I lived most of my life hating the way my teeth looked. When I did smile I'd cover my mouth with my hand or keep my lips together. I felt embarrassed to confide in the dentists I had been to over the years because they tended to be very judgmental and lacked any sort of genuine empathy. A group of women I worked with raved about Dr. Steve Levy and pushed me to make an appointment in his office. I am so grateful to them for having done so! Dr. Levy has changed my life for the better! I have never met a more compassionate professional. On my first visit I sat there, literally in tears, embarrassed not only for being so emotional, but at the poor state my teeth were in. I will never forget when he looked me in the eyes and said that he understood the way I felt, that others have felt this way too and that together we would work out a treatment plan that would give me the smile that I always wanted. Yes he did! Dr. Levy is gentle and works very efficiently using some amazing new technology that I'd never even heard about before. His skill and expertise are beyond reproach and the office is immaculately clean. He puts you at ease with his fabulous sense of humor. My smile now consists of the most natural and comfortable ceramic crowns and veneers. He has also done some amazing bridgework with implants that has helped me chew more comfortably. All of his work feels as if it just grew there! Dr. Steve Levy's hygienists are all fantastic! The cleanings are the most thorough I've had anywhere. They were so helpful and patient with me when I first came there. They helped me overcome my initial fearfulness. Susan, the office manager, is wonderful and personable. I am still blown away by the awesome experience I had with Dr Levy and his staff! I was out of town last week when one of my upper front teeth cracked in half causing me a lot of pain. My regular dentist who I had gone to for eternity didn't return my emergency calls. Now what?? So I Googled for an emergency dentist in Merrick. Never did that to pick a doctor before. Ugh! How do you sort through the reviews of doctors that stack the deck with fake glowing reviews from their friends? Then there's those off base reviews that don't seem to fit from people that have a bone to pick for whatever reason. Anyway, I went with him because he has so many great reviews and so many of his patients were consistent in their glowing reviews and seemed sincere. I am so thrilled that I did! Dr Levy called me back within 5 minutes of my leaving a message. He was so nice and told me what to take to relieve the pain and gave me an appointment for the next morning. His staff couldn't have been more welcoming, informative and sympathetic. Dr Levy even came to greet me in the waiting room and shook my hand! When was the last time a doctor did that for you? He was so reassuring too and put me at ease. That morning he did a root canal on my front tooth and bonded it so that I didn't have to look like a Neanderthal at work. No more pain! I didn't even feel the shot! My front tooth looks perfect! He even called me that evening at home to see how I was doing. Perfect! I recently had a complex dental procedure performed by Dr. Steven Levy of Progressive Dentistry in Merrick, NY and am incredibly impressed with the results and the entire experience. I needed to have six crowns on my top front teeth redone because the previous ones, though only two years old, had been done improperly. From arrival, Dr. Levy's staff was friendly, and my appointment began on time. The initial procedure involved carefully removing the old crowns. Despite the complexity, Dr. Levy's skill was evident; I barely felt the numbing injections, a testament to his gentle technique. He then placed temporary crowns which looked great and were very comfortable. The subsequent appointment which was for the new, permanent crowns went flawlessly. What truly set Dr. Levy apart was his professional and caring demeanor during this several hour procedure. His close attention to my well-being greatly contributed to my comfort. The quality of his work is outstanding. I am absolutely satisfied with my new crowns and can clearly see the difference. From the front office staff always cheerful and pleasant on the phone, to the technology reminding and updating you of your appts well in advance, to the hilarious emails Dr. Levy sends informing us about COVID-19 and all measures he and his office staff are taking to make sure your appointment runs safely/smoothly...they exceed all expectations. I took my 6 year old daughter there last Monday for the check up. I chose the office based on excellent online reviews. The staff there was very nice. Dr. Steve Levy was friendly and very professional. She explained what needed to be done to my daughter to keep her teeth healthy. This is our daughter first visit to the office and she only got the X-ray exam + cleaning. Dr. Steve Levy did not involve much this time but we are looking to receive her excellent care (as reviewed by others here) on the next visit. In past visits at other offices, my daughter was very uncooperative with the doctors and the staff there, even with the simple cleaning. I would recommend this office to anyone I know! read more

I really want to say this is my first time ever going to dentist where I felt like they really cared and really took the time to explain to me what is going on with my teeth. I started seeing Dr. Levy 25 years ago by default. My dentist retired and Dr. Levy took over his patients. Little did I know he would be the perfect fit for me. I wasn't blessed with the best teeth and had very extensive dental work over the years. Dr Levy always put me at ease, always gave me my best options on how to proceed and his work was superior.
