    NY Style 18" Pepperoni - $17.99
    Cody P.

We're not regulars of Gemelli's, but we checked the place out a few times. This is some of the best quality pizza we've found in Syracuse. Like most of the greats though, you're going to pay for it. First of all, their menu is fully loaded for a pizzeria. Any side, sub or salad that's ever accompanied pizza is on the menu here. They've got a great selection of specialty pizzas too. The pizzas on the menu are priced at medium, but where else can you upgrade to a NY Style 18"? The leftover slices barely fit into our fridge. The first time we went, we combined the chicken parm and eggplant parm pizzas. It was phenomenal - exactly what we were going for. Breaded chicken and egg plant together at last. We got an 18", and I think we paid about $35.00 for it. The wings were also top notch, but $1.59 / wing is a hard sell at any quality. We came back at some point to try a standard pepperoni. We got it in 18" because we're not terrible people. The pizza is pretty thin without specialty toppings, but the ratios are all right. Just the right amount of greasy, cheese is soft without being too rubbery, dough is thin without being too weak. This is the kind of pizza we like to douse with all the shakers until it's beyond recognition. We'd ditch most other places for Gemelli's if we could pay $50+ every time we got pizza. It tops most places in quality, but the gap isn't usually big enough to cover the extra cost.

They have a rotating menu that they list on their website (www.saltcitybread.com). By the time I got there mid-afternoon, they were sold out of their seeded (sesame, pumpkin, and sunflower seeds) sourdough. Plain sourdough loaves are $10 and the sourdough with inclusions are market price and range from $12-14 it seems. I got their chocolate chip cookie (with flaky salt from Syracuse Salt company) for $3.25, and it was delicious!! Thick cookie with crisp edges and a soft, fluffy center. Huge chocolate chips too! The flaky salt brings a nice balance as well. Will definitely be back!

This little bakery is very cute and offers a selection of different breads as well as sweets. The service is excellent and welcoming. These people know how to do bread WELL. I have tried their italian bread, focaccia, and their braided sesame bread-- which are all phenomenal! They have some sandwiches on their menu as well as some coffee available. On this occasion we ordered: - Braided sesame bread: this is my absolute favorite bread here. The presentation is beautiful, and the bread reminds me of a more savory challah with some salted olive oil hints that remind me of focaccia. The softness of the bread and the density make it so satisfying. It is perfect with both sweet and savory pairings. Super addictive--a loaf usually does not last longer than a day in our household. - Turkey sandwiches: we got a whole sandwich split into two halves. Size is pretty generous and one half is definitely enough for one person. This sandwich, although simple, stands out for its high quality ingredients. It came with generous sliced turkey that was not too salty, delicious gouda cheese, high quality mayo, fresh tomatoes and lettuce. The white bread is made in-house and feels super fresh and fluffy. They were super nice and gave us two bags of chips to compliment our dinner even though we technically ordered only one sandwich. We got it split into two separate containers and my fiancé and I each got our own pickle! Perfect option to get to-go. - Peanut butter cookie: I initially wanted to try the chocolate chip but they sadly ran out. However this was actually an amazing cookie. The thickness was perfect, not too thick and not too thin. It had nice bits of peanut butter and the cookie itself was super buttery, soft but with a nice caramelized crust, and not too sweet. There was a surprise Reeses PB cup in there which was very pleasant. Very good cookie! Cannot wait to come back and try their chocolate chip one. Overall, this bakery is a 10/10 and a very great asset to the area. Even though their selection is limited, I think they really focus on doing the few things they do VERY well. I love how local and homey this business feels. Their baked goods are all amazing and I will continue supporting them whenever I am in Manlius. Highly recommend Salt City Bread! You will not regret it.

They also own Chelsea's Restaurant & Bar located across the parking lot from E.A.T., at the corner of Velasko Road. This 1,600-square-foot café is a cross between their full-size diner and the coffee shop. A counter stretches the length of the front windows with tall stools and plenty of charging stations for electronics. The dining room also has eight tables that each seat four customers. My wife and I met some friends at E.A.T. for the first time recently. It's a nicely decorated cafe, plenty of parking lot spaces available. We were able to easily get a table for 5. We all placed our orders, which were brought quickly. I ordered the chicken & waffles special, while my wife ordered the country biscuit dish. The chicken & waffles was said to have a hot honey maple syrup, but there was no heat to the syrup at all. The chicken was chicken tenders, which was fine, but they did not have a very good texture - they were somewhat rubbery and full of tendon. My wife enjoyed her biscuits, but her, and the rest of the table, agreed that their home fries were undercooked and grainy. We also tried their Lucky Charms special latte, which was good. Prices were decent, employees were mostly friendly. Not sure it's a place we would go out of our way to give another try.

Hours are from 7-1 most days I love love love the ambiance of this little cafe. They always have some relaxing music playing and the interior design feels so groovy! I'm a big fan of Recess coffee, this cafe uses the same coffee so they're winning in my book already. Plenty of flavor choices to choose from with a pretty extensive breakfast/lunch menu as well. Today I got an iced latte with marshmallow. Their marshmallow flavoring is closer to a toasted marshmallow and I think it compliments the espresso well. I usually get a bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant. But today went out of my typical order and got their special Breakfast tacos! And I loveddd them! The pancakes were soft, I enjoyed the mix of sausage bits and pepperoni bits, the eggs were scrambled. I hope they keep them on the menu for a while longer so I can get them again If you've got a few extra dollars, I suggest trying them out!

We found the Elf in the Oak on Yelp and once we saw the menu, we knew we had to give it a try. The Elf in the Oak is nestled on Rt 414. If you're not actively using a GPS, you may pass it by. It's not a large place by any means, but there's more than enough seating indoors and out. We went on a Friday morning, so there wasn't a wait and we received our food quickly. We both wanted 'the Spicy' and I have to admit, it's one of the best egg sandwiches I've ever had, which is high praise coming from someone who once worked at a popular bagel joint on Long Island. If we lived locally, we'd definitely go back, but I hope if you're looking for a quick casual brunch place to grab a bite, you consider visiting the Elf In The Oak.

The schnitzel sandwich was also very good. The fries, at $8 as a side were not worth it, I would have rather ordered another sandwich than got two sides of fries. The chips were also almost flavorless, except that of 99% fresh oil. The kids grilled cheese was American cheese, and thus, imho, was not very good. One of my kids took a bite and didn't like it either. Ambiance: simple, nice view of the lake. Service: friendly staff. Tl;DR: I'll be back, but won't order sides or the grilled cheese.

The grilled chicken did not have any flavor to it but once mixed into the salad it was good. The stand out for me was definitely the bread pudding. It had layers of fresh apples in between and was very moist. I really enjoyed this and even cold it was still very delicious. They mentioned to me that the apples were from a local farm, which I loved. Definitely recommend checking out the baked goods for sure.
