Geddy's - Atlantic Seafood Pie, Warm Geddy's Brown Butter Lobster Roll - Seafood Near Me - Bar Harbor, Maine

Great experience. Excellent service. Had a Lobster meal and it was worth it! Actually not bad pricing for the area.

It's a joint and it's probably great for locals off-season for what it is...a bar with food...but, during tourist season, it's just very pricey bar food. read more

I heard good things about this place prior to going. A friend had been in the past and told me to make sure I asked about the market price of the lobster for she paid $127 for her lobster! Knowing that going in, I got the Cap'n Geddy's Lobster Bake, as this was the only option for hot lobster unless I wanted to do the "Pay what it weighs option" like my friend must have done (or the lobster roll but I had a few previous nights). I liked that that the lobster bake comes with blueberry pie, chowder and corn on the cob so you're getting your money's worth. Well, I didn't want to crack the whole lobster at the table so note, if you ask, they will do this for you in the kitchen for an additional $4. I decided to go with this option. They call this the Lazy Man's Lobster I believe. So my $52 meal ended up costing $57. I will say though, the lobster was super fresh. One of the best if not the best lobster I had in Maine. Very good. Critique on the chowder though, they only gave me half a cup. It was delicious but not very much. The blueberry pie also did not have really any flavor. Boyfriend got the Gulf of Maine Salmon Teriyaki. Not much to report. He liked it. We also got the Geddy's Garden salad to start which I loved since it has mushrooms. I love anything with mushrooms. The ambiance was fun - very touristy but that's what we were looking for as tourists and the lobster was very good as mentioned. Super fresh. Try to make a reservation so you're not sitting there waiting. It gets busy. read more

Great food and great Service! It was so crowded. We sat at the bar, but the bartenders were on it. They have excellent drinks too.

From dirty tables, to food missing items indicated on the menu, to chips so stale they could bend vs break. While service was great- the food was not. read more

Made a reservation and got right in. The ambiance is neat, pretty touristy but I liked it. Ordered the seafood scampi and it was so so good. I have never had such fresh, tender scallops. The shrimp was cooked well too. Husband has a shellfish allergy so he had to order boring and got the burger. He said it was fine. Nothing special. But that's probably to be expected at a place who specializes in seafood. read more

The seafood here fit the bill! It hit the spot and everyone enjoyed their meal and the slice of blueberry pie we had for dessert. Service was a little slow, but we had a good time regardless. read more

No complaints here!!!! We were seated immediately (we had a reservation), our waitress was very friendly and attentive, & the food was awesome. I got the veggie burger with sweet potato fries and the cranberry ketchup (which was amazing) and a blueberry lemonade (which wasn't overly sweet, VERY good!) and my boyfriend got the haddock sandwich & enjoyed! We were in and out in around 30-45 minutes. We were so surprised at how fast it was. We also went downstairs after to the gift shop & thought it was adorable. Awesome place! read more

Geddy's - Bar Island Burger, Haddock Sandwich - Seafood Near Me - Bar Harbor, Maine

Visited Geddy's on a solo trip to Bar Harbor after visiting their underground shop and hearing great things from the vendor down there about the restaurant. I ordered the mini lobster bake so I could get a taste of everything and was so happy I did so. My favorite part of it was the New England Clam Chowder. Geddy's ambiance was fun and inviting, I went there for lunch but I can imagine a lively and exciting nighttime bar. I had a lovely waitress who was super nice, service was fast too which I appreciated. The lobster roll itself was not my favorite (also I was trying it for the first time) but I would still recommend the restaurant and the dish even. read more

Most of our meals were good. I had fish and chips as a 3rd option after our server wouldn't tell me how much the lobster price per pound was and tried to upsell me to the lobster bake which is not what I wanted. I asked how much it was to add the lobster to a BYO pizza. She told me she would just charge me the 43.00 for the lobster, arugula and smoked bacon pizza. Without the extra toppings but pay full price? No way. My son had the seafood pie and it had several shrimps shells in it and was disappointing. Service was good. The mini bakes my wife and daughter liked. Would try again. But overall disappointed in the lobster experience. Thank you to Management for taking time to look into it. I appreciate the followup. read more

We made a reservation, but on this particular day, it wasn't needed. We were seated quickly, our waitress was polite. I liked the ambiance of the restaurant. It's not big, or at least it had a cozy feel. We have a little one year old, and needed a booster seat, but when we set him on the seat, it was slippery wood, no belt, and nothing to keep him from sliding off onto the floor. Not the best design. They did have a kids menu, which was helpful. We ordered a gluten free lobster roll and gluten free pizza. They were ok, but I would never recommend someone go there specifically for the food. It was just standard. It was nice that there were so many gluten free options though. The location is near parking and on the Main strip so it's a convenient location. read more

We specifically told the server that we wanted to share a pizza and "would the size of the speciality pizzas be enough". She classified them as "personal pizzas" so we ordered two. That might have been the plan because they definately were big enough for my wife and my daughter and me. Keep in mind, 2 stars is only on THIS experience. Dont let this sway you. But also, if you just want 2 pieces ........one pizza is enough. read more

We came to Geddy's after a long day of hikes and visiting Bar Island. Our meals were great. I appreciated the numerous gluten free options. They aren't all listed on the menu, but the staff is very knowledgeable so feel free to inquire if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions. I had clam chowder as an appetizer and it was a great start to the meal. Warm and hearty. For my entree I had the fish n chips. This was a nice treat since most restaurants don't have a dedicated gluten free fryer or fried gluten free options. It was crisp, flavorful, and the tartar sauce on the side was great. For dessert I had the salted caramel cheesecake and the chocolate torte. These were both sweet and hit the spot. We all enjoyed our meals and would definitely come back again. read more

Had a great dinner here. Everything was obviously fresh, and the pies were to die for. Anytime I'm back in bar harbor, I'll be at geddy's!

