My filling was a difficult one to fix, despite being chipped and being the size of a large kernel of corn- dr shaffer fixed it SEAMLESSLY! I felt no discomfort, no pain and actually walked out of there wishing i could take care of more of my teeth at that moment... Anyone who knows me knows I have a nearly impossible schedule if any plans need to be made. Top of the list of things I almost can never get around to is the dentist! No good dentist has late appointments or weekend appointments. In steps Dr. Mangiaracina. I called late on a Saturday and left a voicemail. Totally not expecting anyone to answer but she herself called me back within 15 mins. I explained how my old dentist no longer accepted my insurance and I have a crazy schedule. What ensued was a great conversation and she promised to work with me. My first visit she did an exam and told me I had a broken tooth & she could do an overlay and save the tooth instead of putting a cap on. I love how she thinks. Then I knew I loved her when she told me she was going to bond another tooth that 3 other dentists insisted that I get root canal & a cap. I refused all 3 because I know my tooth was fine just chipped. She put up with my crazy schedule and accommodated me and got the work done. And I might add with NO NOVOCAIN!!! I called Dr. Levy's office on Tuesday and asked what the likelihood of me getting a 7pm appointment for Wednesday would be. The office staff was able to schedule me with no problems and when I called back on Wednesday and asked about moving the appointment up, they were able to accommodate that as well! Upon arrival at the office, the office staff was kind and spent time talking with me about what brought me to Long Island. Dr. Levy was beyond great, explaining replacing the crown would be a bit costly so he placed a temporary filling on it and sent me back to Detroit where I can use my insurance. He very well could have done it and charged me out of pocket but he looked out for the patient which I wholeheartedly appreciate. The entire office has a great bedside manner, you would be lucky to have a dental office this kind and compassionate!

I got this doctor as a highly recommended, I was actually happy when they see me as soon as I need…read moreit, I was there couple of times and they just tell you that they going to do cancer screening, and some others things unrelated to what originally you going too, they charge you a fee and make you another appointment, so they can continue charging you, I have a big piece of my front tooth that fall off, I went there 3 times to just to get it fixed and I end up having a bad temporally filling that fall off the next day, of course they charge you for it, they do cleaning, this is cover by the insurance but they charge out of pocket anyway, pictures, cancer screening and many other things that I didn't need, at the end I still have the same problem I went there for the first time, and got charged out of pocket for things that the insurance cover 100%, don't get fool by their friendliness they don't care about your needs the just want to drain your pocket.
