I've been wanting to go to Gemini's for quite some time now and I finally got the opportunity during this trip to Idabel. The locals know what they're talking about, and Gemini's knows what they're doing. We chatted with Mel's wife at the checkout for a bit and she gave us a brief history lesson. This place has been around since 1969 and unbeknowst to many, it's not named after a zodiac sign, but instead after a spacecraft! Ha. She also told us that their catfish is top notch and lacks the black gummy part. They order from the same place as Catfish King. I'll have to return and try their Friday special. My parents shared the Gemini special stack w/their eggs on the side (portions are huge - come hungry!). I ordered pancakes and eggs and they were delish. Our waitress was Jackie and she was amazing and attentive. I thought she was the owner for a sec 'cause she handled everything which such care! This is a 5 star diner, but my pork eating days are over and I wished so badly I could have ordered a beef or chicken sausage or turkey bacon to accompany my breakfast. I understand this is the town preference though, but I hope they consider it. Gonna give an honest 4 stars for that because people do pass through, and ya just never know. When we asked if they carried a non-pork breakfast meat, Jackie chuckled and said "no, we don't have anything healthy here" when I asked. I had to chuckle myself too, 'cause I do know where I am. It's hard to go to a relative's house in town and eat healthy, let alone a restaurant. Nonetheless they're good peeps and good eats. I enjoy home-cooked meals and I love a diner that can make you feel at home. Gemini's has the touch with quick and friendly service. Bring cash though, no cards accepted.

If me and my husband get breakfast, we go to Gemini. The service is great, and the food is too.

Right off the bat, their draft beer machine wasn't working, so we stuck with water and a soda. After being seated, there was a noticeable delay before our waitress came back. She explained she was dealing with an issue on another customer's credit card, which slowed things down. We started with the fried pickles. They were very good. Crispy, well-seasoned, and cooked right, but the portion felt a little light for an appetizer. For the main, we shared the Oklahoma country fried steak with mashed potatoes and white gravy. That was the highlight. The steak had a solid crust with good flavor, and everything on the plate was done right. No complaints there. Overall, the food was strong, especially the country fried steak, but the service and the draft beer situation held it back some. If they tighten that up, it'd be a much better experience.

The drinks were okay and very average - it wouldn't keep us away or bring us back! As an appetizer, we had the fried Swiss cheese. It was definitely different and interesting in comparison to your mozzarella, but it was cool to try! I wouldn't reorder. My husband had a 8oz. Sirloin with a side of corn and I had the chicken tenders with fries. The chicken tenders were delicious, but the frozen crinkle cut fries dampened the whole meal - for almost $20 for chicken tenders, I would've loved some house made or hand battered fries! The rolls with each meal were good, but could've used some butter! The steak was well cooked and the corn had good flavor! Everything was mediocre overall, we would likely come back on account of the chicken tenders, but wouldn't run back for anything else.

It seems like that they have a lot more dining space too. I don't know if we really ever been charged extra for any condiments, I know that when we asked for extra butter or something like that we have received plenty of it. When I had a food choice dilemma, the server usually would give me both if it was a small order of something at no extra cost. They always go the extra mile to satisfy us. Today we even paid for an elderly couple's bill, and slid out the door without them knowing about their bill being take care of by us. Hopefully it made their day. We can't afford to do that often, but if we see a Veteran or an elderly couple, just our way of thanking them without them knowing who did it. But we love the new location and as always tip the staff well when they do good.

The food was good and the manager came by to check on us. We had chicken and waffles, shrimp & grits, that turkey sandwich and a cinnamon roll. The shrimp & grits could have used a little bit more sauce, perhaps on the side. They had a few large TVs on as well to keep the kids attention. Overall, I would recommend this place. A Must-Try Spot for Brunch Lovers!…read more This place quickly became one of my favorite spots for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. The atmosphere is upbeat and welcoming--perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a solo meal with great vibes. The food? Fantastic. The menu is creative, fresh, and full of unique flavors that set it apart from your typical brunch fare. There are tons of thoughtful gluten-free options that actually taste amazing--not just the bare minimum. From inventive egg dishes to seasonal veggie sides, every bite felt intentional and flavorful. The service was equally impressive--friendly, knowledgeable, and super accommodating. Our server made great suggestions and made sure everything was just right, including pointing out which dishes could be made gluten-free. Bottom line: If you're looking for a fun, flavorful, and welcoming place for brunch or lunch, this one is worth every visit. I'll definitely be coming back!
