Woke up the next morning to find out they took my cash and charged my card as well. Called the next morning and got the run around and told me they were not going to rectify the issue. I have been an attendee of this bar for a while, I love the bartenders and the atmosphere. They do their best give you full service, make you feel like your welcome, and make great mixed drinks. That being said, if you are the jubilant type, one who gesticulates often, as it is how you show you're enjoying yourself, I don't recommend this place at all. I understand, I'm loud, I can be explicit, I get it. However, the "co-owner" of the bar told me, on a second warning, that she was going to escort me out, and ban me for life. ... I feel that that was a profound oversight of her authority. I wasn't being combative with other members of the bar, I wasn't involving myself with conversations that were not my own, or violating the space of others. I was, being loud, and I was being explicit. But, I was in a bar, not in a church pew. The most recent experience resulted in my six coworkers, and my self, to start limiting our time at Gators. Just passing through and found this place via yelp. The outside is deceiving, a bit drab, but inside is clean, bright (in the dining room) and welcoming. Staff are friendly and the food is tasty. I started coming to Gator's last year for the volleyball tournaments and returned again this year. Gator's is the most delightfully weird pub, with a mix of sports bar, hunting lodge, and bayou barbeque thing going on. The food is cheap and delicious, the drinks plentiful. Sadie, our usual waitress for post-game snacks and beer, is a complete joy. She is so sweet and has become an important part of the experience. Came here on a Sunday for the wing special with my wife and children in tow. I had always enjoyed the wings here as they are baked ahead of time then fried. They seemed as though they were not cooked the second time today as they were very slimy and the bigger ones were under cooked and pink. The Manager came over and did not apologize for the under cooked chicken. She proceeded to give excuses that they are timed and sometimes this happens. "Sometimes this happens?!" Unacceptable. I went to school for culinary arts and have worked in many kitchens. Undercooked chicken is never okay. Not ever. Cooking time is an estimate. When it's done, is when it is done. After being a patron here for 10+ years I will be finding somewhere else to give my business to. Hopefully no one gets sick tonight in this house. Ah, Gator's... It's one of those places that folks go to because its local. Every time I've gone it's been a different experience. If you're looking for a place to hang out for the evening and drink and sample appetizers, this is your place. I have to say that the onion rings and potato skins are great! I've been going to this place for about four years. It's really the only casual place around for miles and they tend to have a decent beer selection on tap. The problem is the people. The locals are, as others have mentioned, not very friendly. It's not a dive, though. I am not a fan of the local football team as i'm originally from another state. During a play-off game, I cheered when my team scored a touchdown and a guy across the bar threw a coaster at me! He wasn't dangerous, but are you kidding me with that? It gives you some insight into the mindset of most of the locals: outsiders not welcome. There are exceptions, of course, and a-holes are everywhere. But here's what's worse, though: the bartenders barely give my husband and I the time of day even though we're big tippers and we've been there countless times for years! They are very attentive to the locals, although I don't know what their system of classification is for that honor. If you want some pub grub and a really big draft beer- go. If you're looking for warmth or some fun on a weekend, go elsewhere. read more

Awesome family style pub place to go and have fun. Have gone since I was a kid and they always had a chest of brand new toys to go and pick one from before you left. I always looked forward to it as a child, but I am not sure if they still have it anymore. Semi big bar branched, also area to play pool and volley ball. Creative menu that is changing a lot. They also had trivia night which was awesome back in the days. I hope they still do it because it definitely brought a lot of fun to dinners with the fam. It was our families go to place. Haven't been back in five years ever since a kid threw up at the next table and we had to be relocated to the other end of the room. Okay, granted, it was not the fault of the restaurant but it just left us with a bad memory. At last visit they served a huge bowl of pop corn to snack on before eating and we devoured it. Yummy. Great place to hang out and relax. Yes, there are a lot of locals there, but Ive never had waitstaff/bartenders be anything less than friendly and accomodating! The drinks are always good (the Sandy Beach is a personal favorite), and my friends who like beer and wine are always happy, too. The food has been consistently good on my visits, plus there's a bar where you can cut your own fresh bread! I came here with a good amount of people, I think maybe 4-5. We sat at the bar since it was open. It was a Sunday so of course we ordered the wings. (On Sunday their full sized wings are .50 each) We got the buffalo, parm garlic, and buffa-Q. Some of my wings were not cooked, there was blood rolling down the chicken when I took a piece out...... I stopped and asked my friends if their chicken was cooked and theirs was also pink/reddish/bleeding. I complained to the waitress as she was right in front of me. She assured me they were cook and it was fine to eat and explained how they cook their chicken wings (baked then fried) She never offered to make a new batch for me, I know it was just 50 cents but still.. Last time I got a burger with buffalo sauce, roasted red peppers, and blue cheese. Probably the best burger I ever purchased at a restaurant. Cooked exactly how I wanted it (medium rare). When I'm here, I'm usually drinking for some festive reason...like Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve Eve (the 23rd of December), St. Patrick's Day and etc. However, every time that I've ate here I've been very surprised. From full sized chicken wings to king crab legs, Gators has it all. Also, their complimentary popcorn is pretty good, but expect to order a few extra drinks to quench your thirst. Sneaky buggers. There is a pizza joint piggybacking the restaurant. I'm pretty sure that its owned by gators. My wife has had their pizza a few times. It's no "George's" but its pretty good. All in all this is a bar/restaurant that has activities (volleyball, pool tables, karaoke), reasonable priced drinks and pretty damn good food. 4.4/5 stars for me. read more
