Went to Gaucho Beach for their advertised oldies & funk brunch, and honestly the best thing they have going is the beachfront location and people watching. We were expecting a fun mix of oldies and funk music, but after maybe five oldies songs it basically turned into a Michael Jackson playlist for the rest of brunch. Food-wise: Steak & eggs: steak was good, but the eggs were rubbery and the potatoes lacked flavor. Chilaquiles: tried both the green and red salsa. The green was good, but the red tasted more like regular tomato sauce. Chicken & waffles: was surprised that it was chicken strips but was even more surprised that they tasted good, but the waffles were very dense, although they did have a nice sweetness to them. The drinks were good and the staff was great, which definitely helped the experience. Overall, more of a spot for the view and vibes than the food.

Came with hubby and grandkids. Food plates too big for young teens but they were too old for kids plates. Service was friendly but a bit thin. We had almost finished our plates when the obligatory' how's your food' question came up. Enjoyed the music and decor. Gaucho salad worth a mention for texture and taste but it was heavy on the raisins.

My gf and I came in for a drink after a walk on the beach. We didn't expect much on a Tuesday afternoon. We tried the signature strawberry basil marg and the Bloody Mary and they were both banging! Also, shout out to Bang, our bartender. We are coming back just for his drinks. He was super nice and my gf loved his playlist.

Edit: in response to Tina's last message on here to respond to this one from me -- I'm over your feigned attempts to show concern. If the company wanted to make it right it would have happened already. Thanks, but no thanks! I will never return again. So not surprisingly after Tina's second attempt to supposedly make things right by asking me to reach out to Max again with the receipt details - which I did and messaged her with a screenshot of the email (and , still crickets. The customer service provided on yelp is worse than the service at the restaurant! I've attached our communication on here for your review.

Being from Long Beach but moving away and seeing all the changes that has taken place throughout the city is quite amazing. Long Beach was not what it's like today. Now it's a place where there's so many things are happening and restaurants and shops are scattered everywhere. Cluster of area are trendy, blocks are full of amazing restaurants, massive new apartments complex replacing empty lots all through downtown. And of course this place. I remember when it was just an empty spot where it's just the beach, the park and parking lot. Now it's a pretty cool beachfront restaurant and bar right on the sand and bike path. It's been so long since I left that I'm not quite sure how long this place has been here. I've seen it often when visiting walking the path or meeting friends for dinner down the street. Plus seeing post about this place and hearing from friends, it was finally something that needed to be done. Friday afternoon, just as happy hour was happening we popped in for drinks. Nothing major just something to have while checking it out. Checked in with the hostess which we mentioned that we wanted drinks and not brunch. She mentioned that the bar area was full but followed her anyways which they did have seat available. There were plenty of open tables but not sure if we were able to have one if we were just having drinks. She never offered it to us. Anyways, bar seating was fine. It wraps around. Menu for happy hour was decent, a good amount of drinks as well as food items. We had to get someone's attention so we could order. Normally you would get acknowledged when seated at the bar but it didn't seemed like they even noticed us. Finally someone, placed our order for some drinks and then some food. Drinks, beer on tap and one of the red sangria on happy hour. Beer, you can't go wrong with it. Sangria's, it was nice and refreshing. Had a few fruit chunks mixed in. Food, we shared an order of the mussels. They brought out the meal but no extra plates for the shells. Also, no utensils which we had to ask someone sitting across from us to pass some down that was sitting there. And shells were placed onto a napkin. Anyways, the mussels were quite nice. They were pretty small in sizes but the broth was very flavorful. The restaurant itself is quite beautiful. Downstairs has the bar with some nice table seating looking out to the bike path and beach. There's also an upstairs which we didn't get to check out. Overall, the place is quite beautiful. Service was a little slow until we got someone's attention. Drinks were good and the mussels were tasty. There's a small parking lot out back but just to the side , a couple minutes walk is a bigger lot.

