Friendly staff, awesome location, and great food/beer. Can't ask for much more!

Great food and service but definitely overhyped. Could go to other places in Bar Harbor and have a shorter wait time.

I ate my first lobster roll here and it was all I had hoped it would be. We had the crab dip and oysters as appetizers and let me tell you, I could have filled up on them if I wasn't saving space for my lobster roll. Our server was incredibly polite and fast, she really added to the experience. I ordered the volcano bowl as a drink and let me tell you. Holy smokes. This thing packs a punch. They bring you two straws, probably because they know you're going to have to split it. It was a little strong, but it wasn't advertised as anything else. Definitely a nifty drink! We also spent a great deal of time in the shop downstairs, they have a little bit of everything and we were able to get pretty much all of our souvenirs for friends and family in one place. read more

We came here because we wanted oysters, and they were both available and cheaper than the neighboring restaurant. Not only were they fresh and delicious, but they were also served with a spicy relish and a delightfully bright blueberry sauce. Always willing to try anything once, I was blown away by the different flavors. And the massive serving of fish and chips was too good not to finish. Clean plates all around. read more

Came to Bar Harbor for the day with my friends and we were looking for a lobster roll because we heard really good things about this place. Me and my friend got seated quickly and we ordered one lobster roll, a clam chowder cup soup and a pepperoni pizza. The lobster roll was delicious. It was seasoned perfectly and you can definitely tell it was fresh. They kind of skimped on the fries. The pizza was amazing having that they made it on the spot. We were so full after everything that we had to pack the pizza to go. Overall, this was an amazing experience. read more

Geddy's - Seafood Near Me - Bar Harbor, Maine

Fish and chips.. tasted like grease was from when Bush #1 was in office... cool scene with great beer... lobster roll was decent, but kind of bland with great bread... chowder needed salt to be average. .. poor food can't taste better just bc atmosphere and service are good... read more

We tried the classic lobster roll and the seafood pie. The lobster roll was good, but not the best I've ever had. The seafood pie was okay, but I probably would not order again. read more

Geddy's is a popular tourist attraction but it's really not worth the trip. The drinks the bartender reccommended were the only thing that saved the trip (key lime martini, margheritas, and a tubular ipa). The food itself was bland, souless, and wholely unappetising. I rate this place based upon my mood going in and how it soured my afternoon afterward. We had a dozen oysters, the ahi tacos, and fish and chips. The oysters were good but very gritty. I had other local oysters in bar harbor the other day and these weren't cleaned properly. The ahi were mediocre at best but bland. The truly horrific thing they call fish and chips made me stop wanting to order more drinks and was the reason im posting this. The fish and chips were bland, the batter was anemic paper thin and falling off the fish so it just made a mess, and the dipping sauce itself was also bland. I would not be surprised if they were frozen fish filets from a grocery store...but honestly ive had better frozen fish sticks. It was so bad my fiance felt bad and let me eat one of her ahi tuna tacos as i didnt want to eat the rest of the fish and chips. The menu calls it a local favorite but it can hardly be called fish and chips. Please do yourself a favor and do not order it. If you're looking for just drinks the bartenders are great but this place is a tourist trap for food. read more

Loved everything we had! Best fish & chips I've had. Clam chowder was amazing. Mini Lobster roll was good, the lobster was great.

We went in search of the best blueberry pie in Bar Harbor and were sent to Geddy's. We were not disappointed. Our cute waitress was fantastic and we went back the next day for more. I wish we had gone a third time before we left. No better way to start our new marriage. Wish I had the recipe! read more

Geddy's - We went in search of the best blueberry pie in Bar Harbor and we weren't disappointed by Geddy's. We went back the next day for more! - Seafood Near Me - Bar Harbor, Maine

Lobster roll was very bland, fries were good. Probably will not be back, but if I do I will not get the lobster roll

