After a few reviews from some of my family members, I had to give this place a try. Customer service was good! The restaurant was very clean! I ordered a beef roti with buss up shot (paratha) and my boyfriend ordered a chicken roti with dhalpuri. Both came with tamarind sauce and pepper. Beef roti: I really wished that they gave me more curried potato and channa (chickpeas) instead of the gravy from the beef. Reason? The curried potato and channa was AMAZING and I wanted to enjoy more of those authentic flavors and spices, all of which the beef did not really present. The buss up shot was buttery soft and it complimented the dish just right. Chicken roti: my boyfriend enjoyed the flavors of his roti but said that the chicken, mostly chicken breast, was really dry. However, he said that the curried potato and channa (which was scarce) was delicious and like me, he hoped to have had more. I think if this could be something the restaurant took into consideration, the roti would be a hit. The curry flavors are superb but I really wished that we had more of it to give a solid review. I'd likely visit again and make my ask for more potato and channa so that I can enjoy authentic curry, which this place definitely gave! read more

DISCLAIMER: I came here for a TGTG pickup. For 4.99$ I got an end of the day meal. Though it wasn't an exorbitant amount of food for Too Good To Go, it was definitely a good value for the quality of food. The entree meats were in variety, flavourful, and seasoned well without being too salty (sometimes end of the day buffet food concentrates as it's been sitting in the sauce). I'd definitely get another pickup, though be warned that there's just one personw working so be patient. read more

Holy Shambalah This roti wan lef mi fi ded it's so good. We ordered the aloo pie, doubles, goat roti with buss up. The gravy was delicious and NOT too salty. The spicy sauce had my nose running. Too many black restaurant are using hot sauce that caters to the yt man fragile tongue. This was fragrant and eloquent for the olfactory nerves. The goat hat too much bone but again the quality of the gravy made that forgivable. My food spilled in the take out bag so I had to return for repackaging and they did it with no question or hesitation. Even gave me a free hot and tamarind sauce. read more

Food was delicious. I had goat roti, wish I had more meat because it tasted so good and less bones. Hope sauce wasn't hot enough for me but the food was flavorful. Price was reasonable I ate my entire plate.. I will be back for more. read more

Gee’s Caribbean Restaurant - Menu - Caribbean Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

If you grew up or lived in Crown Heights in Brooklyn in the past 20+ years you probably ate at Gloria's Caribbean restaurant at least once. They closed in 2020 after a decades long dispute over who actually owned the building. But they are back or at least the former employees of this Trini restaurant are. The former manager of 22+ years along with former employees and an investor have reopened as Gee's Caribbean a few doors down. I had the stew chicken, rice & peas, plantains and potato salad. Can't wait to have the roti again. read more

Gee’s Caribbean Restaurant - Stew Chicken Dinner - Caribbean Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I did not like the food, I ordered a soup only potatoes in the soup after I specifically told the girl that I want provisions in it and meat, ordered jerk chicken rice and peas and pumpkin the pumpkin was very sour and the jerk chicken was dry! The service the staff provides is terrible you guys gotta do better. The only person that I'm accustom to was the short girl and she use to be really nice to me now that she's not there I don't know what happened. This place is always a hit and miss one minute it's good next minute they sell people old food don't recommend any more!!!! read more

Everything taste great as if my Caribbean ancestors were in the kitchen just don't order anything spicy if you can't take the heat.

I have ordered delivery from them in the past that was satisfactory at best but this last round was a NO and a HELL NO to ordering ever again. They ignored my Custom Note and supplied no utensils and napkins- despite me checking yes for that option (which I see now some places charge for so they probably did). I called the restaurant and the person who answered sounded like she could care less because "they're really busy right now". I could also hear someone in the background also encouraging her to just get me off the phone. Note: My Cow Heel soup was all potatoes. No meat or anything else really. Oxtail Dinner with rice and peas and extra pumpkin turned into WHERE IS THIS RICE AND PEAS?? "Busy" is a blessing not an excuse for subpar order fulfillment. So $50 worth of food not made to liking and no utensils. Yeh. No. read more