Really was excited to try this place out for the first time. I had seen so many awesome videos on instagram that i definitely thought it would be worth the hype, but i definitely was not impressed. Actually I was a little bummed. The service was super slow, the drinks were on the smaller side and very overpriced and the food was not the best and arrived to the table cold. Server was absent most of the meal he forgot the rice to my lomo saltado which sucked because by the time I was able to bring it to his attention I was half way done with my meal. Another thing that didn't sit so well with me was that the restroom was really dirty. All in all not a great experience but definitely an awesome location!

I get the fact that a business is only as good as it's employees. It wouldn't hurt for the bartender female at the bar to smile . At this point, I'm only here for the drinks not the service or atmosphere, but she turned a bad day even worse..

I had a paloma and lobster roll with fries; they were AMAZING. Bang was my server and he was the best. My rooftop view was the cherry on top !

I'll give Gaucho beach restaurant and bar a 1 start only because our waitress was super nice and understanding thanks and the location is very beautiful right by the beach, but other than that, the michis taste like Bloody Mary's the fish and chips, are really horrible the fish smells super fishy, the batter from the inside is undercooked and it's more batter then fish! See photos for reference. The only thing on the menu I would recommend are the mussels, even though half of them were shells. The wine sauce was delicious, used it to season everything else. Won't recommend. Only for regular margs or beer on tap. Or fries.

Wow, really wanted to enjoy this spot. Me and my husband came in today around 2:30. I saw it on TikTok and thought wow great spot to grab a drink a bite by the beach. I'm from the area so when anything new pops up I'm always interested to try it out. We sat there with our baby for about 20 min, the busser gave us water. But the girl didn't even come to say hello or say she was running behind. It was a Monday so maybe they thought it would be slow in the afternoon but omg, I was in shock! There really are no words except "what are you paying for"? Theres no service till you scan, order, submit payment with tip. At least that's how we were welcomed. The two of us had brunch $55, 2 plates only. No drinks. Tip included. Our guests also ordered in their scan, $55, 2 plates no drinks tip included. BTW No one has even handed us menus...remember QR code!? No water. No utensils. Not even an acknowledgment. TIPS INCLUDED FOR WHAT?!? ALL utensils on a self serve side cart. After 25 min our guests food was dropped off. Then we sat, waiting as did they letting their egg dishes getting cold...another 15 min goes by. We Ate, finished and as we were leaving noticed a standing 3 some... watched them get full service. How to scan, drink order taken. Utensils brought. Drink order delivered. Like some BH celeb treatment. OK.... Well NEVER AGAIN FOR MEDIOCRE FOOD AT BEST. Cold too! BTW turn off that horrible loud music, anything else would be better! RIDIC read more

Empanadas and juices by the beach.. Count me in! Gaucho delivers on food with an Argentinian twist right on the strand at Alamitos Beach. Sit down and enjoy the ocean while eating on some delicious food. There is plenty of outdoor seating with umbrellas and amazing beach views. Updating my review because I really love this place. The atmosphere just cannot be beat. I take beach walks often and I always find myself stopping here, all the staff are amazing. They are very attentive even though you can quite literally sit anywhere and order on your own. The culture here is very welcoming, very fun, very sexy, or very chill, literally just depends on your mood but they definitely have what you're looking for. Video of tonights order attached. The food was pretty good, but somewhat mediocre! Really fun view with the restaurant being right on the beach paired with nice music. Not a huge fan of their ordering system. You use a QR code to get your food sent out through a mobile website ordering system. The wait time is somewhat long, and the ordering system makes the restaurant lack a welcoming customer service. read more

Awkward service model. Self seating with no host, but seems like there should be one at the podium. Not sure if there is a designated wait staff because the two times I've been it's hit and miss if someone comes to your table which you had to self-seat at, plus they have an online order function you can opt for in lieu of waiting for the server to show. Because of these awkward situations the place feels a bit like a food court at a mall. And if you do order online, it will be delivered by a server, but you will get ALL your food at once - so your appetizers show when your main does. This awkwardness is a shame, because the place has a good location and decent food. read more