This was absolutely, by far, one of our favorite places that we visited while in Bar Harbor! The first night we went there after an evening tour (probably arrived around 9:30PM) and we ordered each a drink then the chocolate desert that was absolutely to die for!!! If you like chocolate, get it! The next day we went back for dinner because we were so in love, each ordered a drink (I got the tropical sangria which was delicious) and we ordered the spicy calamari and an order of the fried shrimp entree to share. The spicy calamari had such a unique flavoring to it which was the perfect mix, and the fried shrimp entree had a ginger sauce on the side that we could not get enough of! To top everything off, the atmosphere of the restaurant was so fun and our bartender who helped us during both of our visits, Mike, was such a nice guy!! Even the host did a fabulous job of taking a picture for us. Make sure to check out their gift shop downstairs for super cute souvenirs!!! Totally stop by for a visit!! read more

The business is decent. The food is ok! The shiny star is Bethany! We could go anywhere and spend our money but, Bethany is the reason the be at Geddy's. She just make you feel good about being here!! It's the people that matter, the seafood is everywhere! read more

This has always been my families go-to restaurant wherever we come to Maine for years. Food is good and decor is fun. Can't go wrong with this place read more

Driving across America we found a little piece of Heaven in a small town called ," Bar Harbor", Maine (GEDDY'S RESTAURANT & BAR) what a wonderful dining experience. Great atmosphere, Wonderful view of the Bay, and our server Melissa made us feel right at home. Ask about the Special, you won't be sorry. We will be sure to revisit Geddy's our next time through. read more

We stopped in here because other reviewers mentioned that they have lots of gluten-free options. They aren't clearly marked on the menu, though. I did enjoy a (pricey) lobster cobb salad. We had a good meal, but I probably wouldn't come back again. read more

This place was so good, and so fun, we went back twice in one day. The chowder and lobster were great, but the blueberry pie was heavenly. Natasha rocks! The drinks are really good too. read more

Very good and very popular restaurant! They have a large bar and a lot of tables! I went with a party of 16 which the staff did a great job handling! The food was good and would go back. read more

I'm not sure if it is fair to cast aspersions on a restaurant in Bar Harbor for being too touristy, but Geddy's was just that - from the neon lobster claws outside to the gift shop downstairs. I'm not sure we would have ventured inside were it not for the coupons we received for staying at Central House B&B. From the start, the service was a touch... off. Nice enough people, but just... off. And slow. Perhaps I'm too entrenched in my local Midwestern, folksy charm... I know waitstaff the world over doesn't *truly* care how I'm doing or what I'm having for dinner, but you could fake it a little more, no? Or at least bring me my Bar Harbor Bluberry Ale a little more promptly. The menu is predominantly seafood based, but there are a couple other options for those underwhelmed by Atlantic sealife. The most noteworthy thing was how drastically overpriced everything was. For example, a bowl of chowder was $5. Decent price, yes, but if you "upgrade" (translation: slightly larger bowl and a side of bread) the soup will run you $10! That better be some damn tasty chowder, folks. read more

We got the seafood pie and bacon/jalapeño lobster roll. Both were ok, the lobster and jalapeños over powered the lobster. The service was good and the atmosphere was fun. read more

This is the worst restaurant food I have ever eaten in my adult life. If you are reading this, please quickly move on to the next choice on your restaurant list. Ordered Cadillac margarita while looking at the menu - it came in a giant glass, water down and with a weird aftertaste. Chicken quasadillas were suspicious as chicken tasted almost crunchy and felt like uncooked. Gross. For entrees we got salmon and steak salad which were both horrendous - I have no idea how restaurant can survive serving food like that. STAY AWAY. read more

+/- Tons and tons and tons of menu items. It could be overwhelming if you walk in without an idea of what you're hungry for. Lots of fried things but they're some salads and grilled stuff too. + Everyone gets a placemat that you can color. I love coloring, so this made me very happy + Speedy drink service. I was parched when we walked in, my drink order was soon taken, and a few moments later, my thirst was quenched. read more

My husband, a group of friends and myself had just gone hiking for the first time on the Cadillac Mountain. My husband and I both had the surf and turf option of steak and lobster. I thought the lobster would be prepared for you, like out of the shell like in most places, but when Ryan came around with the bibs and claw cracker, I knew what was ahead. We got our lobs-tahs and I started at the claws but it was so well cooked that I didn't need the cracker. And the meat inside - melt in your mouth. I don't think it could be any fresher unless you caught it and cooked it yourself on the boat. Blueberry beer was really good to wash it all down, too. Too stuffed to attempt desserts. read more