Love the rice and peas, love all the sides: callaloo, spinach, red beans, sweet plantains (although some can be a bit salty!). Oxtail was delicious with an amazing gravy (but a bit pricey). Curry chicken and stew chicken were both good, too, but I think could be a tad more flavorful. I'm planning on trying the jerk chicken next! The store is super bright and new. Service is pretty fast--the first time, the staff were super friendly, the next time the guy at the front was much less friendly. But that's fine, I'm still looking forward to trying out more of their dishes next time I'm in the area! read more

Lots of good options for doubles in my neighborhood, but Gee's is my go-too. Quick service and delicious every single time. Menu highlights are the regular doubles, boneless chicken doubles, and goat aloo pie. Make sure you get it with both tamarind and pepper sauce if you like some heat. Last time I was there, the chef gave me extra pepper sauce because they said i seemed to like the heat, which i took as a compliment. Cheapest and most filling meal on Nostrand! read more

Fond memories from college days, so excited this place is back. Very clean with big screen TVs if you're dining or waiting for food, which is a plus. Super friendly service, amazing value and portions for TGTG. Got the jerk chicken which had the perfect heat, even the small entree had 3 pieces of chicken. This is definitely a neighborhood favorite. read more

Gee’s Caribbean Restaurant - Jerk Chicken Dinner - Caribbean Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

So, I ordered off of uber eats & when i tell you bad? bad. I got my food around 7ish yesterday & idk if they cooks were lazy but no. My jerk chicken was BURNT like I couldn't even bite into it. The jerk chicken is horribly spicy & i like a little spice lol not too much. I had a drum & a thigh & wasn't able to eat nothing but the rice & macaroni. I spent like $34 for 2 plates & 2 beef patties. I see good reviews but I must be eating at the wrong place lol read more

Stopped by Gee's during my vacation and cannot wait to get it again when I'm back in town. The service was great from when I ordered my food and even after my meal. The music was definitely a vibe as well. Not to mention, they provide complimentary mimosa while you wait, which was bomb! I believe they put pineapples and strawberries in it as well. Now to the food! I got jerk chicken, rice and peas, plantains, and spinach. Everything was flavorful, had the right spice, and fresh! If you're in Brooklyn and want some Caribbean food, please stop by! read more

Didn't get a chance to try the food and I probably never will the older man who is the owner is always going off loudly about something outside the restaurant or either inside the restaurant he made me feel very uncomfortable when I was in there trying to purchase food, I turned around and looked dead at him and he was talking mess. This happened on two separate occasions where he was being rude. read more

Super rude employee. Poor food packaging also. Will not be back there. Avoid this place much better places around.

Had a craving for some bake on a Sunday morning and fortunately this place was open as most of the Caribbean spots on Nostrand in CI are closed on Sundays. Also had the oxtail curry roti that was amazing, can't beat it for the price. Super friendly staff, definitely will make this my go to now that Gloria's isn't around. I used to go to Gloria's all the time when I lived in Brooklyn. It was the only restaurant I'd ever really eat curry from. The other day, we drove 1.5 hrs to go to Gee's because we "heard" it was the same owners or employees. My husband picked up the food so I didn't go inside. However, today, after another 1.5 hr drive, I went in myself and it was the same manager that I knew as a child (he knew my dad)!! He truly is pleasant to deal with and on top of that, the curry is still the best! Now instead of what was Gloria's, he's making a name for himself and still has a loyal customer that followed him. Go to Gee's. Best curry/roti and peanut punch in Brooklyn! read more

If you missed Gloria's, which unfortunately closed in 2020 amid a legal battle, we can all rejoice that the original staff, led by a former manager or Gloria's is back in action at a nearby location thanks to financial backing from an investor. That investor sure have good taste. The same menu could be found at this 2.0 version, so expect the all time favorites including curry goat, varieties of roti and don't forget the max and cheese, all chased by a refreshing cup of sorrel. The staffs are eager to get back to work, servicing the community with delicious and wholesome Caribbean food. read more

Great Caribbean Food, Jerk Salmon my Favorite!!! I Also like Jerk Pasta and the Fish sandwich. Great to have Caribbean Foods close by.

I must say I am beyond disappointed tonight. Not only did I not receive everything I ordered, I received what was supposed to be a large oxtail dinner with extra gravy on the rice only to open it up to 5 oxtails no gravy whatsoever on anything not even the oxtails. This is my 3rd time ordering and the first two times was delicious. Maybe I waited to late cause now their closed so I can't even complain. read more
