This past year has been absolute hell for me, I lost my soul dog and the grief was absolutely unbearable. When I came in for a checkup I expected the usual but instead started being interrogated about why I gained weight and why my acne looked so bad. I explained to her my situation and she said that my grief wouldn't have caused me to be in such a bad state. She started asking me incredibly inappropriate questions like was I raped, did I start using drugs, was I being abused, etc. To some this experience may seem uncomfortable but when I've known this woman my whole life and she knows that I'm in remission for anorexia, and have past attempts on my life...this experience was far more than uncomfortable. I left her office crying and hyperventilating to the point that my mother had to sit with me in the car for 15 minutes trying to calm me down enough so I could speak. During one of the lowest points of my life Dr.Torrez chose to not only ignore me but completely destroy any of the little confidence I had left in me. Please do not EVER go to this woman especially if you struggle with mental health or are a girl/woman, she does not have your best interest at heart and I would hate for any other girl to be made to feel the same way I was.

Their office manager, Taylor immediately reached out to discuss insurance and let me know this care appeared to be out of network, which I had expected but fully appreciated. She also offered to give me a super bill following the appointment so I could both attempt to receive reimbursement and use the spend while filing taxes. The day of my appointment they reached out again with an estimated cost of services- which seemed to be because of the out of network care. Again, amazing transparency for a healthcare environment. My appointment felt very much like a meeting with an old friend. Dr. Dubois listened, was incredibly kind and knowledgeable, and when tests were needed, she covered the cost of these tests up front and asked about budgeting and timing for them if they were not currently a doable amount. I cannot imagine they could have been any more flexible and kind, and even knowing with 100% certainty my care was out of network and would be more expensive than seeing my PCP I would absolutely book this again. He gave me the excuse at the end that since he hadn't gotten my records from my previous doctor, he didn't want to prescribe yet. My previous doctor tried 7 times to fax him, but his fax number is his main line so that was his fault for not having an adequate fax/phone system. Yet he tried to pass the blame onto my doctor! $350 yet another appointment, no clear diagnosis. Then $100 for a 15 minute session, still no concrete diagnosis one way or another.
