This got me thinking back through the years and how less often I have had to take the children or even visit Dr. Schmidtke. Not to be mistaken for his two sons who are also dentists, Dr. Gerard Schmidtke has been mine and my family's dentist since I moved to the United States, there is no doctor like him. His bedside manners are absolutely commendable. If you are new to Tucson and are looking for a great dentist, then you want this Dr. He is efficient and has always worked on the problem I presented and I did not have to return for the same thing. I have only seen him 3 times in a span of 13 years, this tells you what a great job he does, but of course I also have great dental hygiene :) He accepts new patients and will work to accommodate you and your family as needed. My 14 year old loves him and is always in a great mood when she has to go and see him. My husband who has only seen him for the first time this year, is raving about him, that tells me what a great doc he is, because my husband is quite critical when it comes to which healthcare providers he sees. His comment was literally 'honey, I see now why you drive the distance to see him, he is great'

You provided a new bridge that did not need to be removed Once you get your Father to come in and replace the original work I will find a more honorable dentist I have been unable to schedule the 2 appointments to explain what needs to be done Some of the records I provided when we first went to see you are gone. Fortunately I was able to obtain those records I do not sue doctors and as soon as I get my special bridge put back in by your Father I will find a moral dentist in Sierra Vista The trip to your office along with the trips to Banner Cancer are just going to become to hard on my body to continue Since you will not talk to us and I am getting the runaround from the front desk I am forced to contact this way How many times have you done this to your patients meaning how many services have you performed simply to get the insurance money plus their Co pay My husband and I want to talk to your father and you privately. I know a LOT about what makes a good dentist. Simply put, Dr. Carlos Benavides is the best. And his staff members are all amazing too. I first saw him in December for an emergency crown on a tooth I had busted by accidentally chomping on an uncooked popcorn kernel. I had just moved full-time to Tucson and was in the process of getting established with new medical providers. I had a first appointment set with another practice but they could not see me for my emergency for a week. Buena Vida took me right in. Dr. Benavides did the full job in 90 minutes. There was no pain during the procedure, nor after, which has been common with every other crown I have had. Fantastic! I canceled my appointment with the other practice and signed up with Buena Vida. About a month later, I had the great pleasure of being seen by Buena Vida dental hygienist Brittany Engle. She did a wonderful job, giving me a lot of great input about my dental health as she performed a painless and efficient cleaning. I was back this week for a bonding job on my two front teeth, which have had minor but unattractive chips for a while. In about an hour, Dr. Benavides and his assistant (whose name, I am sorry to say, I did not get) turned them into what look like brand new, perfect, natural teeth by applying a little composite and a LOT of skill. I was shocked when they handed me the mirror. I expected the teeth to look better, but nothing like this. Dr. Benavides is very gentle, confident, relaxed and humble. I have never been treated by a medical professional who seems as genuinely happy as he does to treat his patients. He hums along with the songs on his office's great playlist as he drills. Maybe others wouldn't approve, but I find it cool. Also, Buena Vida's membership plan offers very attractive pricing. His front-office folks are just as helpful and nice as the treatment staff. They took X-Rays and Grossman handed them to Carlos Buena Vida. Grossman refused to consult on the filling that Buena Vida did as a result of the X-Rays. Buena Vida did such a horrible job on the filling that it had to be fixed by another dentist. I was also billed full cost without being notified that Carlos Buena Vida did not accept my Delta Dental insurance. Shame on you Michael Grossman for the way you sold your practice and abandoned patients. Two stars for being a reliable dentist for years. 0 Stars for the way you handled your transition
