Geneva FL-A tiny little dive in the quaint town of Geneva. Not sure I'd return, but it was cool to check it out. We were headed to the Red Barn and decided to stop for breakfast/lunch. I actually wanted something off of the lunch menu, but she said they don't serve any lunch items until after 11. I had a BLT and wanted to add avocado, but they don't have avocado. (Odd) My girlfriend had a breakfast burrito and said it was just OK. I think they probably are a better lunch/dinner option than breakfast. I will add that the entire place could totally use a good scrubbing. The bathrooms were filthy too. read more

This is an old school, small-town General Store. It is located on the corner of State Road 46th and 1st Street in Geneva, Florida. They have a little dining area walk to the right and a very small convenience store type place to the left. They have some pre-made sandwiches ready to go. The woman behind the counter was friendly and it is good to see places like this still exist. Sometimes when you live in a major city, you forget that there is a whole world outside of gas station convenience stores and the like. The general store part does not have a lot of items. The dining room, though empty, seems to be the big focus on this place. I guess it would be more appropriate to call it the eating area because I did not see any servers. Well this is an old school, small town type thing, it does seem that the modern world is encroaching upon Geneva, Florida. This restaurant is like the heart of Geneva. It seemed almost everyone there was a regular and all knew each other. Victoria and mama were both so kind, funny, and awesome! We placed an order for Philly cheesesteak pizza and chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, homemade gravy, and green beans! Everything was delicious! We had a couple of drinks at the bar waiting for our food. It was a busy Saturday night with a band and we probably waited 45 min for food, but we had the best time socializing with regulars and just people watching! I had scrambled eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, and a biscuit for $6.99! The biscuits are homemade and I smothered mine with honey! The breakfast potatoes are made with red potatoes and were seasoned perfectly. The staff is friendly and efficient. The drinks are self-serve. I want to go back to try the lunch and dinner menu. Went with the family and it was great. Their pizza was surprisingly good. The kids burger was huge! I tried the country fried steak with white gravy and it was really good. The atmosphere brought back childhood memories. There was a retro Nintendo hooked up so my boys had fun playing Mario Bros while we were waiting for our food. I'm going to start this review by stating, Geneva is an extremely small town. We have two gas stations, an elementary school, post office and a fire department, that's really about it. Geneva General Store is nothing more than a place to buy a few bare essentials. However, they do have a very small restaurant in the back. The menu is quite limited, relatively cheap prices, and a few beers on tap. I've eaten there on a few occasions, the food is good, it's clean, the staff is very friendly. I wouldn't advise taking your significant other there for an Anniversary Dinner, but if you're just passing thru between Titusville and Sanford, stop by- grab a bite and throw back a cold one. read more

Holy cow! Stopped in on the way home from Sanford airport on a whim. Walking in it's definitely a hole in the wall. It looks like a general store with sporadic tables and chairs. Upon walking in instantly greeted by the lady behind the register. I asked what her favorite sandwich was, she responded Philly cheesesteak. I've had a lot of Philly cheesesteaks of my time so was a little apprehensive because of the hole in the wall. One word, wow! The meet was juicy, the vegetables tender and flavorful, the bun was buttered toasted with some seasoning, excellent! Pizza peppers and pipes Not much out this way unless you happen to like watching cows eat. When we walked into the store the young lady working asked us if we were lost and if we needed directions. I told her we weren't really looking for anywhere and were just exploring the area. She replied that if we were looking for nowhere we found it when we got to Geneva. Geneva isn't quite nowhere but it's pretty close. They do have a couple of cool stores and of course the Geneva General Store. Like most stores of this type in small towns everyone seems to know everyone else except us of course. Didn't matter because everyone was really friendly and we got to talking to the local folks quickly. Seems the store is as much a social club as a real store. This is what I would call an emergency store. Look at the inventory and it seems that they have one of everything, but only one. All kinds of pipes, tapes, tools and things to fix or hold together a car, boat or even a house until better repairs can be made. Lots of different types of food and edible things but usually only