I came here first when a crown fell off last year ( done by someone else) and they semi cemented it back in. Within 3 months it fell out completely and couldn't re cement it so I was missing a front tooth. Okay fine I got a retainer made with a tooth on it to fill in. Took 3 different tries for them to get it right and when they finally did everyone I've showed it too said it was WAY bigger then it ever needed too be. I had a cleaning and X-rays. They charged $775 for this. WHAT? And did not tell me the price until it was all completed. Fast forward to today which is where I'm done.. I went in for a tooth that felt loose. They did an xray and told me it had to be removed. They came in (after giving me a pre medication already) with a bill for nearly $1500. WHAT?! I said no way am I paying that and they said I can finance it. I said thank you but no way and still was charged $200 for just the 3 seconds the dentist came in and the xray. I went to another fabulous local dentist and was seen within 2 hours. $350 and a new dentists office later I'm happy and not in pain after the extraction! I need another 40k worth of work done and they will not see me again. Try being about the patients more than the money and that will come naturally. read more

I've been a patient of the Geller dental Group for more the 2 decades. I've always been pleased with the front end staff, hygienists, management, dental assistants and dentists. I've undergone extensive dental work including a large implant case, with no dental coverage at all. I have probably come close to incurring more then k50 in dental expenses. Dr Kevin Nguyen is an outstanding dentist! His bedside manners and professionalism proceed his reputation. I trust him implicitly with all my dental needs. However, The Geller Dental groups entire staff is in constant turnover. It appears that they can't retain their good employees. Their new manager, Jessica, and the practice administrator, Lauren, are awful and should not be representing the Geller Dental Group. They aren't the least bit professional and lack in people skills. I had a temporary flipper made for another implant case which was $1,690. Jessica insisted that half be paid up front in order for the flipper to be made. An initial 3% diacount was offered to me if I paid cash!! I wasn't prepared to hand over $800 on such notice. I did however have $500 in cash on me which she refused to take as a down payment. She then told me she would offer me a 5% discount but to keep it quiet!! When I returned to finally pick up the flipper and went to the counter to pay Pam, I informed her that I was offered the discount of 5%. She brought Lauren up to the front counter to discuss this. Lauren told me if I had paid for it on the Initial day of the scan for the flipper, they could have offered this 5 % discount to me. So, over $30, Geller Dental, you've lost a very good patient! You've also lost my mother who's been a patient there for decades along with several other family members whom I don't need to mention !!! They truly care about their patients and want them to experience the least pain possible, if any at all. Elenore, Nicole, and Dr. Bienstock have personally helped me out with cleaning and crowns. the absolute worse practice I have ever seen. My husband was there today at 2:00pm for an appointment that took over two hours. They did absolutely nothing, tried to say we needed to pay out of pocket for a scan which we refused to pay for. Then they said they would call in a prescription for his pain. Its currently 8:19 pm and the doctor claims he couldn't get through the the pharmacy. I called the pharmacy 5 times and it was never called in. what type of doctor leaves work without making sure their patients are accounted for? My family has been going there for over 10 years and this is the last time. They are an embarrassment to the practice and I would never go there again. what a shame. read more

Weird office policies. My regular dentist, (who's office does not have an oral surgeon) let me know that I would need my wisdom teeth removed so I called Geller Dental Group since I live in the neighborhood. I was told they do have an oral surgeon but require a visit with a general dentist from their office first. Sounds like a scam, knowing every other oral surgeon I called had a free consultation but Geller Dental wants to charge for a general dentist visit, an initial appointment with the oral surgeon and then the wisdom teeth procedure. read more