We go here every time were in town. We always get great service and have good food. Burgers are great, desert menus is good. Great blueberry pie and peanut butter pie. Wings are a great app. Fun atmosphere, lots of cool things to explore. read more

Yes, Bar Harbor is beautiful. Yes it is a tourist town with lots of tourist trap restaurants. Geddy's was not one of them... Honest, reasonably priced lobster, solid menu, staff and vibe. The "mega pound" place around the corner (Stewmans) was so overpriced it was insulting. To look at someone with a straight face and say that lobster is $27 a pound is a joke. I pay that at high-end DC steakhouses. Geddy's is the spot IMO. Writing this review after a fantastic 2 1/2 pound lobster lunch (properly cracked and split) and will be heading back in a few hours for dinner! In these types of towns most restaurants don't have to go the extra mile. Geddy's did. Wish I had eaten here sooner! read more

This cute restaurant is spacious. There is a large bar and plenty of seating. I ordered the lobster roll with a cup of clam chowder. Wylie ordered the baked scrod, which came with mixed veggies and rice. My lobster roll was good, but the freshness of the lobster was somewhat lost in the sea of mayonnaise. The bun is quite large and thick. I only ate about half of the bread. The clam chowder was cooked perfectly. The soup was not too thick and contained large chunks of potato and clams. I did think that the prices were a little high for a such a casual restaurant. Our meal, along with the cheapest bottle of wine on the menu (around $28), was nearly $100. Service is perfect. read more

We had a lot of Clam Chowder while we were in Bar Harbor, and believe it or not, Geddy's was the best! We stopped in for some "Chowdah" and some nachos which they serve up in a gigantic hubcap stuffed to the brim! They don't skimp on toppings so every chip is covered in deliciousness and it was a perfect snack to hold us over for a late lunch! The store is also one of my favorites in town! We got some cute knick knacks like a little wooden whale to commemorate our time in Bar Harbor and our whale watching adventure that looks cute on our shelf. But, even more importantly, some triple XL shirts! This was the only place in all of Bar Harbor that carried plus sizes and I kept an eye out quite a bit when we were shopping to see if anyone else had some. I was dying to pick up some shirts for my dad to bring back home and was so happy when I saw a pretty broad assortment that went all the way up to 4XL in their store! It's really a bummer when stores don't carry extended sizes for the loved ones in our life that wear those sizes, so thank-you, Geddy's! Your shirts made my dad's day and made him feel included in our vacation even though he hasn't been to Bar Harbor quite yet! Check this lil place out, it's one of the few restaurants that is open year round and their food quality is actually surprisingly great despite being portrayed as pub food. read more

Came here with my boyfriend, sister and her boyfriend while on vacation in Bar Harbor. Yes the decor is loud. Yes the music is loud. Yes the food is just typical pub food. But there were a lot of cute, outstanding qualities about this pub. Service was great, our waiter was very friendly, cool, made me smile (had an accent and was so gracious). There were coloring sheets and crayons for kids and we proceeded to color. Their fries are DELICIOUS -- wonderfully crispy yet soft in the inside. My sister's boyfriend also enjoyed his chicken cesar wrap. Overall, a pretty great friendly pub to grab a bite to eat and enjoy the company of your friends on vacation! read more

