    Mushroom risotto!

While the family had never been before, i preciously had take out from here before which introduced me to them! In store is a game changer though! The ambiance of a place is super important to my family, my parents don't care for the hard/ loud music stuff so the relaxing, gentle music was great! It was clean and neat as well! Food was a.m.a.z.i.n.g! I had the pleasure of having it with takeout and thought it was good, but in store was even better! Service was great too! The guy working the counter was attentive and enjoyable to talk to. We got to meet the owners I believe too and they were super nice :) The pizzas overall are a nice balance of toppings to crust. The risotto my brother got, while it tastes delicious, the truffle side was strong but it was yummy. And cheese bread, so delish and cheesy! Everything tasted fresh and vibrant. 10/10 Super happy family liked it though. This is someplace they all agreed to visit again

Slidders is a great addition to the downtown Maitland area! It's nice to have a casual pizza joint where you can order some pies to take home at reasonable price. Of course the dine in area is a cool and quaint spot. Very clean. I'd definitely classify it as a relaxed vibe in an inviting space. I could absolutely see myself hanging with some buddies and ordering some drinks over pies here. But on this initial visit, take out it was. I was really in the mood for pizza but wanted to stay close to home base so this worked out perfectly. I ordered online and was impressed with the available selection and customization options. The menu includes pre-determined pies or the option to build your own. I built my own and was impressed that it included up to four topping choices at no additional cost. I kept it basic with regular tomato sauce and loaded it with spinach, tomatoes, and ricotta. You even get to select how the pizza is cooked. I specified that I like my crust crispy and they delivered on that! All in all it was a solid pie at a wallet friendly cost. Nice crust and fresh toppings. I would say that the sauce wasn't exactly a traditional pizza sauce-it tasted almost like a fire roasted tomato sauce. I liked it but would have preferred a more basic tomato sauce. That aside, I'll definitely be back. I am excited to have a quick pizza stop on my way home. The staff was exceptionally friendly and provided great service.

4.5 Went in after work, had nothing defrosted for dinner, so I decided pizza it was. Went with the 8-inch pizza, which was freshly made while I waited. The scent of it as I went home was making me salivate. The cheeses of guidance, mozzarella, parmesan, and ricotta were perfect atop the crisp crust ($10). Quick and friendly service got me in and out with my order.

Amazing pizza and wings. My family was so impressed at hour crispy the pizza and wings were. They might the best wings out there... It's incredible that they cook everything in their ovens. They don't even have stoves in their kitchen. They seriously have mastered the art of baking their dishes. Their sauces are homemade and SO tasty. Definitely check them out for lunch or dinner and don't forget to get some gelato for dessert. They serve my favorite gelato in Orlando from Gelato Go! Thank you to John and staff for their amazing service! Can't wait to head back and get some more wings. - Sweet Honey Garlic Knots - Margherita Pizza - Carbonara Pasta Bowl - Mushroom Truffle Risotto - BBQ Wings - Parmesan Garlic Wings

The place is very clean and the staff are very friendly. Most importantly the pizza is so good. I really loved the crispy crust. The wings are super. We got the BBQ and the Garlic Parm Baked Wings. They're juicy and crispy. The Pasta and Risotto can be a little more al dente. The flavor was very good though. Don't forget The Gelato. I would love to go back and try out a variety of pizzas.

The interior kinda has a hipster-rustic vibe but with more comfortable chairs. Prices seemed reasonable. Service seemed a bit overwheled but again, I think the massive event letting out had something to do with that. I got a cheese board, truffled fries, fried chicken caviar, and a deviled affogato for dessert. My date for the creste di gallo and the olive oil citrus cake. Everything was was very good, with the standout being the fries; I know that truffle essence flavor isn't for everyone but it worked really well for me in the fry sauce. My dates pasta was also very good, the pesto sauce was zesty and complimented it well. And I really like the olive oil cake with mascarpone, super light and perfectly sweet. The very minor issues were that the fried chicken was pretty deeply fried and way harder than expected, which I don't mind but may not be your thing. Devil's food cake at the bottom of the affogato was also not as sweet as I would have liked. Overall a really enjoyable experience. Would definitely recommend.

