Definitely one of my favorite sushi places considering I do not eat seafood or meat. It has selected vegetarian options, but in my opinion they are pretty good compared to other places in town. Most of the locations are small and cozy, except for the Boston location. Parking is plenty and location is convenient. The service is very good. My favorite items to order are- Miso soup Yasai Gyoza Sweetie Roll - my favorite Hawaii Roll - 2nd favorite Order the gyoza sauce instead of soya sauce and have your sushi with that. the sauce is delicious.

Japanese restaurant located in Legacy Shops. We were able to get a table on a Thursday evening without a wait when several other places in the plaza were booked. I guess this is a small chain with five locations in the Boston area. The menu concentrates mostly on sushi, with a few entrees. 18 year old and I ordered several items to share. My favorites were the summer roll and the salmon torch roll. The hotate kaiyaki, kind of like a "dynamite" in a shell, was rich and tasty. Was not a fan of the beef skewer, as it was fatty. We ordered the shrimp spring roll with salmon instead of shrimp. Next time I would stick to the shrimp. We sat at the bar and service was friendly. Our dishes came out quickly.

We really wanted sushi and wondered what would be a nice new place to try. Genki at Dedham seemed like a good choice based on the reviews and distance. We got it delivered and ordered the spicy salmon tartare and spicy tuna salad. We love fresh salmon and tuna and both dishes sounded great from the menu. First, the order took over 1.5 hours to arrive. That was still bearable. Second, neither one of the dishes was spicy. Again, not a big deal. Third, the quantity for the prices was really tiny. Now, this one actually matters (but only if you like the taste of the food). So here's the final one - the salmon tartare was cooked. What?? It's tartare. Why is this dish served with cooked salmon? It was not what we wanted at all. It was bland and the texture was obviously off because the salmon was cooked. The tuna salad was just ok - lots of tempura flakes, little tuna. But at least the tuna was fresh. Would not recommend.

The location is conveniently located next to the parking garage near the footbridge to the movie theater. Definitely a good spot to stop by for some food when you're shopping. The staff is friendly and the acoustic covers playing in the background is on point! The seaweed salad was fresh and it felt like a generous portion. The spicy salmon and spicy tuna rolls were as good as any good sushi restaurant. There is a slight increase in price from inflation, honestly its not that much more which is appreciated.

I couldn't even wait for the check to come to let y'all know how great this meal was LOL. Its a Sunday evening and we didn't have to wait to be seated. However it did fill up quick in here. In a full dining room, the noise is average. Not loud where you feel the need to talk loudly to be heard. Momokawa Organic Junmai Ginjo Sake -- so delicious and pairs well with the sushi, sweet but not too sweet and has a hint of honey. 14.5% Seaweed Salad -- delicious and light, perfect to share with 2-3 people if you're ordering other apps and/or sushi. Pan Fried Gyoza -- could have been seared on both sides but still very delicious. Spicy King Crab Tempura Roll -- this is the star of the show, why I couldn't wait to get this review out haha. This is probably one of the best rolls I've had here so far. I highly recommend trying it and it's enough to share. 10/10 Triple Torch Roll -- it was pretty good, I'm not sure I'd get it again, I feel like it was missing something, maybe a sauce on top? 7/10

We live close by and we normally come here for our sushi cravings when we aren't in the mood to drive to the city. We like rolls that are raw (no tempura, no cooked ingredients, no cream cheese please). The Twin Roll, Rich Salmon Roll, Tri-Color, Fresh Summer Roll (ordered without cream cheese) are our favorites from here. Service is always kind and attentive. My Star Rating: 5 stars: Blew my mind, had a wow factor, will return 4 stars: I liked it but didn't love it, no wow factor, will still return 3 stars: I didn't hate it, but didn't like it either. Will not voluntarily return 2 stars: I did not like it, I would not return 1 star: I absolutely hated it, I would not return

Still really good sushi here! I absolutely love it and they still have a great caterpillar and double spicy tuna roll! The spider roll is consistent! The uni sushi was not available this time around but hopefully that will change soon.

