I could not move due to the pain I was experiencing, and it wasn't until a nurse came in several minutes later that I was able to stand up again. I should have filed a formal complaint back then, but I did not know any better. I see other patients who have posted similar experiences, so this is her normal way of approaching care, I guess. I switched doctors after that horrible experience, and a follow-up biopsy with a different physician was the total opposite in terms of care, pain management, and commitment to the patient's well-being. DO NOT GO WITH DR. BAUTISTA.

She was busy small talking about her family when all of a sudden she put the speculum into my vagina without warning. I was very jarred, and the insertion hurt. She continued talking about other things and I had to interrupt her to ask her to tell me what she was going to do before doing them. When she got my old IUD out, she was unable to get a new one in. She told me to get dressed and left the room. As I dressed myself, I noticed she had left the speculum, and several other pieces of now bloody medical equipment in the sink. Something about that didn't feel right. I felt sick to my stomach. As a survivor of sexual assault, this experience was very overwhelming for me. I plan never to see Dr. Bautista again.

My current doctor had access to the 2020 scan, and said that it was *not* OK, the results showed bone loss and I should have been notified. Six and a half years later, we really value our relationship and the care we've gotten from Dr. Doroshow. She's great with kids, calming, affectionate, realistic. She doesn't believe in lying to them -- no "this won't hurt a bit" unless it really won't! If something will hurt, she takes the time to explain why and for how long and to get their buy-in. Her office staff is good and making an appointment's usually not a problem. The after-hours nurse line has been really helpful when we have unfortunately needed it. And Carol visited my daughter every day, sometimes more than once, the sole time she had to be admitted to Children's. We drive almost an hour to get to Dr. Carol and it really is worth it. She listens to you and wants you to be involved. It's not her way or the highway; she's OK with altered vaccination schedules or skipping some or all shots. And she's really helpful with breastfeeding issues. Most importantly, my daughter loves her. That communication will serve her well as she grows and changes, and I know she will be sorry to leave Dr. Carol's practice when she's finally too old for the pediatrician. :-) Note: This is the absolute most horrible picture of Dr. Carol I have ever seen!

This past year has been absolute hell for me, I lost my soul dog and the grief was absolutely unbearable. When I came in for a checkup I expected the usual but instead started being interrogated about why I gained weight and why my acne looked so bad. I explained to her my situation and she said that my grief wouldn't have caused me to be in such a bad state. She started asking me incredibly inappropriate questions like was I raped, did I start using drugs, was I being abused, etc. To some this experience may seem uncomfortable but when I've known this woman my whole life and she knows that I'm in remission for anorexia, and have past attempts on my life...this experience was far more than uncomfortable. I left her office crying and hyperventilating to the point that my mother had to sit with me in the car for 15 minutes trying to calm me down enough so I could speak. During one of the lowest points of my life Dr.Torrez chose to not only ignore me but completely destroy any of the little confidence I had left in me. Please do not EVER go to this woman especially if you struggle with mental health or are a girl/woman, she does not have your best interest at heart and I would hate for any other girl to be made to feel the same way I was.

It's cleaner than most doctors offices I've been too. The only down side is during busy times (like after school) the waiting room is packed with sick kids sitting really close to you. All in all though, good quality healthcare is really hard to find these days, and they are doing it pretty well here.

On the…read moreappointment day one of the medical assistants send us in the exam room and we were waiting for doctor more than 1 hour! After a month we received a bill for $340.00. My son has active insurance and Swedish is in the network, but for some reason, the clinic did not send any claim to the insurance and the billing department sent us a bill of $340.00 for this visit. They sent us this bill every month (3 times so far) and each time we contacted the billing department and the clinic, and they supposed to fix it, but we were surprised with a new bill every month. We contacted the insurance company several times and they said we did not receive any claim from Swedish. Also, I checked my insurance account online and I do not see any claim from Swedish pediatric clinic. Finally, we paid $340.00 OUT OF POCKET for just annual wellness check. I scheduled this appointment 2-3 months in advanced and the clinic scanned my son's insurance card. They have enough time to verify the insurance. (this is active insurance), Now, 3 months after the appointment, they still did not send any claim to the insurance, and I end up paying $340.00 out of pocket. I am really disappointed with this clinic; I never go there again or recommend it to anybody.

I'm sharing my experience with Dr. Farook to warn others about her billing practices, which I found…read moremisleading and unfair. I scheduled a routine annual check-up and went to the office, where I was weighed and had my blood pressure and temperature taken -- standard procedures for a yearly exam. When Dr. Farook entered the room, she asked how I was feeling and if I had any concerns. As soon as I responded, the appointment was reclassified as a "problem visit" instead of a routine check-up -- a change that significantly impacts how the visit is billed to your insurance. Annual check-ups are usually covered in full by insurance, but problem visits may not be, and I was never informed of this switch during the appointment. I later received a surprise bill. When I contacted the office for clarification, I was told that the "after-visit summary" would reflect the billing codes. However, this wasn't communicated clearly at the time of the visit. As someone over 50 who has had many annual check-ups with various doctors, I've always discussed general health concerns during these appointments without unexpected billing changes. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. In my opinion, Dr. Farook was not transparent about how her services would be billed. If you choose to visit her, I strongly recommend asking upfront how any discussion during your visit might affect billing -- especially before answering general questions like "How are you feeling?" I do not recommend Dr. Farook due to this lack of transparency.