There was a time when we enjoyed Geddy's; the food was good and worth the price, and the service was very good. But unfortunately the last few times we've gotten food there it hasn't been a positive experience. We come to Bar Harbor for an overnight once a year during April break (we are both teachers). Our go to has always been Geddy's. After doing Acadia for the day, we order our food and take it back to the hotel. Like I said, the last couple of years we weren't thrilled, but we decided to give it another try this year. Looked up the menu online, and rather than order online we decided to call because we had some questions about ingredients (bell pepper allergy). The phone message told us we had to either order online or come into the restaurant, we couldn't talk to a person on the phone. Okay, so then I just decide to place my order online. By the time I submitted it the time was 7:46pm, and the online ordering wouldn't go through because the cutoff time for online ordering was 7:45pm. So I end up driving over to Geddy's to place my order as per the phone message instructions. I go in and when I say I want to place an order the person at the hosting station tells me that I need to place my order online. I tell them I tried but the online ordering said it was past the time. She looked confused, and then reluctantly started taking my order off the cuff...didn't offer me a menu, didn't appear to be writing anything down, and clearly not thrilled. When I said I wanted two orders of clam chowder her spirits immediately lifted as she informed me that they were all out of clam chowder because they were so busy; the attitude came across as "we don't have what you want so I don't have to take your order now." When I still wanted to place an order she immediately went back into "not thrilled" attitude. I ordered two fish and chips, and a bowl of lobster stew which she informed me was $25 so I canceled that. I also got two desserts. The bill with tip came to $69.80. The desserts were fine. The fish and chips were practically inedible. The fries were not offensive, but not great. But it was the fish...it had to have been sitting under a heat lamp for a very long time. Probably since before we ordered it. It was tough and dry, and big chunks of it were (and I'm not exaggerating) like fish jerky. I've never experienced anything like it. And clearly I couldn't call to complain because the automated phone message won't give you access to a person. And I wasn't about to go back out at 9pm to fight for my right to a decent meal...why should I have to do that? And in Bar Harbor of all places? So, we agreed we were done with Geddy's, which is really too bad. For all appearances it seems to the public like it should be a fun, positive experience. read more

Here is a list of things I like about Geddy's: 1. Blueberry margaritas 2. Twirly, bendy straws that extend out of aforementioned margaritas across a table and into your mouth 3. Crayons and coloring pages for everyone! 4. My bathroom is titled "inboard". Boys are "outboard." Maybe I'm juvenile, but it made me giggle. A lot. 5. Bottled beers are served in a brown paper bag, for that real New England drunkard feel. Things I did not enjoy at Geddy's 1. The fire in the kitchen. 2. The way our server screamed at us that we all had to get out because of the fire in the kitchen. It just made everyone a little more nervous. 3. The guacamole. Seriously, don't tempt fate like I did. New England and Mexican food just don't mix. 4. Our server. We asked her how she was and all she could reply was, "I'd be better if I had more tables than just you." Um, we were a table of 12 and we were all drinking. Heavily. I'd go back again, but it wouldn't be my first choice in Bah Hah-bor. read more

This place is funky and I love it. Yummy black bean burger and mashed sweet potatoes for those who want to commit the blasphemy of not eating seafood in Bar Harbor. It's good to have options. read more

Really nice ambience and quality food . Hard to get reservation on same day . The fish tacos are very good. The lobster roll was okay.

"Dude" is a good word to describe Geddy's. We mainly went there for snacks and drinks and we can see how and why it's part of the BAH-HABAH experience. I got something, but it was a "bigass drank" and it was delicious in the hot summer. They had a wide selection of bar food, drinks, and did not lack in interesting interior decor to keep you fascinated in the place. PS moose on the roof. read more

I can't lie. I wanted to go ahead and give this place 5 stars because it gives me warm and fuzzy feelings about my vacation. But if I did that, I suppose I'd be contributing to misleeding the masses. Now, I stayed up in Bar Harbor for a week @ the end of August, and the town was just-right crowded. Not a ridiculous touristy mess, easy parking, but enough people-watching to keep you occupied. We found ourselves here many nights out of 7, mainly because we fell in love with Sea Dog Blueberry Ale, and they serve it here with blueberries in your glass, which pretty much rocks. Plus, its next to one of the many fudge and ice cream joints, which makes for a nice combo after you've been imbibing. Their steamed clams were kick arse, but their lobster roll was sub standard at best. I'd say its an easy way out, reliably "Ok" if you want somewhere centrally located that's easy and will almost always have a table for you. read more

Bar Barbor, ME- Cool place and good service but tourist trap with poor value price ratio. Lobster roll very light for $16.99 with chips n pickle. Comon guys, throw in the fries at this price, don't make me buy them for another $1.49...cheap bastards. read more

Very much a seafood tourist location. It reminds me of Joe's a little bit. The food is huge and good and the staff are friendly and fast. Its not too hard to get a table because the place is pretyy big but on cruise boat nights it can get a little busy. The lobster is the main attraction but there are other really amazing dishes. Probably something for everyone. read more
