Beef Wellington, hubby said it was the best he's had.

What a great find! We found this restaurant the day before we went back home. Made reservations for 5pm, and it was great. The dinner rush had not started, so the room where we sat only had another couple dining. The ambiance was great for holding a conversation. It was well lit, tables clean and orderly. Our server was very attentive. We had the Beef Wellington and the Steak Frites. The only thing I would changed would've been roasted vegetables instead of the salad that came with the steak frites. The plate was hot, so the mixed greens welted and just didn't taste good after a while. The steak and fries were excellent, cooked perfectly to my liking. If we ever come back to this town, we're definitely visiting again. Loved it! Also highly recommend their Franklin Mint cocktail . Perfect ending for a great meal.

We held our son and future daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner at the General Warren. It was perfection from start to finish. Patrick was flawless through all the planning and Tim executed every detail on the day of the event. Three extraordinary servers made sure the 39 guests felt at home and every ask was responded to. Being able to select five starters and five entrees ahead made for a very special menu that complimented the wedding reception perfectly. Guests haven't stop raving at the quality and flavor of all the food. Several of our guests were from Maryland and actually said they would be returning for special dinners at the General. We concluded the evening with a selection of delicious mini desserts served family style. The perfect end to a perfect dinner celebration. You can't go wrong with the General Warren for any special events or just a memorable dinner with the ones you love most. Thanks to Patrick and Tim for setting the stage for an amazing wedding weekend!

A wonderful restaurant and B&B with historical significance. The beef Wellington is quite popular and did not disappoint. It was cooked perfect, medium rare and the grade of meat was top quality. The beef Wellington paired nicely with their house cab. I also enjoyed their snapper soup, might be my favorite in the area so far!! They have a fine selection of dessert items, I recommend their version of the German chocolate cake!! Their crème brûlée is also quite good!!

Overall, The Jockey is solidly average when it comes to food, service, and ambiance. Nothing outstanding, but nothing terrible either. Where The Jockey truly shines, though, is its Happy Hour value, which is easily the best in the area. Drinks are a great deal compared to nearby spots: half off all beers on tap, plus discounted house wine and cocktails. The Happy Hour appetizer selection is larger than most, and the quality is surprisingly good. Buck-a-shuck oysters! Only one variety, but for a dollar, you can't complain. Bonus points for offering Happy Hour on weekends, which is rare. If you're in the area during Happy Hour, it's absolutely worth stopping in.

My reviews are different. I do not announce myself or tell anyone. I am here to do a review!!…read more It was my birthday week, and unfortunately, my Tesla had been vandalized. True to my nature as a "prior proper planner," I already had an appointment scheduled in West Chester, so I headed down to get the repairs underway. While I waited, I decided to find some local eats. A quick Google search led me to The Jockey just outside of Philadelphia. The reviews mentioned it was a family-owned joint, and the decor looked incredibly inviting. The aesthetic actually reminded me of The Polo Bar in NYC; it has that same sophisticated, equestrian charm. Personally, I love horses--I know all the horses in the world, and they know me--and I know the horses. so I was eager to check it out. My mother picked me up from the dealership, and we "galloped" our way down to the restaurant. The Food I was surprised to find the place packed at 12:30 PM on a Tuesday, but I assumed we had just hit the peak lunch rush. We started with the calamari, my mother ordered a sandwich, and I opted for the salmon with drunken noodles. Honestly, I think the chef in the back was more "drunk" than the noodles. * The Salmon: It arrived super crisp and borderline burnt. * The Calamari: Overcooked, greasy, and wet--it felt like it hadn't seen a strainer or a paper towel since leaving the fryer. * The Sauce: The marinara was watery, almost as if the back-of-house was running low and decided to stretch it with water. The Verdict The only saving grace was the aesthetic. The decor is lovely, and they have a very inviting event space in the basement. However, you can't eat the wallpaper. * Food: 2/5 (A hard pass on the kitchen's execution.) * Service: 3/5 (The staff never checked on us while we were eating.) * Location/Convenience: 4/5 (Close to everything in a great area.) I likely won't be visiting this place again. I'm genuinely surprised this is a local favorite in such an upscale area--perhaps the locals just haven't ventured out enough to know what they're missing.

Nice to have that history, and it's a charming spot - not modern like Sly Fox also in town, but I really appreciate the dive vibes! Each of us ordered a beer (I ordered an Icelandic one, which was quite nice), pretty great price on beer IMO, and the food was on point as well. I ordered chicken wings with buffalo sauce, and they tasted great! Service was pretty great - our server was attentive and swung by a good amount of times to check on us, as we sat in the corner to try to have a little less noise vs being right by the bar. ENVIRONMENT Cute and cozy are the first words that come to mind when walking into the breakfast nook. The environment can best be described as the dining room of a cottage. There was ample seating and a sense of familiarity that instantly makes you feel at home. FOOD Bomb coffee!!!! I have to start there. While I was waiting for my food I heard several quips amongst the regulars about the quality of the coffee and I decided to take the dive myself. I was NOT disappointed. The other standouts were the turkey sausage and THE PANCAKES. There's no shortage of breakfast spots along Mainline both commercial and locally owned. Julie Anne's stands out for the warm environment and well-made comfort food. Happy eats!