All Natural Chicken Katsu with Rice

Funny how I walk by this restaurant all the time and I feel like I've never seen anybody walk in here, but I went on a Friday night and it was very busy. They kind of cover the windows to see into it and cover the dining room with drapes when you're in the lobby. It's an intimate restaurant, maybe 30 odd seats and rather standard. I ordered the All Natural Chicken Katsu but I selected pork instead. They also give you a complimentary miso soup which is cool. I thought they had messed up my order because it looked and tasted like chicken, but they insisted it was pork. It came with white rice and vegetables. It was pretty standard. I don't like sushi so I ordered this and probably wouldn't come back based on my experience this time. Not a bad restaurant, just not for me.

Came here soon after they opened and there was no wait for seating. We ordered shrimp and veggie tempura, Naruto, salmon torch roll, and dynamite roll. Tempura: 5/5 It's probably one of the best I've had in MA. The batter is so light but yet is so crispy. You don't feel like you're eating a thick coating of batter nor does it taste oily at all. Naruto: 5/5 this was so refreshing to eat with the slight tang of the sauce and thin cucumber wrapping Salmon torch roll: 5/5 I loved this, it was so good! I didn't even need to dip it in any soy sauce or wasabi Dynamite:4/5 still very good, but felt like it was a lot of sauce when you bite into each piece. Love the slight crunch of the outside rice. Service is decent, our waters were filled, and they took empty dishes away promptly before the next dish came. Definitely will come back to try more items on the menu!

I've wanted Japanese katsu curry for YEARS now but there are no locations anywhere near where I live. Something I really appreciate about Japanese culture is that you can literally run into a restaurant like Genki at full speed on a work trip, on a weekday, get seated at a table immediately, get served a water, tea, your salad and soup immediately, and then, when you order a lunch combo, you can choose from sushi, hot food, or my beloved curry Katsu. And guess what... It is delivered immediately, hot, fresh, crispy, mild, Paris, just enough spice, tons of flavor... Just friendly service, and guess what... Very cheap! Check served immediately so I can get to my next meeting and I was satisfied for the day. Five stars would recommend to anybody.

The food quality is above average, the execution is high, and the service is attentive. The space is clean and efficient, but lacks warmth. We visited the day after a large 1-2 foot snowstorm, and Ochi was one of the only restaurants open in town. I've eaten at Ochi 4x since it opened in 2023, although there's a lot more to explore on its expansive and prolific menu. On this visit, we tried a Tuna Poke Bowl, a Salmon Pome Bowl, a Katsu Ramen, a Mango Salad, and a Mochi desert. Regarding the Tuna Poke Bowl, Ochi took the liberty of substituting more expensive fatty tuna (Toro), for regular tuna (Maguro), a generous and appreciated gift as a thanks for dining on a very slow night due to the storm. Hence, I would recommend everything we tried: the Mango Salad, any of the Sushi, Sashimi and Maki choices, the Poke bowls and Ramen (especially the Spicy Miso Ramen, the chicken Katsu Ramen, and any of the traditional pork or beef Ramen choices). In addition, the deserts are especially worth trying, and are all well orchestrated. You can't really go wrong at Ochi.

Location is great, there were able 2 employees working the front. Not really sociable with us but very chatty with each other. Pricing is a bit on the higher end for the quality for sure, out of 7 dishes between a group of 4 and 2 were for sure pre-made items only 2 dishes were ok. As for the food itself, I can say it's more on a "cleaner" side vs the extra flavor and oily texture you'd get from a fast food chain. The ramen broth was subtle, the noodle perfect, but the flavor wasn't there. The Chef special roll was way over priced for what you get, especially only having 1 piece being the best out of the "assorted" fish. The hibachi wasn't good in my opinion, good portion though. Would not order that again. The chicken teriyaki flavor was great, chicken texture was more like grilled on a pan vs over flame. Loved the veggies though. The gyoza and takoyaki were good as well as the strawberry mochi icecream. Wish they were more friendly though, making us feel like we were inconvenient for them was a major turn off.

