It had been years since I'd visited Christo's and it did not disappoint. Our party of 4 arrived just before 6pm on a rainy Friday night and were seated right away. Our food came pretty fast and we both enjoyed large pizzas. My husband and I split a large pizza with chicken, spinach, and garlic. Wow it was amazing! Beware the pizza is pretty thin though so I wouldn't recommend splitting with more than 2 people. We were seated right next to the dessert case, which made it hard for us to say no. The brownie/strawberry cheesecake was amazing. The inside gives diner vibes and the outside offers nice seating when the weather is well. The menu is very large and we will be back to eat pizza and try something new.

Custom made calzone with homemade sauce

Should you ever walk about downtown Sanford this hole-in-the wall is worth a pit stop. The pizza and calzones are where it is at. I'm not an expert with bread but I will say you can just taste how much better than Sbarro's it is. It can't even be compared honestly. I've had the pizza before so this time I decided to try the calzone. I do enjoy theirs but my number one will still be Prato (because rats just kidding). For me, the calzone was amazing. Piping hot and fresh from the oven. The bread was wonderful. They custom made my calzone for me with eggplant and ricotta cheese. The marinara sauce was home made. I asked for a second serving of the marinara because I don't skimp on sauce, especially anything tomato based. My friend raved about their pecan pie which is home made. I was out of the caloric space to try some. The service is excellent. Very caring and personable. Please stop in and support this local business. Their food is excellent, the service is excellent. It is a more casual dining establishment but you can sit outside on the patio and watch people walk the cobblestones streets and eat a baclava.

This place had wonderful service and a cute atmosphere. I unfortunately didn't enjoy my gyro as the gyro meat wasn't the typical shaved and flavorful meat. It seemed to resemble deli slices like another reviewer mentioned, and lacked flavor and the tender bite you'd expect. The meals also come with chips and to replace with fries or another side it's an upcharge. The same deli type meat came on the gyro nachos which I was excited for. I'd have preferred if there were more toppings on the pita with a little less sauce Overall everything tasted freshly made but the food was a bit average to me.

French onion soup was amazing. Burger was okay, comes with chips. It's an extra $6 if you want fries with it which we felt was a tad high, went with the chips instead. Our waitress was night, answered all of questions. We ate outside on the patio which was clean and very pretty.

I love this place so much I bring anyone that visits here. As soon as you walk in it feels so cozy and homey. The service feels like family and the menu has lots of choices and you really can't go wrong with anything. I love the friend mac and cheese omg it's sooo good make sure you get that to start! I got the penne alla vodka I put the sausage and mushrooms on the side. My boyfriend got the lasagna and both were delicious. We got the chocolate cake to finish off. All their cakes and pies are always delicious, def get a cheesecake if they have it!

Cute place! We sat outside during the love your mother festival. Our service was attentive, even though we were outside and they were pretty busy inside. Burger was delicious and some really good fries. We had the pepperoni roll as an appetizer, and it was good as well. Decently priced. Didn't get to try the cookies, but there was an entire case of them so we definitely will be back.

Gyro and fish and chips

First time here - service was great but food not so much - had the fish and chips and the fish tasted old and almost metallic- not sure type of fish it was - the fries were great though!! Also had the traditional gyro which was ok but didn't have any lettuce???! Also got a personal margarita pizza that was undercooked but sent it back to be cooked a bit longer and it was better but still not a good margarita pizza - pretty sure we won't be back unfortunately - service was a 4 and food was a 2