what a perfect brunch day! been wanting to check out gaucho beach for a bit visited on a saturday around 1030am thank goodness for the other reviews, bc i would have been really confused so the restaurant is connected to gaucho cafe, which by the looks of it, its seating is majority outdoors they had a window for ordering and pick up i was interested in the costal kitchen its self seating you scan the QR on the table and order from there menu was limited but had a little but of everything they have carts stationed where you can grab iced infused water, napkins, utensils, to go boxes/bags..etc. a waitress did come by, she was super sweet and asked if it was our first time, lol maybe i looked that lost but i inquired on their rooftop seating, she said it opens at 11am and we were okay to order and let her know that we were moving upstairs so she can bring the food up to us ordered: -Chicken & Waffles -Lobster Roll -Calamari great food, great "service" overall a great vibe beautiful space would def go again! parking: metered lots either marina green park or turn down beach access rd from shoreline dr and that will lead you directly to the lot with guacho beach. i believe it was $0.75/15mins. TIP, get the passport parking app, its a lot easier, you can add time from there, there is just a service fee. i think i paid $0.15 read more

I've been walking by this charming beachside restaurant for months, and its stunning ocean views have finally convinced me to give it a try. The colorful buildings and lively atmosphere have made me curious about the delicious food and sunny spot it must offer. When parking, it's a good idea to download the Passport app, if you plan to go before 6pm especially when parking enforcement is out in full force. This way, you can pay for your parking spot quickly and easily, avoiding the risk of receiving a ticket in the time it takes to get back to your car. By paying for your parking through the app, you can ensure that you're not stuck with an unexpected fine, and you'll also be supporting the city's efforts to streamline parking payment processes. I was taken aback when we had to sit ourselves at a table, it's not something I'm used to at a beachfront restaurant like this. But, considering the stunning ocean views and the fact that it was a weekday, the lack of assigned seating wasn't a bad thing - it added to the casual, laid-back vibe of the place. Our waiter was friendly and enthusiastic, but it took a bit of time to get their attention - we had to wait for a while before someone came to take our order. Despite the delay, her demeanor remained warm and welcoming, and she made sure to check in on us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. The pineapple Margarita was a decent drink, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. While it did taste like pineapple and had a unique blue color, it wasn't particularly impressive or memorable. Having had better versions of this cocktail in the past, I'm not sure what the point of the blue color was, as it didn't add to the overall flavor or experience. The combination of melted provolone cheese, fresh tomatoes, caramelized onions, and spicy habanero chimichurri on a toasted brioche bun was absolute perfection. The tangy kick from the lemon aioli added a delightful contrast to the rich flavors. Despite the slight misstep on the doneness, the Gaucho burger was good, but wouldn't get again. The steak and chicken empanadas complicated were excellent! The steak was tender and juicy with a nice char, while the chicken was crispy on the outside and tender within. Both dishes were well-seasoned and allowed the natural flavors to shine through. My sister wasn't too thrilled with the fish and chips, unfortunately. She found the batter to be overdone, giving the fish an unpleasant texture. To make matters worse, the fish was prone to bursting with juice, which was a bit messy and unappetizing. The tartar sauce, which she thought would add a nice tanginess, ended up being off-putting instead, with a weird taste that didn't complement the dish well. arrived at the restaurant at approximately 3:55, waited for 10 minutes in the hall beside the bar for someone to acknowledge that we were present. we stated we would like a table for dinner and were told by the bartender take any table that's open. So we did five minutes later someone came over and cleaned the table and asked if we needed assistance.. we said we had come for dinner and she said I'll send over the waiter... 