Due to the field of work I do, I am a perfectionist for detailed work from those that I hire. The…read moreguys from Energy Monster did a fabulous job on my 4kw LG system. Installers were Tim & Lyle. All conduit was run beautifully and the all black LG panels look great. All work was done in one day! My sales guy Kevin definitely was knowledgeable about his recommendation and placement. Al in all, this was a really good experience with zero issues at all.

Because of the style of our house, we were also told in no uncertain terms that the insulation would have to be put in from the interior of the home. So we spent weeks preparing by pulling everything off the walls and packing up my husband's small collectibles and moving all of the furniture in every room to the center. And we had to remove the beautiful real wood paneling in our dining room so that they wouldn't drill into it. It's the good stuff, not the cheesy 70s stuff. When the insulation company came, they drilled holes in four different rooms. Every room had insulation. We then had to patch and paint every hole and put everything back where it came from. It was a horrible experience with very little in the way of an apology from the company. When the team came to do the insulation and discovered that it wasn't needed, they asked who had done the evaluation, and when we said Brian, they said that that made sense. Apparently this isn't the first time that something like this has happened to someone. That is shameful! They did nothing to help our energy consumption.

NEGATIVE 1,000 STARS…read more I hired HomeWorks Energy for attic insulation through Mass Save. I paid nearly $3,000 out of pocket -- while HomeWorks reportedly billed the state program roughly $16,000 for the same job. Draw your own conclusions about where that gap goes. The crew did not properly seal or protect the area they used to access my attic. While spraying insulation foam, they let a can explode, coating a leather messenger bag that my late father gave me shortly before he passed away. It's now ruined -- foam soaked into the leather and fabric strap, and no amount of cleaning has restored it. On top of that, one of the crew members' behavior raised serious safety concerns. He spent much of the appointment with his face covered, sitting in his running vehicle, and locked in my bathroom. He repeatedly drank Gatorade and had to lean against the truck to steady himself. He then bolted out of the house and ran head-first at full speed toward the HomeWorks truck parked on my street, nearly colliding with it. I'm not sure if he had a hard night out before visiting my home that morning, but he never should have been dispatched to a customer's home in that condition, with my family present. When I raised the damage to my father's bag, HomeWorks' "resolution" was to offer me the value of a refurbished/used bag from an outlet -- not a new one, despite this being a gift I received brand new. I've asked for a full refund of my co-pay, retail replacement value, and a formal apology. I have also repeatedly asked -- by email and by phone, on multiple occasions -- to be connected with the owner or any senior member of management. Every request has been refused. A company that stonewalls customers from reaching anyone above a customer service rep, especially after property damage and a safety incident, is hiding behind its front-line staff rather than taking accountability. If you're considering Mass Save's insulation program, ask specifically NOT to be assigned HomeWorks Energy. Based on my experience, this company should not be a state-approved vendor, and I'd urge Mass Save and the DPU to reconsider this relationship. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.