Did a lunch visit with a friend, going our own way with lunch combos and adding a couple of full-order appetizers. -- Spareribs on the Bone: St Louis cut ribs with ruby red glaze, just a bit of char, and a clear honey glaze to sweeten things further. Not the meatiest, not the juiciest, and not the most tender, but they got the job done, thanks to the very pleasing flavor. These have the potential to be stellar at night. As sampled, above average to well above average, even with the flaws. -- Egg Rolls: Extra crunchy exterior and a soft, stringy assortment of both cabbage and celery for greenery, accented with pork. Above average. -- Chicken Wing (the included appetizer on a combo): Not dark of skin, but still crispy. A bit dry. Kinda plain, with discernible but light marinade. Average to slightly below average. -- Hot and Sour Soup: Not many mushrooms or other fillers. Mostly thick, weirdly gloppy broth and some scallions. Spice present, flavors good, textures not so good. Balances out to average. -- Szechuan Style Chicken with Peanuts: Other than having the two ingredients listed in the name, it didn't seem like similarly named dishes or kung pao. Pea pods standing in for celery. Chicken was high quality and the flavors were appealing, with spice coming through and a hoisin-equestrian undercurrent adding depth. A little above average even if different. -- General Gao's Chicken: My friend's lunch combo. He said it was heavy on the breading and had one-note sweetness. A mixed bag, but a worthy visit if you need something in the area. Lunch specials at $11.95 have a more than fair amount of food, so a good value. But it's those spareribs that'll bring me back. Attentive service. Parking in back of the building.

We walked into a cozy but polished space that makes it a comfortable spot whether we are stopping by for a quick bowl of ramen or sitting down for a longer meal. The restaurant puts a lot of effort into creating a welcoming environment, with a mix of warm decor, comfortable seating, and a lively energy that fits well for both casual dinners and meetups. The room stays energetic without feeling loud, and the layout makes it easy to settle in without feeling crowded. The menu focuses on ramen, pho, and Asian-inspired small plates. We found the ramen and pho broths to be lighter compared to some heavier ramen shops, with a clean and balanced flavor rather than an overly rich style. The tonkotsu ramen had a flavorful broth with a deep savory base, though some dishes leaned a bit on the saltier side. The noodles and toppings were solid, but the experience varied slightly depending on the dish we ordered. The egg rolls and red oil dumplings are popular starters, and we enjoyed them as a nice contrast to the noodle dishes, with the dumplings carrying a good amount of heat and the egg rolls staying crisp and well seasoned. The pho is another highlight, offering a lighter broth with a comforting, aromatic profile that felt more delicate than the ramen options. One thing that stood out was the service and hospitality. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the team did a good job creating a welcoming dining experience. They checked in at the right moments and kept the pacing of the meal smooth without making us feel rushed. The restaurant also felt approachable for different preferences, with options that work well for both ramen fans and people looking for Vietnamese-inspired dishes. The menu covers enough ground that a table with varied cravings can all find something that fits. Mecha Noodle Bar is a fun spot if you are looking for a modern take on Asian comfort food. It is not a traditional ramen shop, but the combination of ramen, pho, and small plates gives it a unique identity that sets it apart from single-cuisine spots. You can tell they care about how the food tastes. But here's where I have to be honest. The "share" plates? Not share plates. No way. These are single portions. Calling them shareable is a stretch. Big stretch. You're basically ordering individual meals, so just be ready for that. Pricing is questionable for these "shared" plates as well. Let's talk price. Two "share" plates, one KFC bao, a kids meal, 3 cans of soda, 1 non-alcoholic drink, and we're at $107 with tip. That's a little high for what you're getting, especially when the portions aren't really built to share like advertised. Overall? Good spot. Strong flavors, great service, solid vibe. Just go in knowing it's spicy, portions are smaller than expected for "sharing," and the bill adds up quick. Would I go back? Sure. I love when places actually have marinated fish as an option and their marinated tuna in addition to spicy salmon (actual cubes, not mush) were so flavorful even without the additional sauces. They do charge for quite a few premium ingredients since my siblings got custom bowls, but my signature bowl came with premium ingredients and for less in price.