10 minutes later, the waiter arrived, and we told him we would like to have a menu.... He proceeds to find a menu and brings one menu for three people..... that's right one menu for three people.... we look over the menu and order two steaks, and one salad and calamari...... Approximately 15 minutes later, a server, not our waiter brings steak and the calamari..... Anticipating that the other stake was forthcoming, I was mistaken.... After requesting to see our waiter after 10 minutes, we asked where the other steak was..... said, let me look into it.... Five minutes late he shows up with the second steak..... The steak that was served to me was un edible..... I tried my best, but I just could not eat the steak...... I asked the server if he would send the waiter to me so that I could show him what my problem was...... after a five minute wait and no waiter I decided to go to the bar and ask for the manager.... I explained to him what the problem was and he could see that the steak was un eatable.... he did refund the money that I had paid for the steak....... I only wish that I would not have included a 20% tip for a waiter that was non-existent..... but that's what happens when you have to order pay for and include the tip before the meal is served..... this is a poor poor policy....... So buyer beware if you plan on using this restaurant, I wouldn't pay before you see what you are about to receive.... with the service and food as poor as it was presented to us this restaurant will not be around very long..... Can't even begin to describe how awful this place is!!!!! As a former employee for Almost a year... If only you all knew what was taking place behind closed doors!!!! To start You wouldn't believe the amount of CROSS CONTAMINATION happening here. The surfaces food is prepared on is absolutely disgusting and never ever ever cleaned or sanitized. They don't even wash dishes with soap or sanitizer and only spray them off and run through the machine with water. Health Code Violations? Ha! Long Beach is Notorious for Health Departments not doing their jobs and being paid off by places like this that are owned by the city. The amount of rodents and bugs and disgust in and around this place would make anyone never want to step foot near here again. This place seriously needs to be shut down immediately due to HEALTH CODE VIOLATIONS The owners of Guacho? Who are they? Management? Who are they as well? Who actually controls what's Happening here? The amount of corners being cut to just make money is insane. There is no management and employees are left constantly having to pick up the slack of the business. Employees give inventory through group chat to a manager and that manager then gives the order to his manager and then that person doesn't order what's needed on time for the business to have what's on the menus and then the employees are left telling customers we're out of items. This has been going on since the start and has not changed. I could literally keep going and going and going with how horrible this place was and is. The amount of employees you see come and go, the lacking all around from everyone is ridiculous. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF LONG BEACH SOMEONE SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN!!!!!! I just ate at this restaurant for the first time and upon arrival I wasn't sure what to do exactly. So if you'd like to eat at the restaurant you will find a table and sit. I didn't see a hostess during my time there. Now as soon as we sat down water was brought to us and that was extremely great because it's summer and it hot! So it was really nice to not even have to ask and I appreciated that immediately.Now I'm a mom and I have two toddlers 1&3 years old. So going out is stressful, but honestly the servers were so nice and welcoming. My 3 year old of course had to spill her water and immediately a server came to help us clean it and I'm grateful for that, because he helped lower my anxiety. We ordered two kids butter pastas,fish fingers, and I got the skirt steak sandwich. The food was really good my steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked, it was soft and tender not chewy at all. Honestly for 4 plates and drinks it was not pricey at all. I am very happy with the service, I am very happy with the food. I would definitely come back here. Also we got all our food really fast and it was extremely full and busy during our time there. So I was pleasantly surprised. As a mom with 3 kids who decided to go eat alone with them because my husband is working, I am happy to say it was a great experience. Gaucho Beach is an absolute gem! Every visit here is a fantastic experience, and it's quickly become one of my favorite spots. The atmosphere is simply amazing, perfectly blending a chic, modern aesthetic (the building itself is gorgeous!) with incredibly relaxing ocean views. Seriously, just sitting there and taking it all in is a treat. The music is always on point, setting such a great vibe without ever being too loud or intrusive. And let's talk about the food - it's consistently delicious and satisfying, no matter what I order. I'm also really impressed with the improvements they've made to their service. The switch to having servers instead of just QR codes has made a huge difference; the customer service has improved dramatically, and it makes for a much more enjoyable and personal experience. The bar is super inviting and always a good time if you're looking for a lively spot. Plus, parking is generally a breeze, which is a huge bonus in this area. Highly recommend Gaucho Beach for anyone looking for great food and nice views. P.S. The park next door is great for people with kiddos. More restaurants need to have playgrounds! read more