one or two of a certain item. A store that evolved out of necessity. Since we were hungry we decided to order a pizza. We are kind of spoiled when it comes to pizza because we come from Rhode Island, the pizza capital of the world. Our town literally has a great family owned pizza shop on every corner. However we were pleasantly surprised at our green and banana pepper pizza. It was quite good in a plain and honest sort of country way. This is a very unpretentious and honest place and it's exactly what it looks like. If anyone has ever been to Geneva it is a very small town and not a whole lot around. When driving through on Rt. 46 which I have done many many times over the years and when I go back to visit, this was a great general store to stop and pick up drinks and snacks. I remember they use to have the most amazing fried gizzards. I was never a fan before I had them here and have not had since having them here. Someone told me to try them and I got hooked. Met friends for lunch Sunday & what a disappointment. Not busy, ordered & sat down. Waited 45-50 minutes for a wrap, hamburger (made incorrect) bowl of chili & a simple 2 egg breakfast with bacon. Chili & burger came out, burger made wrong with burnt bun & had to send back. Had to ask for wrap & breakfast ordered yet other customers came in after us & got there food in minutes. Burger was being remade after everyone had eaten & was still terrible. Cooks excuse she had 4 other burgers to make & why I didn't have my reorder, who knows!!! Spent $25 for food that was the worst! So I have never previously had any issues with Geneva General Store. They have always been awesome which is why I still rate them four stars even though today's visit didn't go the way I thought it would. I ordered a philly pizza with no mushrooms and the spicy corn nuggets. The food was hot and fresh and I took it home with high hopes. My corn nuggets were very good. Unfortunately my pizza upon opening had mushrooms which I detest. Mushrooms are so vile to me that I had to dig through the pizza to get them all off. Now if I liked mushrooms I would have been in heaven because there were a ton on it. Now this is just something I expect from places from time to time. Now one last thing... upon my digging for mushrooms I noted what I thought was an air bubble in the crust in the center of the pizza. Me being the inquisitive type I poked it and noted it was hard. So I looked under the pizza... and behold a chicken wing had somehow gotten under the pizza and created that 'bubble.' I laughed but honestly was very confused on how this was missed by the cook lol I ate my secret chicken wing and noted it was quite tasty. General Store in Geneva - Good Local Eatery for lunch We were a group of twenty travelers who arrived here for lunch during a day trip one recent weekday. We descended on the restaurant just before peak lunch hour. Unfortunately, there was only one menu for all of us to peruse, so it forced us to choose quickly. Behind the ordering counter was a list of a variety of pizzas sold by the slice or whole pie but none of us ordered that. I guess that the locals all know what they want so there is probably no need for more than one menu, anyway. The menu was pretty varied and prices were quite reasonable. Do not expect anything fancy as this is a very unpretentious eatery. Although the wall decor is minimalistic, I was captivated by the large wall art of an alligator in a boat with two men. After we all finally completed our ordering, we easily found seats in the small but roomy restaurant. Several locals were already seated enjoying lunch but there was still plenty of room for all of us. Since so many of us arrived at one time, service was slow but we expected that. Food was served efficiently starting with the entrees that were the most popular. I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, $7.99 with fries and it was simply delicious. It filled me up and was hot when it was served to me. At my table, the Chicken Ranch Sandwich with Avocado was a popular choice as was the BLT. Another diner ordered Quesadillas and the final diner had a burger. Everyone was happy with her food; I heard no complaints from anyone. A sign outside mentioned wings so that might be another good choice for lunch. I understand that the pizza is good here, too. There is a plethora of snack foods to please anyone looking for such items. I would be surprised if you wanted something to drink and couldn't find it here. Choose from fountain drinks, canned or bottled drinks even lemonade or iced coffee among other beverages. If the weather is pleasant, consider dining on their back patio. As the name of the place implies, this is not only a eatery but also a General Store. Inside the store portion, you can also find a variety of still more beverages including soft drinks and beer. Find many of the basic necessities that you may suddenly need such as an emergency supple of toothpaste, tackle, bait, tools, tapes, cigarettes even small toys to keep the kids happy.