5 Star update to include their incredible new food program! (Get the carrots and red cabbage salad…read moreand the pan con tomate STAT.) Quicksand is a natural wine bar that will change the way Orlandoans expect to feel at a bar. Pro-tip: ask the staff for suggestions and settle in! It's no secret that I've become a big fan of natural wine in the past few years, and that is 100% due to Golden Hour - a wine shop in Baldwin Park that I randomly discovered on their first day open. Heather, who brought us Golden Hour, opened Quicksand in late 2024 for those of us wondering why Orlando doesn't have a great wine bar like the ones we've seen in cities around the world for decades. ***Finding the bar: Quicksand is located directly next to Educe Salon (across from Black Bean Deli). It does not have a big sign, but it's the first door you'll see as you walk from the parking lot. ***Parking: Did I mention the large parking lot? There's plenty of parking available there, or on street behind the bar. ***Service style: As you walk in, head to the part of the bar closest to the entrance where you can get recs from their staff and don't have to try to bully your way through folks sitting at the bar to get their attention. ## Did I mention that everything here is intentional? From that simple detail that makes ordering another glass MUCH easier than flagging someone down in the middle of the bar, to the position of the speakers... *** The Food: Chef Leah Cordova has crafted a seasonal menu at Quicksand, currently consisting of sandwiches, small plates, and some heartier dishes. All of them have a focus on quality ingredients with many sourcing their components from local farms or special producers. My faves include: - Pan con tomate: The tomato here is actually a combination of fresh slices of small tomatoes as well as another preparation that adds a wonderful tang. It's truly a special version of this small dish. - Whichever salad they are featuring, but special mention to the carrot and red cabbage salad that has just the perfect amount of fennel! - The white bean dish. I didn't catch the name, but it's a winner! - Cacio e pepe: This is exactly the rich, creamy dish you are dreaming of. - Whichever ice cream they are featuring (Chef Leah also operated Sweet Thyme, her ice-cream project with inventive flavors. Faves include the black pepper and date as well as the carrot cake) ***Ambiance: As you walk in you'll feel enveloped in a warm glow of subtle sconces and feel immediately comfortable. It feels like Quicksand has always been here. It's unstuffy, unfussy, and so inviting it has me researching squatter's rights... The music will sound loud at first, but then you'll realize you don't have to raise your voice at all to talk to people. This is because the speakers have been built into the furniture low and towards the floor. INTENTIONALITY. Besides the volume, the playlist has been painstakingly curated by the team so that you'll enjoy the music, but not quite be able to place the artist. ***The WHY And now, my favorite part. The wall of farmers/winemakers. Someone on staff filled me in to the fact that these are portraits of the various human beings who farm, harvest, and create the wines you can get at the bar. These are actual people, not giant corporations. And that same staff member reminded me that these individual producers are farmers for 11 months and 2 weeks of the year, and wine makers for only 2 weeks. None of these people are household names. None of them are in it for the money. They are in it to produce beautiful wine the way it has been produced since the beginning of wine-making: with minimal intervention, meaning no insane additives that give me headaches; and no mass production. The thing I've come to love about "natural" wine is that it is intensely principled. Quicksand is what happens when *every single link* in the supply chain (Farmer/Producer; Importer; Distributor; and Wine Bar) prioritizes principles over profits. And you can feel it the moment you walk in. This is not a corporate chain, nor will you find multiple locations and franchises. Not only is the wine list filled with some of the most incredible bottles I've had the pleasure of trying (many of which you can't get anywhere else in Florida), but the staff truly believes in the power of creating this special "third space" for a community to gather around good, ethically-sourced wine. I can't wait until they start serving bites alongside the wine! (Someone told me the small menu will consist of cheeses, charcuterie, focaccia, chips, etc.) SALUD!

It was not too pepper forward (which I prefer). I was excited to try this out of the way wine bar, but was a little disappointed that their extensive list is more bottles and not by the glass. Just putting this out there for awareness since I will plan to come in for some food and be able to pair with a bottle of wine to explore the full experience. The staff was very knowledgeable about all of the different wines and helped to select the best glass for what I was in the mood for that evening. The bar was very clean and there is a lot more space then what you see when you first walk in. It was all very clean and modern looking inside. Looking forward to my next trip in.

The steak was tender and juicy, and the truffle Parmesan shoestring fries were perfect. For dessert we shared the bread pudding à la mode and a slice of carrot cake. They have comfortable seating and fans on the walls, which helped keep things cool and cozy. It's definitely a great spot to get together after work and wind down with friends, coworkers, or even new people. Trivia Night was a blast! The host kept everyone entertained, engaged, and laughing throughout the evening. It felt very well-organized and had a nice community feel -- I'd absolutely go again for that experience alone. A few things did surprise me, though. Since it's a wine bar, I expected mostly alcoholic drinks, but their Instagram made it seem like they also offered non-alcoholic options. When I asked for a soda, I was told they only serve alcohol -- no soft drinks, no mocktails. So if you're not drinking, plan to bring your own or grab something before you go. Later in the night, I got hungry. Their Instagram also gave me the impression that they served food, but they actually don't -- the food comes from a food truck around the back. When I went to order, the lady running the truck told me, "I'd rather sell out...," which threw me off. I wasn't sure what she meant, but it came across as rude or maybe even personal, which was disappointing since I was ready to buy something. That said, I don't hold that against Grape and The Grain itself. The staff inside were kind and welcoming, the crowd was friendly, and the overall vibe was great. For the atmosphere, comfort, and fun trivia experience, they get a full 5 stars from me. I'll definitely be back -- next time I'll just eat beforehand and bring my own non-alcoholic drink!

Came in late night just to check out their $10 Monday martinis. There was limited options to just a plain or dirty vodka or gin martini. No other variations or anything else from their cocktail menu was part of this deal. Blue cheese stuffed olives were a dollar a piece and tasted great but don't think I needed the 3 that was automatically given. They did seem hand stuffed with fresh blue cheese instead of the already made kind so it tasted better than most Having been to a few of their other Good Salt group restaurants, this definitely had their signature touch with all the details and the delicious menu. Getting the check seemed to be a task, no server in sight, and had to grab another employee to ask for it From just ordering waters and martinis, service was quite lacking.
