TLDR: North Seattle Pediatrics is a great place to take your children for basic well child visits, vaccines and other routine care. As others have noted, there is free parking and the office staff are friendly. We took our daughter there for years and were basically happy. However, I would not recommend if your child develops anything more complicated than bronchitis. When our daughter became ill with what at first appeared to be a "stomach flu" but persisted for several weeks, they minimized her suffering, told us she would be fine and to come back in a week if she was still having problems. They did not take us seriously even as our daughter lost weight and stopped being able to eat without feeling nauseous. We saw two different doctors there in addition to our primary doc because the primary was never available after the first visit. Eventually (more than three weeks after our first visit), after they finally sent her for tests, they found she was, in fact ill and it was serious after she went more than three weeks without help. Fast forward a few months and she started having different symptoms. They again minimized her symptoms and told us to come back if it continued. This time, I took her to a different doc in a different practice because I had had enough. The new doctor worriedly sent her for tests on her first visit and found that she had developed another serious condition that was brought on by her previous illness. I'm not listing the doctors' names in here because we saw three different doctors during this ordeal. The one that finally ordered the tests was Dr. Fillipo, if that helps, but we only saw him once and that was three weeks after our first visit. I rarely write reviews and typically avoid writing negative reviews, and as long as your child is normal and healthy, you will probably be fine here. My son Henry is almost 1 and we've been seeing Dr. Graham since he was born. She visited us at the hospital and we were worried about our son not getting enough to eat and her advice helped save our sanity. The office has easy parking, which is free for the first half hour, then about $4/hour. The office is on the second floor. There is a separate entrance for sick kids. The 24/7 pediatric nurse line is extremely helpful when you have an urgent concern. The online portal mykidschart is super useful for checking notes after the appointment and seeing percentiles and growth charts. If you have an infant/newborn, they will make sure to check you in immediately so you don't have to wait in the waiting room with the older kiddos. I appreciated that since I was nervous about having my newborn so close to that many older children during flu season. read more

It was a bit of a hassle getting set up as a new patient with my toddler but mostly my old providers fault in delaying her medical records. Otherwise it's been an amazing experience with my new baby. On call doctor came to do a well check after her birth at Northwest Hospital. The front desk is great - no billing or admin issues. I'm able to see a doctor same day when something comes up and get a hold of a consultant nurse anytime. They offer same day virtual visits/telehealth. I love our pediatrician Dr. Seru - really kind yet straight forward. Never feel rushed during our visits. Only con would be I guess she's pretty popular and gets booked pretty far out. We've only had great experiences with the other pediatricians though so it's not a big deal. It is a shared building with paid parking but that's pretty much the norm in seattle now. read more

When our son was born. We spent a bit of time in the hospital, and got to know all of the nurses really well. One of the many things we learned from them was that almost all of them took their children North Seattle Pediatrics. All of the doctors here are great. Awhile back I had a miscarriage and on that day missed a well-child appointment for my toddler. I called later and apologized for the no-call, no-show inconvenience. I explained what happened and was told not to do it again or we would be dropped as patients. Oh, and would I like to reschedule? Yikes. Your receptionist sucks. I was trying to start going to NSP but the receptionist was not very helpful (actually she will need some customer care curses). She could not tell me how long approximately it will take to make an appointment as a new patient until I have a filled a Medical Release Form.   She could not tell me if they were accepting my insurance and she was not a very kind person overall. Once you change your receptionist, I might consider going there because of the good quality doctors. read more

I was referred to North Seattle Pediatrics and specifically Dr. Seru by the Northwest Hospital Midwives Clinic. Dr. Grimm and Dr. Alberda saw my little one at the hospital, and we've seen Dr. Seru and Dr. Fillipo at the office. All of them were incredibly warm, supportive of breastfeeding, and open to any questions I could think of. I have absolutely nothing outright negative to say about the office, but here are some tips: 1. It's located in the NW Hospital outpatient building, so it's a paid parking lot 2. You are billed for calling the clinic after-hours (but not during business hours) 3. It's a busy practice, and Dr. Seru is especially popular 4. You can't toss dirty diapers in the exam rooms for health reasons, so bring a wet bag read more

This office and I have quite the history...going on 10 years . As an adolescent I would come to see Dr. Suru who was my pediatrician. She was also was my little sisters. Most recently I have been using North Seattle Pediatrics for my son who is 3, since he was born. His pediatrician Dr. Grimm is extremely sweet and supportive when you have questions or concerns. While sometimes I may be over protective or hyper paranoid when it comes to illness, they never seem to judge me too much here. There have been many times when I have called with a just a question. The nurses here get back to you very quickly and there have been many times I have gotten an appointment the same day. When thinking of a downside to this clinic, I honestly cannot really think of one. I highly recommend NSP. My 5 year old daughter has been seeing Dr. Grimm since she was a baby and we have had a wonderful experience with her and the practice of other pediatricians. Dr. Grimm is very caring and it shows when she sees her patients. We've also seen Dr. Kelso and Dr. Filipo at times when we weren't able to see Dr. Grimm and all of them have been great. I now have another daughter and baby boy and we will continue to go here. The nursing staff are also really warm and friendly. I have always been able to call whenever I've had questions or concerns and usually receive a callback within reasonable timeframe. Also, they have an afterhours service which is usually very good about putting me in touch with the attending physician whenever necessary. As far as the location, it is conveniently located off the Northgate Way exit on Meridian ave. The large uncovered parking lot usually has ample parking available. However, it is a pay lot and I usually pay $3 or $5 depending on the length of the visit. The building itself has a pharmacy and small cafe. The pedi office is on the 2nd floor. You can take the stairs, or if you have a stroller, you can go to the elevators in the back. read more