I have been using Geller Dental Group for many years. The front office staff is very compassionate and professional. Robin Rennert, the Assistant Office Manager and chief bill collector has always been super nice and great to deal with. She recently went out of her way to reschedule an early morning appointment I had for dental surgery after the surgeon that was supposed to see me took ill. Thank you Robin! The front office staff, who have been there for many years, as Robin has, are always personable and professional. They have many dentists within the group, but, my assigned dentist for many years has been Dr. Kevin Nguyen, and I can say about Dr. Nguyen is that he is compassionate, he cares about what he does, he's great to work with, and an excellent dentist who has gone out of his way to make sure my dental health remains good. All the dental hygienists at Geller Dental Group are great, I walk out feeling great, and my teeth are clean and white. Even when they did a poor job on a cavity, I returned the next day and the "billing woman" who thinks she's "the enforcer", gave me a hard time... as I've seen and heard she would in the past. Right in the middle of the pandemic i started having tooth pain... Geller dental came highly recommended... as for the office following guidelines and protocol during this crazy time. They did a great job... I saw dr geller for my initial appt saying i have decay and need to start a root canal procedure but with the crazy times he would do his best to make me comfortable and pain free until after the pandemic.. no antibiotics were given at this time as a preventative.... what did i know i never had a root canal. 2 and half weeks later i was begging to see him again and instead got Dr Nguyen (whom is an excellent dr) unfortunately i told him today because of dr geller and some of the women at the front desk i would no longer be coming back. His assistant Maria also is a loving lady! They had a big mess to clean up thanks to the first rushed appt... the cost of the procedure and payment was never discussed until we were on my 6th, yes i said 6th visit. At that time the front desk woman thought it was funny i have then racked up almost a 2600$ bill plus paid 268$ my first visit. And im sure they got something from my not so great insurance plan... Has anyone ever heard of an 8 appt root canal costing out of pocket almost $3000!? And not to mention this is the WORST PAIN ive ever experienced in my life... of course i paid my bill. Jennifer the office manager tried helping me. Unfortunately the damage was already done... hope this review is helpful and Im sorry to be so honest but this was a horrible experience. Best dental experience by far! After years of being with other dentists and spending enormous amounts of time, energy and money, I finally found a dentist who delivers on every level. Dr Geller is professional, comforting and clearly an expert in his field. He explained my problem with 100% certainty and was able to perform a root canal on the spot. It was painless, unlike the tooth that I could not chew on for over 8 months. He told me I'd be sore for a few weeks but as soon as the numbing wore off, I had no residual soreness or pain. My only regret was not calling Dr Geller sooner. As high tech as his office is, it's nice that his bedside manner remains rather old school. He followed up with me later that day and following day just to see how I was doing. His staff was super nice and comforting as well. Lastly, this all occurred during the current COVID crisis, making it an otherwise stressful situation very calm. Thank you Dr Geller. read more

Very friendly staff, from the reception, technician, hygienist and dentist etc. I actually send an email the night before about excruciating pain I was experiencing and the next day 9am I got a miss call from the receptionist and it was followed up by a text from Veronica about availability that very day to come in for an extraction. My father had to get emergency dental work done & made an appt at Geller. First off, one lady at the front desk was rude. Dr. Poulos, the dentist who was to see my dad was obnoxious & brushed my dad off when he asked about the specifics of his X-ray, since he was in an excruciating amount of pain. I agree with other reviewers who say they are money-hungry at Geller. All the front desk staff did was reiterate that if my dad didn't get his surgery that day, he would have to pay no matter what since they called the surgeon in. My parents said they'd pay, no problem, but no one was going into my dad's mouth without knowing what the hell they were doing. No one is going to go into a pretty invasive dental surgery, that too, being a heart patient off of his blood thinners for 5 days in surg prep, without proper information from the so-called medical professionals. We only went to Geller because of its proximity to our home, but after my dad's experience, I remembered why I left their practice after my favorite dentist, Dr. Karyn Halpern, left. Because they're greedy, insensitive, & lack a basic patient bedside manner. Stay far far away from Geller. It's not worth the possible malpractice. read more

I've been going to this dental practice for well over 11 years and it's always a pleasant experience from reception, to the hygienist Tracie to my Dr. they will keep you well informed. I receive total mouth care and a deep understanding of how best to care for my gums, teeth and tongue. My Dr. has addressed my grinding, gum erosion, the earliest onset of de-calsification, removal of all 4 of my wisdom teeth to discussions of whitening despite my blessing of having a great set of teeth! It's important to trust and feel comfortable with any doctor but especially for me, my dentist! All of us have heard horror stories from the past experience of others elsewhere but not at Geller. I've referred friends and family without reservation and they've been equally as pleased. I've been unhappy with this office for a long time but I'm finally fed up to write a review. First of all, if you have more than one insurance they will run it through both even if they were fully paid by the first. They have charged stuff through insurance that they said wouldn't be covered and took cash upfront. When they were called out all of a sudden they were planning on reimbursing us. I was convinced to do work I didn't need that completely ruined my teeth in the end. The work recently hasn't been good and I'm out of a lottttt of money out of pocket due to needing it redone elsewhere. Another time at this office during a cleaning the hygienist suggested I do a sealant on my teeth. She said it's not covered by insurance so I asked how much it was. She said probably around $20. She went to the desk to double check and came back and said okkkkk.... it's $75 and rolled her eyes. I said was it cheaper and around $20 at other places where you worked? She said YES!!!!! so even she made it clear they are a rip off. I gave it two stars because although the work isn't good the dentist is nice. That's all I can say positively though. read more