This place offers a vibrant beachfront atmosphere with energetic vibes and lively crowds--perfect if you're in the mood for a bustling scene by the ocean. We tried two cocktails: the Pisco Sour and El Mercado. Both were tasty and well-made, although the Pisco Sour leaned a bit too bland for our liking. For food, we ordered the Lomo Saltado and the Entraña. The Lomo Saltado was a letdown--it was wrongly seasoned with Ají Panca and lacked the depth and authenticity expected of a traditional "Peruvian" dish. It was also surprising that there was no indication of its cultural origin on the menu, especially for a restaurant that promotes itself as Argentinian. The Entraña was decent, served with fries, but unfortunately arrived well done instead of the medium doneness requested. On the upside, service was prompt and attentive despite the busy environment, and our orders came out without long delays. Gaucho Beach has potential, especially with its location and drinks, but it should be more mindful of dish authenticity and execution. If a dish is going to be called Lomo Saltado, it should live up to the name. read more

My experience this Saturday was nothing short of abysmal. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we were invisible. If it weren't for the self-order service, my wife and I might never have been acknowledged or had the chance to place our order. I practically had to serve myself refills of water as our so-called waitress flitted around attending to other tables. In fact, I had to flag down a busboy who was busy cleaning tables to get the drinks I had ordered before our meal. The food, while consistently good, was overshadowed by the shockingly poor service. It genuinely felt like my presence was a burden to our server. She made a brief appearance to introduce herself and promised to bring us water, but then vanished for the rest of the evening. This level of neglect and unprofessionalism is unacceptable and thoroughly ruined what should have been an enjoyable dining experience. read more

Dang and his partner on the roof is great on a Friday mid-day. You don't have to flag them down for service. They are attentive and they will check on you periodically. If you sit at the bar, downstairs. My experience has been not so good. I've observed the bartenders only taking care of their Spanish speaking customers. Me, I dont speak Spanish, so I have to waive down someone for service. And then when I order, it's about 10/15 min wait to get the drink. Other non- speaking (black) customers had the same experience at the bar. As we discussed it while sitting at the bar. This happened on 2 separate occasions. Emily at the bar is good. She's attentive and you won't have to waive her down for a drink or service. Otherwise. Great view of the water. So. Just ignore the bad service and enjoy the view! read more

First time with this whole yelp thing though I posted my experience but it's not here but I went Sunday 12/21 for lunch, with my mom and younger sister. Food was great but service? It was amazing I had Josue as my server. I've been to all the gauchos recently and this has been the best visit, everywhere else has been so slow. It was best simply because of his service.. amazing. My mom noticed he had several tables at once and was still on it and didn't miss nothing. Which was good cause it was my mom's first time and even more fascinated with the attentive attitude he had and even asked me wow Val how is he doing all of it alone?? Definitely ask for Josue. Such a cool spot right on the beach - we pulled over at Gaucho Beach (separate from café) for delicious Argentinian dining on our bike ride from Naples to Shoreline Village. Our waiter Bang helped us narrow down the extensive choices on the menu. The Ceviche Nikkei, chunks of ahi tuna with plenty of cucumber and onions was like a large bowl of poke. The Pechuga a la Brasa chicken was grilled perfectly with chimichurri on the side and awesome mashed potatoes. We loved our table overlooking the ocean front bike path. There is a second story outdoor dining area open for evenings that promises a great view of the oil islands, Queen and port. We now want to ride again for a sunset dinner. read more

Everything was perfectly Amazing! Sal was so incredible. I am part of Corporate and just happened to be off today on vacation with my family. We had the best service from Sal, he recommended some delicious drinks and explained the popular dishes and sauces to us. The chefs prepared our food perfectly. The service was on point and the staff walking around was so friendly. We will keep coming back for sure. Everyone should come check them out. First time visiting. My son and soon to be daughter inlaw treated my husband and I to a birthday brunch for me. Im so happy we came here. Our server and excellent mixologist Bang was most attentive and made the best drinks I have had in a while. Super delicious We tried both the strawberry basil and the Cadillac margaritas the paloma, a red bull coconut mojito and even a bloody Mary They were all exceptionally delicious. Every single one. Hi Yelpers, I recently returned to Gaucho Beach. While the service was good, it didn't quite match the level of excellence I experienced during my previous visit--likely due to how busy it was. That said, I happened to see Kamilah, who had been my server on my last visit. Although she wasn't assigned to our table this time, she recognized me and went out of her way to be welcoming and helpful. Her professionalism and friendliness truly stood out.