As a parent, I hate searching for a great doctor!! This place rocks! My children see Dr Brat! She is wonderful. She listens to what I say and doesn't belittle me! The advice nurse is awesome. Depending on what my children have when I call they are able to call in a prescription for me! They are saving me time and money!!! read more

I have taken my older son here from the time he was 4 (he'll be 13 later this year) and my younger son since birth. Our favorite doctor there, who we see most of the time, is Dr. Drew Fillipo. We have only seen a different doctor 2x in almost 9 years. The care my sons have received has been solid, evidence based and responsive. Fillipo has an amazing rapport with kids in general but I especially appreciate how well he is able to engage our son with autism. Not all health care providers can communicate effectively with kids on the spectrum. We have had issues at other providers in relation to ASD that we have never had at North Seattle Pediatrics. We've never had any issues with billing or scheduling. Well child visits are scheduled months out but that's just a sign that he's a popular choice for pediatrics in the area. read more

Cons. My daughter was a patient here for two years and during those years we received fair treatment (doctor was unfamiliar with chronic illness my daughter has and failed to collaborate with Children's hospital) from her primary pediatrician. The doctor also sent my daughter's prescription to a pharmacy we did not request and we had to pay out of pocket until the insurance caught-up. Additionally, the billing officer didn't return my calls when I requested an itemized list of charges for a same day appointment. Pros. While parking at North Seattle Pediatrics isn't free, there are plenty of street parking nearby. I was also able to get my daughter same-day appointments when I needed it with a very skilled pediatrician, who is only on call. The office staff is very friendly and there are two separate entrances for children with communicable illnesses. read more

We had been taking our children here since birth and up until yesterday had always been very happy. Yesterday when I tried to make an appointment for my son I was informed that we had been dismissed as a patients due to an unpaid bill of $60. I explained that we had tried to pay the bill at the time of service, but the front desk staff told us that they could not take the payment at that time. It seemed strange and appeared like they were just being uncooperative. I then explained that we also tried repeatedly to contact their billing department over the course of a week with no luck and finally gave up, figuring we would just take care of the bill at our next visit. We received no prior notification, no assistance finding a new health provider for our children, no information on how to obtain our medical records; we found this when we called, needing to see the doctor. I just don't understand how anyone, especially medical professionals, can be so uncaring, disrespectful, and have such little disrespect for human life. This has been one of the most humiliating experiences of my life. read more

Horrible experience. My daughter had been a patient from newborn until 13 years old when they kicked us out for a past due balance. They were mailing a bill to a house I sold 3 years prior. As soon as I found out, I paid but it was too late. They sent a letter and told us to find a new doctor. Over $68.00. Horrible! read more

Ended up waiting an hour for the doctor who never once came in to tell me she was running late, nurses were rude. Two days after the visit i get a call from my health insurance to immediately get my child vaccinated. I am holding off on those for now and i told the doctor this. I believe this may be a HIPA voilation as my medical choices should be kept private and having my insurance call me the first time a day after my visit left a bad taste in my mouth. Have found a new ped so thats great! I have no hard feelings about this place I just won't be back because I feel that I cannot trust them. We have seen Dr Brat, Grimm and Filipo here. They are all so wonderful. The doctors have been so thorough and are wonderful at teaching. Our favorite thing about this practice though is nurse Carolyn. She's so fun and really awesome with the kiddos. She remembers us every time and asks about small details we've mentioned in previous visits. They are all pretty mindful there. I would recommend this practice to anyone. The staff are friendly, and Dr Grim is nice. They've been fine for vaccinations and well checks, but for anything beyond that I've been very unsatisfied with the care. She prescribed extra strength hydrocortisone cream for my 1 yo son for his eczema two separate times, and I found out on my own that he has a dairy intolerance causing the skin problems. My older son (6) broke his foot, which was casted at the ER. When I took him to see her about it FOUR DAYS later, she removed the cast and gave him a special shoe. She recommended not using crutches, and said he's not supposed to walk on it for four weeks. She didn't have a wheel chair, and didn't know where I could rent one. When I asked how he was supposed to get around she suggested a stroller or that I piggy back him. Now, without the cast his foot is hurting him and it wasn't before. read more

I love Cheryl Bratt if you're looking for a doctor for your child she is absolutely the best. My daughter is 7 months old and has been going there since she was 2 months. We had a different doctor before in Yakima but nothing can compare to how well she treats my daughter. She treats her and talks to her just as I would. She is kind and warm hearted unlike some doctors that do there job and get out she loves what she does and you can tell. She will spend as much time needed to answer questions. My daughter hasn't been sick yet but I'm sure the experience will be just as good when she does. read more

