We didn't get downtown until after 9pm and coincidentally that meant parking the motorcycles was free. We were immediately seated after a warm welcome. Jess W was our server and she did a top notch job. I got the 6oz lobster roll with a side of clam chowder which was $53...tourist prices but the roll was top notch. It actually got delivered with the lobster bisque which I sent back after taking a taste. I would echo the sentiments of others in that it's a good thick soup but lacks in the meat department which is why I chose to have them bring me the clam chowder I originally ordered. It was full of potatoes and clam, I would get it again. There's not a lot of gluten-free options on the menu. The girlfriend opted for a garden salad ($11) topped with blackened haddock ($11) which was gluten free. It was a huge portion and more than enough to eat, she couldn't finish it. It was also very flavorful and juicy. Had we known it was going to be a lot of food we wouldn't have ordered the smoked trout dip but we are glad we did. It was $16 and they were able to bring it with extra veggies and put the crackers on the side for me to keep it gluten free. It was a decent sized portion and there were more than enough dippers and we quite enjoyed the salty smoked fish flavor. I asked for a local whiskey or bourbon and they don't server any sadly. The decor is mostly bar vibes. Dinner was $90 before taxes and $97 after before tip. I was very pleased with my lobster roll and would eat here again especially if we had another late arrival into town.

My husband, on his noble quest to sample every lobster bisque in Maine, declared this one the worst of the trip -- and trust me, the man takes bisque seriously. My beet salad with picked lobster was actually quite good, fresh and nicely balanced, which saved the meal from total disappointment. Service matched the décor -- polite enough but not exactly engaged. It had that subtle "we're doing you a favor" energy, which really pairs best with... no one's martini. Speaking of which, I had to remind our server to actually add the olives to mine. Small details, big impact, friends. In conclusion: go for the view, not the vibe. There's potential here, but it needs a little love -- and a lot more attention to the bisque.

My recent visit to Greddy's in Bar Harbor left me extremely disappointed. Despite the long lines of people eagerly waiting, I found it to be nothing more than a tourist trap. The food fell far short of the hype, particularly in regards to their attempt at prosciutto and the fish and chips. The so-called prosciutto they served was nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to pass off a spiral ham as a quality cured meat. It was a shame to see such a misrepresentation of a classic delicacy. The lack of authenticity in this dish was truly disheartening. Furthermore, the fish and chips I ordered were the worst I have ever had in the entire New England area. The fish was overcooked and lacking flavor, while the batter was greasy and unappetizing. It was a far cry from the crispy and flavorful fish and chips that one would expect from a reputable establishment. Considering the long wait times and the underwhelming quality of the food, I cannot recommend Greddy's to anyone seeking a satisfying dining experience. It is clear that the popularity of this place is driven more by its tourist appeal than the actual quality of the cuisine. If you're in Bar Harbor, I would suggest exploring other dining options that prioritize quality and authenticity. Greddy's, unfortunately, fails to live up to its reputation and falls short in delivering a memorable culinary experience. read more

July 2016. Waited 25 minutes, we were okay with that, we had hiked all day and were very hungry. My daughter and I chose Geddy's because the restaurant guide we picked up said "family fare". There is a large approximately 5x10 very colorful painting of a naked woman on the wall, very visible as you walk in. Underneath it is an oar painted red with white lettering that says "dirty old oar". And then they sat us right beneath the painting, we made sure the three kids ages 8-11 sat wall side so they did not have to look straight at it during their dinner...poor choice of art work considered they are billed as "family fare". Too crowded to ask for a different table. Painting aside, the food was sub par, pizza was terrible, burger was burnt but the biggest disappointment was the Oreo milk shake, that looked so yummy but somehow was so awful my granddaughters didn't even finish half. Not sure how you mess up a milkshake. The margarita pizza, though varies a bit by restaurant, normally has chunky marinara, maybe stewed tomatoes with some marinara... Your margarita had sliced not very ripe tomatoes with no sauce at all. The milk shakes had no flavor and were filled with crushed/ chunky ice... Nothing smooth about the milkshake You make no mention the presence of the garish inappropriate "artwork". read more

Had an awesome dinner at Geddy's with my family of five, including our infant. And wow, the staff went above and beyond! Partway through the meal, our baby managed to knock over my beer and made quite the mess. I felt so guilty, but the staff was super kind and immediately reassured me that it happens all the time. They quickly cleaned everything up, swapped out the highchair, and even replaced my beer for free. The food was also fantastic. It was fresh, flavorful, and just what we were hoping for. I would highly recommend the Atlantic seafood pie and the blueberry pie for dessert. Between the great service and delicious seafood, it turned what could've been a stressful moment into a really positive experience. The manager came out to check on us a few times too which was very thoughtful. Definitely recommend Geddy's, especially if you're dining with family! read more

Don't ever book a large party here. In December 2017, I reserved space at Geddy's for a June 2018 thirty+ person cocktail gathering with Geddy's GM, Travis Healey. We went back and forth for months trying to figure out the menu, usually me waiting a few weeks to hear back from him. In May 2018, I asked Travis for final pricing and three weeks later he responded with a much higher quote than I anticipated. I asked him to cut down the food order as it was out of our budget. A week later, 8 days before my event, he sent me an e-mail saying Geddy's can no longer host our event because we didn't meet the minimum spend. In our six months of conversation, Travis never mentioned a per head charge, minimum spend, or room fee. So now I am stuck frantically trying to find space to host this welcome to town cocktail party that's only 8 days away. Unbelievable. read more

My girlfriend and I went here because we heard it was part of the Bar Harbor experience. The overall takeaway is that your BH experience will be just fine (or better) without Geddy's. For positives, the ambiance was unique. And we were seated promptly. For negatives... The frozen margarita tasted like cold water with a little tequila in it. We sent it back and got a frozen daiquiri which was marginally better. The chips from the guac and chips were stale. Part of the kitchen was sort of in the restaurant. Some people might think this is cool, but it's not so nice to have waitresses pouring buckets of bleach (or some other substance) like 5 feet away from the table. Everything else was okay, nothing really worth mentioning. read more
