I'm sharing my experience with Dr. Farook to warn others about her billing practices, which I found…read moremisleading and unfair. I scheduled a routine annual check-up and went to the office, where I was weighed and had my blood pressure and temperature taken -- standard procedures for a yearly exam. When Dr. Farook entered the room, she asked how I was feeling and if I had any concerns. As soon as I responded, the appointment was reclassified as a "problem visit" instead of a routine check-up -- a change that significantly impacts how the visit is billed to your insurance. Annual check-ups are usually covered in full by insurance, but problem visits may not be, and I was never informed of this switch during the appointment. I later received a surprise bill. When I contacted the office for clarification, I was told that the "after-visit summary" would reflect the billing codes. However, this wasn't communicated clearly at the time of the visit. As someone over 50 who has had many annual check-ups with various doctors, I've always discussed general health concerns during these appointments without unexpected billing changes. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. In my opinion, Dr. Farook was not transparent about how her services would be billed. If you choose to visit her, I strongly recommend asking upfront how any discussion during your visit might affect billing -- especially before answering general questions like "How are you feeling?" I do not recommend Dr. Farook due to this lack of transparency.

Would rate this 0/5 stars if I could. I scheduled an annual…read moreappointment and checked in at the front desk with no issues.. during the appointment itself, everything was normal. I've had physicals in the past so I know how they go. There was nothing out of the ordinary in this one. They took my blood, listened to heartbeat, did reflexes, etc. I finished and was sent on my way. 2 weeks later I surprisingly receive a bill and it appears that my insurance didn't cover anything at all, despite insurance supposedly covering annual check-ups. I call their billing dept. and was told that since I mentioned having more headaches than normal, it was an office visit rather than an annual checkup? Wtf? I've had physicals in the past where they ask how I'm doing and I tell them honestly and have never been billed. I ask why wasn't I told during my check in, and the person on the phone says that the medical assistant tried to called me but couldn't reach me and so they changed it without my knowledge and consent. If I had known that I was going to get charged for bringing up a topic I COULD LITERALLY GOOGLE, I would have never came in. Procedures for a physical were also conducted so why isn't that also there in the notes? Very sus and super opaque by my standards. They also said that the doctor told me during the exam but that's a lie, because I would have left immediately. What incentive does a doctor have to tell you that you'd be billed for something, when they get paid for it? It seems like this clinic doesn't give two hoots about the actual health of their patients and are just out for your money. I had multiple calls trying to talk to someone who could do something about this, but all they said was that "we can't change it because the service was provided". So, if I go in, and they give me something I never asked for, I'm billed? I'm out $400, because of negligence and a lack of effort to try to do the right thing. These people are horrible and don't care about you. Also keep in mind that you must lie to your doctor during physicals if there's anything wrong, because if you tell the truth, they'll bill you. Doesn't make a lot of sense, does it?

The address on yelp is where the original clinic was Edmonds Family Medicine, sold to Virginia Mason. before he left to work at Evergreen medical in MONROE. Myself & my husband of 20 yrs have been Dr Thurman's patients beginning at the original clinic Edmonds Family Medicine that I have been going to since I was 7 in 1972. I have had 3 Dr's retire Dr Thurman is the last Mohican from the original clinic, after he finally decided to to sell to a big chain. We followed him to Evergreen in Monroe. I am a loyal patient as he is a loyal Dr. He is calming, honest, doesn't claim to know everything. He will refer to a specialist if need be to find out the diagnosis. He is a Dr but also a detective in seeking answers to help in diagnosing whatever is ailing his patient. He really cares. His generation like mine is one of the last that we're taught to be respectful, humble, truthful, honest, caring, communicative. I am proactive also. I more than anyone know my body. I must communicate & research effectively so my Dr then can refer me to a specialist or possibly diagnose what is going on. Its teamwork always, or you may not get the answers you need. Dr Thurman is very popular. If he is taking a new client then you are blessed to have him as your primary care provider. I am very detailed in my communication which is helpful to all Dr's. Pharmacists know the most about types of medications, which one is the best for you, based on your medical conditions & all diagnosis. I must call my provider to see if they will cover some medications if I want to switch. Dr's are not pharmacists, they know medicine but not all brands of every kind. That research is my job with a pharmacist. Find a patient pharmacist. If you dont like an answer from your Dr be kind & tell him. Ask if there are any other options for you. Then call your provider to see if they will pay for what you want, or cover the cost of medicine, or treatments that may be needed. Communication takes two. Be Proactive. Noone is going to advocate for you like yourself. Ask questions. Seek answers. Ask wise friends or family. God Bless you.