We really like this pediatric practice for our two boys, aged 3 and 1. So I'd give them 5 stars, EXCEPT. I know this is not their particular doing, but I just think it is really unfortunate that UW charges for parking at this location, and at Northwest Hospital up the street. It's not exactly downtown up here, and other local medical practices (Pacific Medical, local Swedish locations) don't charge for parking. Sure, maybe it's just a few bucks, but I personally find it rubs me the wrong way, as I see no need whatsoever to create barriers to folks receiving medical care. There are certainly those for whom a few bucks would make a difference, and I feel strongly that medical practices should be making all efforts they can to REMOVE barriers to access. read more

I have to concur with all the other reviews. Both my kids (9 & 7) see Dr. Seru and we all absolutely love her. She was actually the on call pediatrician at NW Hospital when my son was born (I had another pediatrician picked out but he didn't have hospital privileges) and she was phenomenal with him when he was just a couple of hours old. We immediately asked if she would be his doctor and we have absolutely no regrets. Dr. Seru has been great with our daughter as well. We had a number of asthma issues with her when she was a toddler and Dr. Seru was just amazing, even visiting her when she had to be admitted to Children's Hospital. The other doctors are great too, and the nursing staff is amazing. We live nowhere near the clinic, but we would never consider changing doctors because we love them so much. When the kids now ask us anatomy or human biology questions that we can't answer, they say "okay, so next time I see Dr. Seru I will ask her." read more

I was a little apprehensive about picking a pediatrician for my son, so I asked for recommendations from friends. My son's cousin goes to North Seattle Pediatrics and another friend of mine takes her kids there as well, so I figured it was worth a try! Long story short, I LOVE it! My son is 6 months old now and sees Dr. Bratt. She is so gentle and informative, the nurses are all awesome as well. It's solely a pediatric practice so the vibe is very kid friendly (and very clean). They have a separate waiting area for "sick" kids (with fevers, coughs, etc), so as not to expose the children there for well child visits. Love that feature! They do an awesome job of not making you wait a long time in the waiting room (we have never had to wait past our appointment time) or in the exam room. The nurse takes care of all the vitals and then the doctor comes in RIGHT after....I'm not used to not having to wait forever! :) We can get in and out of there in a half an hour, easily. My son has been a patient of North Seattle Pediatrics for the past 16 years and we were always happy with all physicians. However, we are extremely pleased with the addition of Dr. Bill Fournarakis to the team of pediatricians. During our initial appointment with Dr. Fournarakis, he succeeded in eliciting more information from us than any other professional before, mostly due to his superior analytical skills combined with an unusually honest communication style that enabled us to have a conversation that cut to the core rather than being stalled in the realm of each person's private objectives. By the end of the visit, we had a possible diagnosis, an initial treatment plan, and a course of action for something I had considered merely a symptom of conflicting family personalities and values. I also greatly appreciated Dr. Fournarakis cautious approach to providing a diagnosis, leaving room for modifications and adjustments following my son's further wellbeing and future office visits. Dr. Fournarakis is an excellent physician, attentive, caring, someone who takes the time to listen to his patients, who is able to engage them to provide honest responses, and who is able and willing to modify the focus of existing appointments to focus on his patient's needs as they come up. He has a strong commitment to and a keen interest in his patients' wellbeing. I not only consider Dr. Fournarakis the best pediatrician my son has ever seen but the best physician I have ever had the pleasure to see at work. read more

I have been taking my son to Dr. Fillipo since the day he was born (9yrs). This clinic and staff have been the best experience with a doctors office in my whole life. The doctors take their time and they are so caring. Appointments get scheduled when kiddos can't wait two weeks to be seen. They truly care!! I have been taking my children to NSP from the time they were babies- and they are teenages now! I tried a few other pediatrician offices when I moved away from the neighborhood, but nobody can hold a candle to the service we get here. From the front desk staff to the doctors and nurses, everyone is kind and compassionate. The neighborhood listed on here is not quite right. North Seattle Pediatrics is actually located in Northgate near North Seattle Community College. I can tell you three things: First, the doctors will go above and beyond (as will the nurses) to make sure your kids are top priority...ALWAYS. Second, if you need to talk to a nurse for advice, they will always answer your call that day.... no waiting 3 days like at my personal dr.'s office. Three, customer service is a priority and the love for the patients there is very noticable. If there's something that needs to be fixed, they'll fix it. horrible experience. new in town tried to make my sons 2yr well care check without success. called several times to schedule and all I was told was to call back next week or the next day when my sons records are received. My son is perfectly heathy - do they not believe me when I say he has no history except well care checks and that I have his immunization record in hand. Tired of calling the office to make the well care check appointment and tired of calling his other MD to figure out the disconnect of them not receiving his old records. The office was no help what so ever in facilitating this process. Have heard amazing things regarding the Dr, sure wish I could see them, the front office blocks new patients. DO NOT recommend as a new patient!!! read more
