I had a tooth that was bothering me but my dentist didn't find the problem. Then, while eating lunch with friends a couple weeks later, the tooth cracked open and split into several pieces which flew in all directions. It felt like it had exploded. My regular dentist's phone wasn't working and I had to leave a message. Meanwhile, I couldn't close my mouth because of the jagged tooth (what was left of it). I called my insurance and they set me up with Dr. Burrows whose office is close to my home. He saw me less than an hour later and got me fixed up. A lot of people have a lot of opinions; but when somebody treats you right, you gotta give credit. I've come here for many years and nobody's ever done me wrong. From crowns to unfortunately a bridge, I've had nothing but good service. But even more I love all the techs for teeth cleaning. They are all fabulous and good. One story in particular, was I lost my crown at the beach in Florida. I managed to salvage it because I didn't want to pay for a new one. Dr. Burrows told me that the likelihood of it fitting was slim because I hadn't had it in my mouth for over a week. however, it fell right into place and he charged me a minimal fee for a re-gluing it. Now to me that's honesty. He could've fed me alone and made a couple of bucks but he didn't. They've always been good and they've always been on the up and up. Gentle. We have gone to Desert Springs family dentistry for about 3 years. The dental hygienist are fantastic and friendly and Dr. Burrows is great with my whole family. Sadly we will not be returning due to the office staff. Over the years they have become more and more rude and really unhelpful. We were charged something different then was quoted, when I switched insurance they were rude and did not explain the benefits properly. They didn't seem to mind to loose a loyal family of 5. We spent a ton of money there on fillings and crowns and deep cleanings and the front office could care less. read more

I called 3 weeks ago to set up an appointment for cleaning and fill a cavity I had lost, gave the insurance company I have.....all fine then, I called my insurance company 3 days ago to double check and they said 'Dentist is on the plan, all covered" well today, the day before the appointment, I get a call from the same women, 1 minute before they close to tell me, that they only can do the 'checking' not the cleaning, and that I will have to pay 50% as they are not in the network, called back my insurance and sure enough, they are, was just told....incredible, they call you 1 minute before closing to tell you, that you need to pay for the 'check up' and that the cleaning has to be later, for an appointment at 9am the next day. (1 hour after posting this, I was called by their office, that they called the insurance company and that they made a 'mistake' LOL, and that they can re-schedule me but maybe " I am not a good fit for them" beyond incredible) *Answering below: Incorrect, 3 weeks ago was my appointment, all fine, then all of a sudden to be told that I am out of network and that I have to pay 50% (which is incorrect, as my insurance doesn't pay out of network, not at all, I was told the DOCTOR is not part of the insurance, and I told the girl, incorrect, I spoke to them and they said yes and they referred me to him, why tell me this 3 weeks later and the night before, so amazing you guys don't know what insurances you are in then? and sure enough I got upset, she called me back to say, yes we are, but maybe we are not a good fit LOL, to me super fishy, maybe wanting to collect more? read more

I am so grateful to Dr Burrows! While traveling from WI, I broke off a tooth that anchored my partial. Eating became difficult because my mouth was hurting. I was in a quandary as to what to do so far from home. My niece who is a patient of Dr. Burrows phoned to see if he would possibly see me. He squeezed me in among his appointments to determine what needed to be done. Within days the necessary repair work was completed and I could comfortably continue my trip. Dr. Burrows is the only dentist I have ever had who fills the bill on every requirement I needed in a dentist. He is kind and gentle. He is always willing to listen to my needs, concerns and questions. I had a terrible dental phobia until I began seeing Dr. Burrows. But after many visits I can honestly say that not once has he ever made me feel uncomfortable. In fact, he does everything possible to make sure that you are at ease before, during and after any procedure. Nothing is too trivial for him to address if it means that you, as a patient, can relax and have a positive experience while in his care. The office staff at Desert Springs Family Dentistry have always been professional, courteous, and friendly. They will make sure that your questions are answered concerning procedures, costs, insurance, etc. They have always made me feel like they were part of my family when I was there from the time I walked in the door to when I left. I found Dr Burrows 5 years ago when I moved to Tucson, I had to fire Dr Burrows as a doctor because the lack of knowledge and responsibility for his work. He did 1 crown in # 15, Dr Burrows didn't glue the crown properly and I ended up swallowing it, then he recognized that was his fault and put the 2nd crown, this crown never was done right, after several attempts to fix the problem he caused, he sent me to Dr Susan Sharp. Now Dr Sharp said that I needed surgery because my gum was too small for the crown and she needed to open space for it. Well I was 59 years old then and I couldn't believe what I had heard, somehow now is was my problem. When I called Dr Burrows to let him know I wouldn't do any surgery as Dr Sharp recommended, Dr Burrows said to me, to go back to him and he will fix it . Then I had it! I asked the office manager why asked me now when he dropped the ball to Dr Sharp that I can see the $$$ sign everywhere. Finally I found a good, honest, knowledgeable with a professional ethics doctor, Dr Wilson fixed the problem in 1 shot, without any surgery just with my gums and my tooth. Thank God I never went for either Dr Burrows or Dr Sharp advice! read more
