My wife and I came in two nights in a row. Our first night we had Naomi as our server and she was great. My wife tried a 'beach bum beer' at her recommendation and it was really good. We loved the garlic knots and the pizza and wings. The second night we had Tracy and she was also really kind and helpful. First time visiting Backstreet and I have to say it was a nice experience. I had a veggie pizza (no cheese), my husband had the everything pizza and we got the doughballs for dessert. The pizza crust was perfect and those doughballs hit the spot! As we were finishing I mentioned that I was Vegan and the owner, Jon Mallinson, told me they do have Vegan cheese - they just needed to put it on the menu. Next time I'll be adding the Vegan cheese! Food was good and no complaints here. Our server, Tracy, was friendly. Two 4 tops came in at the same time. Ordered 4 18" pizzas and 3 were burnt on the bottom. Very disappointed as we visit the area each year and Backstreet was our go to for pizza. Would usually order 2 or 3 times during our 10 day stay. My parents live here and order from them all the time. Pizzas also seemed much thinner. Called the next day to let them know and all they said is they would look to adjust their oven. I've stopped by here more than once, but its been a while since the last time. We had noticed that they had a ready great deal on a pie this week and we've had a long da....so it seemed like an easy win. We ordered pick-up online. The ordering process was easy. We were able to select our pie and toppings, then use ApplePay to complete the order. The site told us 30 minutes and it would be ready. I arrived about 25 minutes after the order (5 min early); I walked in the door and despite there being 4 people who looked at me doing their various tasks, sweeping, taking a pie out of the oven etc no one even greeted me. I stood there for maybe 2 full minutes before a woman came out from the back area to greet me; it wasn't;t an huge wait, but just a weird way to run a business to keep a customer standing there w/o even acknowledging them. I told the woman my name for the pickup order and she retrieved it.....it was already done. We had ordered a bacon pizza here. I grabbed the pizza left and was on my way....all fairly easy. The pizza itself was OK, its about on par with a chain shop if I am being completely honest. Definitely worth a quick pick-up if you just want a decent pie (especially if its a deal - which it was), but not really anything to write home about in my opinion. Seems like that was my impression the previous times we've been there which is probably why its been a while. It most closely resembled an NY Style.....but it definitely was not that. All in all, the experiences was fine, the pie was fine. I know this restaurant is under new ownership. I did not visit this place under them, so I cannot speak to how good it was then. Almost feels like they should have a do-over with the reviews! I was making it a point to try different restaurants here in Oviedo during this pandemic, so I thought I would give Backstreet Pizza a shot. They have a special on Tuesday, $10 for a large 18" cheese pizza. You can add a topping for $2.50. I decided to try a Pepperoni pizza, and I really enjoyed it! It is NY style pizza, the crust is thin and foldable. What I personally like in my pizza is when the crust is perfectly browned on the outside for a little crunch, but still nice and soft on the inside. I don't want the crust to be too soft and "bready". Often times I will get a pizza from somewhere that is perfect the first time I get it, and then wildly inconsistent when I get it again. I was very pleased that Backstreet has been very consistent and the pizza has been cooked perfectly each time I order. I thought the sauce had a great flavor, and the cheese was cooked (and portioned) perfectly! I like extra cheese as much as they next guy, but I hate when the cheese slides off the crust when you eat it. Again, it has been consistent each time, and it has been a great experience to order from here! My only issue is that I have enjoyed it so much that I stopped thinking about going anywhere else for pizza! read more

This store is under new management. I ordered a pizza and a antipasta salad. When I went to pick up my food there was no sign requiring customers to wear mask. NONE of the workers were wearing masks or using gloves. There were 2 other people there getting take-out NONE of them were wearing masks. I was the only one there wearing a mask. I WILL NOT RETURN SINCE THEY DON'T SEEM TO CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. Anthony's Pizza is just a couple minutes up the street. The last atime I was at Anthony's they still were practicing social distance and all the workers were wearing masks and other protective gear. read more
