I chose to be a member, despite living off credit cards (at the time), because I wanted to get better. I chose correctly. You can too.
