I had just had my wisdom teeth out and couldn't eat much of anything. All I wanted to eat was an acceptably decent Mac n cheese so that my family wouldnt have dinner without me. Ordinarily I would never order any food from this establishment as most of it is beyond mediocre. However when I saw this photo of the kids Mac n cheese on grub hub, I decided that it would work. When the food got here, it was not as pictures in the image but bland, cold, Kraft Mac n cheese. Certainly disappointing to eat when I already can barely eat. If your going to use a photo that's not your own, at least make sure it's about 20% comparable to what you actually serve. read more

I'm updating my review because Davenports has changed their dessert menu, particularly their signature chocolate cake, which used to be a standout. After 20 years of a rich, fudgy masterpiece, the new version disappoints with a gritty filling, dry cake and overly light frosting. I've tried it a few times, hoping for improvement, but it's no longer worth ordering. Just can't get on board with this new reiteration. I hope they consider bringing back the original in-house recipe. For now, I'll explore other dessert options here, though I still enjoy their signature Italian food and Caesar salads. But this? This is 100% a Disappointing change. read more

I haven't been to this restaurant in a long time. I went last night and I really did not enjoy it. We ordered off of the two for $40 menu. I heard the chicken Parm is very good. I got the meat, meatball side. And a side salad. I'm gonna blame management for how bad this was. I'm not gonna blame the servers. The servers did not have knowledge of the menu. They were really nice however when you ask about a menu item and they just don't know anything. That means they were not trained properly. The meatball side was OK definitely had a lot of bread fillers in it. The chicken was water injected and not prepared properly. It was really soggy inside. The sauce would've been good if it weren't so acidic. We asked for light sauce. We got lots of sauce covering everything. The pasta was over boiled. The ziti was all broken into pieces from being overcooked. This tells me there's no actual chef / manager watching over this food. Somebody really needs to go in this place and fix it. This is a quality control thing and a management thing. I'm not sure I would go back here. I would rather spend more money and get quality elsewhere than be served Bad food. read more

Yesssss.. I really like davenports! I went on a Friday night and chose outdoor seating. Very cute, had outdoor hanging lights, a band playing and singing; it was a lovely vibe. The menu may looks expensive but the plates are HUGE. Well worth the $$. I brought home alott of leftovers & spent $39 on 3 plates of yummy food! Highlyyy recommend the loaded nachos! The waitress was nice, it took a while for her to come to our table at first, but it was a busy friday night. I have been going to davenports since a child & would definitely recommend this restaurant; every meal is a good hit. Will nott be disappointed. :) read more

Have eaten here many times and it has been consistently very good. The atmosphere is casual, the staff is friendly yet professional. This occasion was a girl's night out. We were seated in a spacious corner booth where we could relax and talk easily. I ordered the Veggie Pizza, which was very good. I wasn't starving and knew it would be just as good reheated the following day. I wasn't wrong! The crust was perfect and topped with their own sauce, cheese, broccoli, sweet onions, fresh mushrooms, tomatoes. A friend ordered the Parmesan Ranch Chicken: two breasts coated with a crunchy Parmesan ranch crust and served with loaded mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. The others ordered from the Fall Menu: Cauliflower Fig and Arugula Pizza (Cauliflower crust topped with fig jam, mozzarella and sautéed onions, prosciutto, baby arugula and shaved parmesan) and the Cranberry Turkey Croissant (Grilled croissant with cranberry mayo, mixed greens, tomato, swiss cheese, bacon and in-house roasted turkey breast). I had the seafood chowder for lunch today and fail to understand how it gets such positive reviews. The main seafood in it appeared to be imitation crab, which had a slimy texture. Yes, the base was creamy and had good body, but this excuse for seafood turned me off. Sorry, Davenports. read more

Went there for the fish & chips and not disappointed at all. Food, prices, & service were very good. We really want to like this place more but just can't. Our experiences there have always been solid but there's something about this restaurant that makes it... I don't know ... not a fav. Maybe it's the dated carpet and decor, the kitchen / servers area open to the dining room, I honestly can't put my finger on it. It's a neighborhood restaurant for us, we just can't seem to be comfortable enough to get there more than twice a year or so. read more

I got a burger and the patty was flat and round, it looked like a baba burger right out of the box and under cooked for medium. Service was slow and the place was half empty. It was pretty decent but I would probably order something different next time. It is more of a diner experience. There were A LOT of screaming kids when we went around 5pm. Went around 6 on a Saturday, there was of course a wait, which was only about 15 minutes. Got an awesome table. Our waiter Jermaine was excellent, I would give him a 4, I saw him bring rolls to other tables, he never mentioned them to us, otherwise I would of given him 5. The Portuguese kale soup was a bit bean heavy, but spicy and delicious. It is national cheeseburger day so of course I got the saloon burger, cooked as asked, and while it was good it didn't wow me. My husband got the buttered lobster roll, same as with me, it was good but not spectacular. The fries were seasoned coated which I know everyone loves, but I hate!! Give me naked fries, crispy on outside chewy on inside. The sangria was delicious. It is exactly what I expected and will go again. read more

i was an employee for a few months. i had just gotten back from maternity leave. i had a 3 month old when i started. from the very beginning i started i worked 40 hours because our rent is so high and i also have a 9 year old. you could imagine how tired i would get working 10 hour shifts with out being able to sit down AT ALL. but yet i still did it day in and day out. recently my baby who is now 6 months old started teething bad and has me up every hour. there is nothing i can do to change this! so once it hits 7/8pm i get quite tired as you could imagine. Well i got a complant i was on drugs about two weeks ago because my eyes were red and tired. (i had just been crying) and today i got FIRED for "looking tired" lol. no shit i look tired. mind you i had never been written up. ive never been spoken too. nothing. ive never signed a paper saying i had a warning or my job was in danger nothing lol. just a "hey u look tired a lot we have to let u go" lol. i will say food is great. a lot of severs are great but dont work there unless u wanna kiss ass 24.7 cuz thats the only way u will make money, rotation is never even. sections are never fair. by far worst managment ive seen if 20 years. out of 15 servers prob 5 make decent money ‍ read more

Been here before but forgot the name, so drove til we found it and voila! Better than ever, staff outstanding, beer selection excellent (liking the Peak Summer Session!). Asked a lovely wait person (Alexa) what beer might suit me (low abv) and she said she remembered me from a while ago, and what beer I had with my baked scrod!! Never disappoints! Davenport's is one of my family's favorite spots. Great service and a terrific menu. The staff goes above and beyond to take care of you. After driving by this place many times and seeing the parking lots full, I've always been intrigued and wanted to try this place, and I finally did on a Monday for dinner with my wife. We were promptly seated and greeted by our server. We both ordered the seafood chowder, i ordered the corned beef Reuben sandwich, and my wife ordered the lobster sautée pasta meal. The food was ok, the service was great, the food came out of the kitchen super fast. In my opinion this place is the equivalent of Chello's, nothing special. It draws an older crowd due to the rewards / points system that they have in place, and the daily specials. read more

Long time customer of Davenport's. It's very pricy but the food use to be fresh and quality so I didn't mind paying the prices. We placed an order with door dash, I ordered the baked stuff shrimp that is supposed to come with potato and two of us ordered side salads. My meal didn't come with the potato and our salads were old and wilted. The salads were so unappetizing we didn't eat them so I basically paid $31 for 4 shrimp. Boy are they going to lose customers fast especially the middle class who work their ass off to make wages that barely keep us afloat, the occasional treat is a big deal and we won't be spending our hard earned cash there anymore. Can't put out such low quality food if charging top dollar especially in these economic times. read more
