I hate to leave negative reviews but here you go.

I OWE MY LIFE TO 3 PHYSICIANS, 1 OF WHOM IS DR. BANDLA…read more ************* This is not an average review, as I am not an average patient. Perhaps by sharing my story, such as it is, others will see the value in Sleep Care & Medicine so that they might seek help sooner --not later-- and perhaps place that care in the capable hands of Dr. Bandla. ************************* -A BIT OF BACKGROUND- I lost years of my life to "Sleep Apnea": due to the poor health it caused --unnecessarily so-- because I ignored my doctors' suggestions to see a "Sleep Specialist" for a "Sleep Study" (I heard these words within quotations VERY often, and maybe you have as well: from a concerned spouse, friend, or doctor?). When it was suggested to me, I not so much as 'decided' a Sleep Specialist wasn't a priority, but I let time pass without pursuing it: ie, I did not MAKE it a priority. But trust me, IT SHOULD BE. Because of that, let me tell you what my future became: my untreated & disordered sleep would be THE contributing factor to my deteriorating health for those two years. I've only now learned that those symptoms are scientifically documented consequences due to chronically poor sleep or chronic lack of it. BELOW: some of said symptoms: Severe fatigue & sleepiness, lassitude, swings between insomnia to severe over-sleeping; memory loss, thought disorganization, cognitive impairment incl. word-finding, forgetfulness; emotional dysregulation, impatience, depression w/suicidal ideation; heart palpitations, body temperature irregularity, weight gain & muscle loss; severe nerve pain, esp. the extremities; headaches, light sensitivity, hearing changes/loss + sensitivity. & more minor symptoms. Finally I'd had enough and lined up any specialist I could think of: (literally) Endocrinology, Hematology, Neurology, Neurovascular, Audiology + ENT, Pain MGMT, and even Gynocology! All were "fine" and said "see a SLEEP SPECIALIST & do a Sleep Study!!!". I finally got the hint and out of sheer luck, my doc was Dr. Bandla. *************** -THE DOCTOR- At my initial apt, Dr. Bandla asked a few questions to prompt me, then carefully listened to my confused babble about my symptoms, and somehow he understood, never getting frustrated nor short. Once he got the necessary information, he explained everything very carefully until I understood every detail: what my diagnosis likely is, why he believes that is, and then what the next steps will be from there. (And he was right about all his predictions, by the way). A Sleep Study was next, and he made sure every single detail was taken care of: for ex, he made sure a special Mouth-Breathing Sensor would be available for my study after I mentioned having chronic sinus issues. The help & time he spent with me is incredibly rare in today's medical system, and thanks to Swedish for accommodating that kind of care (too often time & money outweigh care. That was n not my experience here). **************************** -ABOVE & BEYOND- Any time I have called or emailed, Dr. Bandla would respond immediately, and he himself would respond personally most often (that is VERY rare these days). The most significant gesture was during my second Sleep Study where I would be "test-driving" a special C-PAP. That Friday night, as my tech helped me get situated, she explained how she'll call the doctor once I'm asleep. I asked what she meant and turns out, he was at home and was staying up late on his Friday night, waiting, just to hear how I was doing. I'm a well spoken person, but I struggle to adequately describe how touched I was from such a gesture. ********************* -CONCLUSION- I was eventually diagnosed and have been using the treatment machine, worn at night, for nearly a month. My body and my life is changing rapidly (It's the best diet & religion rolled into one: HEALED all while you sleep!). I have a rarer type of apnea called Central Sleep Apnea caused by my brain, not the throat like most folks. At night my brain stops telling my lungs to breathe, and my breathing literally stops, as if I've died. With treatment via the machine, my prognosis is very good. So, if you're in the Pacific Northwest, I highly recommend Swedish Sleep Medicine (Redmond or Seattle). There's a reason I drive 4hrs round-trip to be a Swedish patient, time and again. I am and always will be eternally grateful to Preetam Bandla and to his family for allowing us -his patients- to borrow him from you so that we may return to ours. -A.

My family and I were extremely pleased by the high level of care our mother received from Dr. Pappas. He is an excellent physician - and has a kind and attentive manner. We had a lot of questions for him and he answered each one with patience and kindness. He treated my mother with respect and made sure everything was being taken care of as she was being monitored and cared for post surgery. This is a 5 star physician!!

His office manager, Jennifer, asked for my insurance information well ahead of my appointment. Knowing what services would likely be needed, based upon a discussion of why I was coming in, she claimed she contacted the insurance company and called me back to state that everything would be covered (Regence Blue Shield). When I came in for the appointment, I asked again, including the mention of lab services (NW Hospital). She said it was all going to be covered, sans my required co-pay. Well. . . . . . .I am still being harrassed by NW Hospital and by Dr. Pappas' medical billng staff, as that relatively short office visit, with some blood drawn at NW for labs, totals almost $2,000.00 and I am on my third level of appeal with Regence. NW Hospital turned over the matter to collections at some company in Renton that has been calling me at work and making threatening phone calls. Dr. Pappas did write a letter of support to challenge the insurance refusal to cover any aspects of his treatment or the labs, but he has failed to change the billing code to be consistent with the position he takes in the challenge letter! So, his letter is, essentially, useless. The worst part of this debacle is, that the office manager knew I could have waited a couple of weeks to come in (non-urgent), and then I would have been fully covered by my new employer's group health coverage. I have offered to pay what would have been the co-pay amounts, if Regence had really covered the visit, but Dr. Pappas' business manager refuses to even consider this and simply demands the full retail amount at once. This is another example of an okay physician, using people with poor judgement and poor people-skills to manage the business and operations end of their practice. I would never return to him because of his office staff!

She was really sick and also had Alzheimer's. Most Dr's wouldn't want to take care of my mom or would have given up on my mom because of how sick she was and her Alzheimer's. Dr. StoneStreet stepped in and to this day, has never given up on her. Because of her determination to help my mom,she is still alive today. The Bipap has greatly helped her and gave her the energy she needed to power through the healing process of how sick she was. We finally figured out this year, how to stop the leaking from the mask. Even though the mask leaked for years, it still made a difference. She had stopped using the Bipap for about a month last October. I was not the DPOA for my mom at that time, so all I could do is be there for her. Within that month, she stopped eating again and she was very lethargic. I was scared, I was going to lose my mom. I ran into Dr. StoneStreet and she encouraged me. She still never gave up on my mom. We did everything we could then and succeeded and got my mom back on her Bipap. She saved my mom's life again. As soon as she got back on the Bipap, she started eating again and was wide awake. My mom is not cured from the Alzheimer's at this time. Maybe if we fixed her apnea 10 years ago, she wouldn't be where she is now. Im still not giving up on her! As my mom would always say, " Let Time Be Your Friend." She still however, amazes me. With where she is at, in the Alzheimer's, she has beaten the odds. She still remembers who we are. She still surprises me with what she is capable of, and continues to shows us signs that she is still there and aware of everything. The Bipap helps, but we also do our part to keep her going. We continue to care for her, keeping her active, engaged, and informed, while also being proactive about her health and well-being. I highly recommend Dr. StoneStreet. I have immense gratitude for her unwavering support and dedication. Her excitement and commitment to helping my mom keeps me encouraged and motivated when times are rough. The staff has also been wonderful. They always make us feel welcomed and is always there to help in any way. I also highly recommend the Bipap or Cpap machine, it really did make a difference for my mom.