We are here for our last night in Bar Harbor, and the food and vibes were great. If you want to eat here, I would definitely recommend making a reservation. We had a reservation and were seated immediately but there was a line waiting to get a table the entire time. I started my meal getting the blueberry giggle juice. It tasted really good, and I loved all the blueberries in it. To eat, I had to get the mini lobster bake which comes with clam chowder, a lobster roll and a blueberry tart. I really enjoyed all of the items, I just wish I got a little more food. read more

We visited Bar Harbor for 3 things... one being the Lobster! We wanted our first lobster experience to be a good one! We ordered the Lobster bake that comes with a full lobster, corn, clam chowder, and a slice of blueberry pie! This meal was very decently priced. We went back to Geddy's 2 days in a row for the same Lobster bake! Need I say more?? The staff was super friendly too! read more

This is an amazing experience ! We were unable to make a reservation so showed up about 3:30-4pm. We met the manager who introduced himself. I asked about a gluten free menu and he said everything could be made gluten free. I was SO excited because eating pizza was one of my favorite foods and could not imagine doing without it. I had been sick 5 years and just learned I have celiac disease!! We ordered the lobster pizza and enjoyed it so much . Delicious !! Highly recommended. Even the staff there is well educated about gluten .many aren't. The manager I believe said he also had a gluten problem so he educated everyone . I think I got that right . A great place to eat which won't make u sick .. so my number one choice for others with gluten intolerance . U all gave me hope I could live with this issue !!! Thanks read more

Hannah was our Server and she was AWESOME!!! The food was great and the blueberry beer was outstanding !!

We came on a Sunday night around 5 PM and they said all the tables were for reservations only but we could sit at the bar. The bar filled up quick and then there was a line out the door when we left around six so definitely make a reservation.Athena gave us excellent service! The cocktails were great and the lobster stew had plenty of lobster in it with a nice sherry flavor! The lobster mini bake was a perfect way to try the lobster roll, the clam chowder plus have a little blueberry tart. The atmosphere was nice and we would definitely try this place again. Fun, friendly, and a little eclectic ! Time to enjoy some food ! When you're in bar Harbor, you got to stop off at Geddys, for lunch or dinner. Today didn't need a reservation, and we're seated quite quickly. Service is friendly, an attentive, and the food was quite good. I went for one of my favorites, the Fish And Chips ($23) A full fillet of haddock, breaded and seasoned in Geddys special mixture and Fridd. Also came with fries, coleslaw, and their homemade tartar sauce. All were delicious. This restaurant is definitely kids, friendly, as I did see a server walking around with a live lobster to show the kids. Don't play with your food kids. Overall, had a fun time, food was good, and this definitely a must try spot whether you're stopping in for a drink, eating some food, or getting dessert. Funky restaurant with all kinds of things on the walls. There is a large bar in the middle and low and high top tables all around. Our table was next to the serving station which is always a pain. The menu was nice, with obviously more seafood than anything. Our server took our drink orders and the wine was a nice pour. I settled on the salmon teriyaki. Our order came quickly and the salmon looked good. The jasmine rice did not taste like jasmine, but it was ok. The salmon was just ok as it was bland, even with the teriyaki on it. I tried a taste of my husbands blueberry pie and it was excellent. The air conditioning wasn't keeping up with the crowd, so we were extremely hot during our meal. read more

As a gluten free diner on vacation, I had a very satisfying and comfortable experience at Geddy's! We went after whale watching for a late lunch (maybe 2 pm?) and our group of 6 adults and 3 kids was seated quickly. Our server was so welcoming and fun! I love that their kids menu included affordable and healthy snacks/appetizers. I haven't seen that on most menus! Even though the atmosphere is like a kitschy bar, it felt family friendly. They have high chairs, changing tables, and coloring pages. Kids meals are served on frisbees! I had an amazing gluten free beer from a local brewery and the gf fried chicken sandwich. It's incredible how much of their menu can be gluten free! If we had more time, I would have returned for another meal. It is a little pricey, but makes sense for a vacation town with a wide variety of options. Thanks for a great experience, Geddy's! read more

Geddy's is a comfortable place to dine on great food! We started with a round of drinks. My Dark and Stormy, served in a large goblet, was the same price as my friend's Nor'easter for $12. Both were delicious and generously poured. The Seafood Pie is generously served with enough for two hungry adults to share a steak (see below) and not feel hungry. There's no shortage of seafood in this dish. The crab crust turned out to be over the top YUMMM! Pub Sirloin was perfectly prepared and topped Gorgonzola. The garlic mashed potatoes and even the carrot/bean medley (that so often snooze on the plate) completed the flavors and were the best! The flourless chocolate tort (it was half gone before I could snap a pic) was dense with a deep chocolate flavor, not too sweet -- just right. I guarantee you'll want to lick the plate. Service is friendly and attentive. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED read more

Overrated IMO. Mini lobster bake - meh The clam chowder that came with it had no flavor and the lobster roll was lacking. This is Maine. Lobster should be decent at a minimum. Service meh. I wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend. read more

A charming spot in the heart of downtown Bar Harbor, perfectly situated near plenty of bars, shops, and restaurants. The menu offers a wide variety of options, including great gluten-free choices and the service was very quick and attentive. We tried the clam chowder, calamari, and fish & chips -- the gluten-free breading was especially well done, and the portion size for the fish was generous. While the food didn't quite blow us away, it was satisfying and filling. A bit on the pricier side for the quality, but still a solid choice if you're looking for a convenient and welcoming place to grab a bite in town. read more