Ultimate ULTIMATE TRADITIONAL GYRO

Before visiting Christo's, we had stopped at Zorba's down the street. After being informed that we could not have lemon in our water due to "Covid restrictions" and also finding out we would have to order from the expensive dinner menu (no lunch menu on weekends), and not being able to find a gyro on the menu we left the almost empty establishment. What a difference at Christo's!!! We were immediately rewarded with water that had real lemon wedges and a nice cold beer, draft. We easily found the Ultimate Gyro on the lunch menu and were promptly served with it. We got one "Fat Boy Style" and one as the default. The default is ruffled potato chips and garlic pickles, not as pictured with fries on the menu. The with fries option is almost as the Fat Boy option, so we got that. It includes fries, an onion ring and a cheese ball. The gyros were good. They did not have much oregano in the meat or elsewhere and the Kalamata olives were not brined. The toppings were not well distributed. But the sandwiches arrived very promptly and with the right sides. Our very attentive and efficient waitress had recommended trying the cheese balls as being "popular and very unique". The one that came with Fat Boy Style was not something I've had elsewhere. It was like those big cheese balls you can make for a party with a core ingredient of cream cheese with grated cheeses mixed in. Then it was coated in panko and fried. I was glad we only got one, it was about 5 rich bites. The firecracker sauce was mild and kept the ball from tasting overly dry. It was a little like Thousand Island dressing. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 3 was that the place had a very positive vibe, the staff were so good, and I wanted to go back and try more. I saw Greek pastries freshly baked, many Italian favorites, including very popular pizza and the place was warm and welcoming on a chilly morning. If I lived in Sanford, I would go back for sure. We were there for the Porchfest, and so we did not linger but joined in the festival after that.

When we realized there was a clothier (separate) and market, we were in! Both the clothier and market have separate store entrances and are distinct in their offerings. The clothier has hats, ornaments, Knick knacks and all sorts of clothing including everything you need to be kitted out for Octoberfest! The market is so worth stopping at. They offer deli sandwiches and baked goods in a counter service fashion, different than the sit down meals at their restaurant. There's also a lovely wine and beer area that is well stocked ! Get the crème puff. It's light and airy and perfect to be shared. There are so many candies, cookies, sweets and essential German products that you'll want to take one of everything home. They have the widest selection of Haribo products I have ever seen in one place. The merchandising makes everything just so appealing. I encourage anyone in the area to stop by.

The lot is small, shares spaces with several other businesses in the same plaza, and is butted up against 17-92, making difficult to enter and exit easily. On my most recent visit, I needed two subs that I could save for dinner later that evening after the Creed concert in Tampa. Yes, we plan that far in advance, lol! It's always a burden to find a place to eat before and after a major concert, so we bring the cooler and our own food/drinks and save $$$$, time, and aggravation. I used a coupon - two footlongs for $12.99. The options are limited now, since the majority of subs are specialty subs and are not part of the promotion. I guess that's how they get you now. So my choices are Italian BMT, Turkey, Cold Cut Combo, Meatball, and I think Tuna. I ended up going with the Italian BMT and the Hotshot Italian, which is basically the BMT with hot peppers on it. The young lady working the counter was friendly, and was very conscious about washing her hands and putting of fresh gloves before making our sub's, great job! Unfortunately they only had two options of bread - wheat and white, bummer. I didn't realize I forgot to ask the server to add mayo, mustard, and spicy mayo to the sandwiches until we began eating our sub's later that day. Nancy's like why are these so bland. Totally my fault, but I do have to say the wheat bread has no flavor at all, without condiments, the sub bread is just meh. All and all, the restaurant was clean and they did a great job making my subs. Its too bad they were out the better bread options so early in the day (10:00am), and I wish they offered more variety with the coupons. Ultimately, I recommend them if you are looking for a meal at a much lower cost to eating at a sit-down restaurant.

We shared the Philly cheesesteak with no mushrooms, mango habanero chicken bites (8 ct) with sauce on the side, and garlic knots. He asked if we wanted the knots to come out first - and we said yes, that's a great idea! The cheesesteak came out first - with mushrooms. We had to send it back. Then the chicken bites came out second - with the sauce tossed in. We were shy to send it back because we are still waiting for the cheesesteak to be remade. Lastly, the garlic knots came last (when we were offered for it to come first). Maybe we'll come back on another day when it's not so busy. Their cheesesteak was good in portion! Mango habanero was spicier than what I'm used to. Garlic knots were a win.
