Fantastic breakfast. Very nice people who care about their product. Probably the best place we ate at all weekend while visiting Broken Bow.

Tucked into the left-hand side of the modern Hochabow shopping center--right next to the chocolate shop--it's the kind of place that feels intentionally hidden, like it's saving itself for people who truly appreciate good coffee. The baristas are genuinely friendly in that effortless, warm way that makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. You can tell they care about what they're doing, and it shows in the coffee: the beans are spot-on, balanced, and brewed with the sort of consistency that makes every sip feel purposeful. The space itself is cozy in the best possible sense--not cramped, but thoughtfully arranged so you can settle in with your laptop, linger over a cup, or just enjoy a quiet moment before heading back out into the world. It's a natural "stay awhile" spot, perfect for a few hours of work or an unhurried conversation. If you're in the Hochatown/Broken Bow area and want a place that feels like a calm, caffeinated retreat, Local Habit is absolutely worth the stop, in fact we went twice during our 4 day stay. It's the kind of coffee shop that becomes a part of your routine before you even realize it.

You can order pancakes, omelettes/eggs, hashbrowns, biscuits, and gravy, grits, bacon, sausage, ham, cup of Joe, and OJ. The staff are busy, busting each table with a small smile in hard-working attitude. You'd expect them to call you, hon, sweetheart, or get your order right sweetie. That decor/atmosphere is diner in Oklahoma feels. Breakfast is not served all day from 7 AM to 10:30 AM so we ran quickly and got there at 10:20 to order our veggie omelette with biscuits and gravy and an order short stack, and a cup of Joe. I was given the side eye when I was trying to mix my protein shake so remember this is Oklahoma not bougie or upscale healthy food vibes. They do serve lunch, which it quickly switched over at 10:30 only food I saw from then on out was lunch burgers and etc.. We asked a local word to eat, and this was basically the only place they said to come. You see yourself the waitress brings your menu then you just order, sit and chat then foods brought to you then you pay at the counter. I'd definitely come back. The food was as mentioned typical diner food and it hit the spot.

We had short stack (the pancakes are HUGE!!!) with crispy bacon and grits, and the egg plate combo that included a delicious homemade biscuit (one of the best I've ever had!!) hash browns, and small gravy. So glad we made this stop and will most definitely be back next time we visit this area!

Right off the bat, their draft beer machine wasn't working, so we stuck with water and a soda. After being seated, there was a noticeable delay before our waitress came back. She explained she was dealing with an issue on another customer's credit card, which slowed things down. We started with the fried pickles. They were very good. Crispy, well-seasoned, and cooked right, but the portion felt a little light for an appetizer. For the main, we shared the Oklahoma country fried steak with mashed potatoes and white gravy. That was the highlight. The steak had a solid crust with good flavor, and everything on the plate was done right. No complaints there. Overall, the food was strong, especially the country fried steak, but the service and the draft beer situation held it back some. If they tighten that up, it'd be a much better experience.

The drinks were okay and very average - it wouldn't keep us away or bring us back! As an appetizer, we had the fried Swiss cheese. It was definitely different and interesting in comparison to your mozzarella, but it was cool to try! I wouldn't reorder. My husband had a 8oz. Sirloin with a side of corn and I had the chicken tenders with fries. The chicken tenders were delicious, but the frozen crinkle cut fries dampened the whole meal - for almost $20 for chicken tenders, I would've loved some house made or hand battered fries! The rolls with each meal were good, but could've used some butter! The steak was well cooked and the corn had good flavor! Everything was mediocre overall, we would likely come back on account of the chicken tenders, but wouldn't run back for anything else.
