As I was leaving the parking lot my wife and I saw the Hyundai Calligraphy and it was a great looking SUV as well. We parked and as we were walking to the dealership front door we ran into Manny Rios who introduced himself as a Product Expert. My wife and I had a smaller SUV from a competitive brand that we had bought to fit in our 3rd garage door that was 2 years old and we also had a larger SUV from another competitive brand that we gave to our son. We have driven all the larger SUV brands in the last year with the exception of the Hyundai. We knew what we liked and were well versed on pricing and trade in values. Manny spent a lot of time with us and answered all our questions and then we took a test drive. We were impressed! The Calligraphy was incredible! After the drive Manny and I reviewed all details such as pricing, incentives and service. I was a V.P. of sales for 30 years with some of the larger companies in the US.     On Friday my 2024 Tucson had an issue. I'd rev the engine up and the car would barely move. I…read moreguessed the transmission was slipping. Transmissions can be expensive problems so I'm so glad this will be handled while it's well under warranty. I limped home with it and scheduled their next available appointment, 7:30 am Monday. Monday morning, the car drives ok on the way there. The service guy said he wouldn't be able to look at it until *at least* Wednesday. (Umm, ok, why isnt Wednesday your next available service date then?) I asked for a loaner. None were available, but he said get a rental and Hyundai will reimburse you. Days later the service guy called and said they couldn't replicate the problem. Driving in Dallas traffic waiting for my car to have no power again wasn't a great solution, but it was their only one. I understand they can't fix what they can't find, but the answer is look more, not stop looking. I call Hyundai to get my reimbursement and they won't because the work wasn't done. I call the service guy to see how people have handled this in the past and he had no advice. I said if I knew this was a possibility, I definitely wouldn't have left it for the first 2 days while no one was doing anything with it, or I would have re-scheduled it when they had a free loaner available. Service guy said he couldn't schedule a loaner. How I would have handled it: 1. Advised me there was a possibility the rental wouldn't be reimbursed when I dropped it off. 2. Show empathy for my side of this. My car isn't fixed. I'm out some money and a lot of hassle. 3. Escalate the issue. 4. Offer a creative solution. "This is an unusual situation, so I really went to bat for you. We tried, but we can't do anything about the corporate reimbursement policy, however, we want to do something for you at the dealership. I asked my boss if I could offer you 4 free oil changes. Thats about what you spent on the rental. We value your business and I hope this shows that." Or something, anything... just convince me you care. I've bought 2 Hyundais in the last 6 months and owned 5 total. A "so-what" attitude and $411.75 for a car rental is what it took to stop that streak.

Long story short I found a car at a different dealership that was hard to find, they were a bit stiff and offered me below value what KBB said I could get for my great condition low mileage car with premium package. The dealer where I was getting the car I wanted (I'll just say it - Audi Plano!?#$% Avoid them at all costs if you want a FAIR deal) they offered me a RIDICULOUSLY below average amount - what KBB suggested. I walked out frustrated and tired physically and mentally. Thank God I noticed Carmax nearby and thought Why Not? I walked in, there was very much a dmv feel to it Lots of people, sitting everywhere, lot's of traffic in and out. There was a monitor with peoples names/appointment times at the front desk. I thought, wow how am I going to get an appraisal on a weekend with all these people? When it was my turn the guy was very nice and said no problem, we can do that for you and he re-directed me to the business window which was nearby. I was still skeptical and cranky given what I had been through at another dealership. Business desk had a lot going on too, but they seemed to be in good spirits with each other and the people who approached them! Complete opposite from previous dealer. I was greeted by Micah (sp?) who was seemed relaxed despite the busyness, she told me how appraisals worked in a matter of fact way, when I hesitantly asked how long all this would take, she quickly said it should be no more than 30 mins with a confident smile. I was still skeptical but refused to give away my car for the measly amount the other dealer offered me. Well, I went to the bathroom, people watched and yeah about 30 mins later, she came back with my appraisal quote! way more than MORE than what the stingy dealer down the street was offering me and ABOVE KBB !! If I didn't want the other car so bad at A/P, I would've gladly told them to touch grass! But unfortunately they had what I needed. I would have felt much better to have bought from Carmax, everyone I encountered there was friendly, professional and got things done in a great amount of time! I want to thank Micah again for being so patient with me and explaining things while I was under great personal stress and timelines as well (death in the family, trade in car papers expiring etc). I sold my beloved car to Carmax in Plano, had a GREAT experience from beginning to end and wanted to let them know I appreciate them being a positive part in such a stressful weekend for me.     What an easy and great experience to sell my old car. Went on line saw how much they would offer…read moreset up an appointment and less than 30 minutes later walked out with a check. Staff all friendly and respectful. Large clean show room. This was easy the price they gave me fair.

    BUYER BEWARE!!!!! This was the most expensive and worst…read moreexperance that I had for purchasing a car. I found a car for my 16 year old son and asked for a few things to be repaired. The dealership agreed to the repairs. I had to continuously call the dealership to see when it was ready. Not one employee from the dealership tried to contact me during this time. I had the same answer everytime "waitng on a part be ready in a few days". Three weeks later I was able to pick up the car. The works was done, but not what I would call quality work. I had to go back and fix a few thing they were to handle. We had the car for a few days when we sharted to see some issues. I took it to a shop and a few thousdand dollors later the car was running. I was not expecting to have to spend that much more on repairs. Now we have the car for about 2 weeks and trouble again. The transmission went out!!! I do not have state tags yet and still on the 1st tank of gas. AND A CAR THAT DOES NOT WORK!! I called the dealership to ask what they can do to fix this. The response was to bring the car to the to look at. The car does not drive!! I asked several times if they are going to repair the car and they would not answer the question. I tried sever times to call the manager, even left my name and number to call me. No call back, I had to go to the dealership ahd get the manager. I explained the issue with him. In short they are not going to do anything. I was told it's your problem now. As stated on there website "At Gulliver Auto Group, we specialized in offerong reliable, high-quality Japanese vechles." I did not get a quality car. The manager at the dealership even told me that that car is know to have transmission issues, just before he said it was my problem. You knew that this car has transmission issues and this dealership still sold it to me and didn't mention it. With the amount I have already spent and more to spend on the car, I could have bought my son a better quality car.
