Saw all the reviews here and decided to try it out! It wasn't too far from my hotel. Got here on a Wednesday night around 6pm, it was kinda of busy but I sat by the bar. Everyone is so nice and friendly, the bartender was fabulous, felt bad that I forgot his name. Had him recommend some dishes, and he recommended the pork shank, which was delicious, so tender and favorable, it didn't have a chance with me! I also ordered the old fashion with rye, really good too!!! The atmosphere of the place was really chill and cool and all the food looked great! read more

This place is so yummy!! My husband and I went here for date night and were blown away. We made a reservation and our table was ready when we got there. The food was delicious and tasted so fresh! Their drink menu is soooooooo extensive. If you've got a taste for something, they've got it. After our meal, we went downstairs to check out the hydroponics garden. It was impressive!! Would definitely go here again! read more

First time visitor celebrating multiple things visiting from out of the area It started off rocky with checking in for reservations but was told to hang at the bar or walk around (and be notified by text once ready) - understood arrive early but there was dining available both indoor and outdoor and we weren't told or invited to see plants on sight Did receive a text message few mins prior confirming table was ready but upon arrival the table still had to be wipe down and provided with silverware - ended up being seated at a small bistro table Order a zipline kolsch beer (mix between light and dark beer, definitely more on the lighter side) And 4 diff plates that the server communicated will bring out one by one and not all at the same time Elk bolognese Fig and farro salad Bison Bone marrow fried rice with egg All dishes ended up arriving at the same Elk bolognese though a house-made pasta chewy and through the sauce was hearty (was suppose to be elk bison and waygu) tasted like regular ground beef and the baguette was a bit stale The fig and farro salad was a bit overdressed (oily) to taste the freshness of the greens - flavor didn't stand out (did contain combo of figs spiced almonds sunflower seeds) Bison / cooked well, tender, the sweet potato was soft and covered with Boursin cheese, and the broccolini had a firm Crisp taste - definitely the star of the show! Bone marrow fried rice was disappointing. Order looked pleasing but no true hint of bone marrow flavor and the egg was forgotten upon arrival - was expecting more depth and flavor and it just felt and tasted mediocre Service was ok nothing to outstanding - There was confusion with all dishes coming out at the same time and there was only room to hold 2 dishes on the table so the other dishes were sent back from the suggestion of the employee and then we had to flag down our remainder orders once we ate the dishes we had and then had the remainder in boxes Overall, even for a newer restaurant at the price point of spending $135, the quality, flavor, atmosphere, memorable occasion, and service did not align with expectations - understanding it is newer, probably will not be returning anytime soon and possibly a future visit read more

Visiting from out of town, and after a very long work day my friend and I were craving some good food, a glass of wine and a chill atmosphere. Gather checked all of the boxes. It was a Sunday night, so the place wasn't real busy. The bar looked welcoming so we decided to sit there, which we were immediately greeted by a lovely bartender. She was both helpful in recommendations and friendly, wiling to chat with us a bit. Kind service never goes unnoticed and is always so appreciated in my book. They have plenty of options for drinks but in the end I ordered what I came for - a glass of red. It was a pinot from Oregon and I really enjoyed it. Best part? If you check-in on Yelp you'll receive a complimentary house drink with your entree, so hooray for a free glass of wine! For food we started with the crispy brussels and oh my gosh they were amazing. The generous portion came with pumpkin seeds and dried cranberries mixed in, along with shaved pecorino and a balsamic vinaigrette of sorts on top. Chefs kiss. For a main, I had the Gather burger and that was also top notch. I mean can you go wrong with wagyu beef? I think not! Topped with roasted mushrooms, smoked gouda, onions, chili ailoi and verde sauce... what's not to love about this combo. I opted for broccolini side and that was a solid choice. My friend went with the fried chicken entree, which I had to try a bite of. This dish is essentially a generous portion of crispy, saucy chicken over a big bowl of cavatappi mac n cheese, with pickles, hot sauce and radishes. Maybe not the healthiest of meals, but definitely the tastiest. All in all, they have a great menu with lots of variety. Not the cheapest place in town, but you get what you pay for. read more

Food was delicious, service amazing. There was only one bartender but he made sure that everyone was serviced.

WOW! The food here is fantastic. I was absolutely blown away with every aspect of my dinner tonight and would absolutely be back if I'm in town again. I came here for a business dinner with some colleagues and this was the right choice. The ambiance is perfect for a business lunch or dinner or even for a date night out. It sounds like from other reviews they are child-friendly, but I would definitely dress at least business casual as it is a nicer restaurant. The service was outstanding. Our server made fantastic recommendations, was punctual with refills and orders and we had maybe the manager or owner stop by to offer us a view of the downstairs hydroponic towers where they grow the micro greens. Really impressive hospitality by their team. My colleague was between a few drink choices and our server gave us succinct but descriptive information for both choices. She also let us know the watermelon in the watermelon margarita had been freshly puréed very recently. We both decided on this drink and it was fantastic. The salt on the rim was good and it tasted like there was a savory flavor in the margarita itself that made the drink taste great. It was very good. We ordered the Brussels sprouts - this is a trend that has cropped up in almost every new American place across the US so I was not surprised to see it on the menu. The pecorino/cranberry/pumpkin seed combination was good, I would've liked to see them play with maybe a combination a bit more seasonal (it's summer): grilled citrus, ginger, thai peppers, hot honey, etc. the cranberry pumpkin seed combo screams autumn to me. Either way, the dish is delicious and was more than enough as an appetizer for 3 people. They were perfectly cooked. I ordered the porcini dusted Cobia for dinner - this hands down is one of the best meals I've ever eaten. The server recommended I add shrimp to the dish and this was the right choice. Cobia is a white fish (similar to tilapia in flavor but a bit thicker and meatier) and porcini is a mild mushroom. The fish and shrimp sat atop couscous with three sauces: romesco (a Spanish sauce made of almond and/or hazelnut blended with red pepper and tomato), a poblano aioli and whipped feta (sauce-like consistency). The dish was topped with marinated grapes, tomatoes, toasted almonds and fresh basil from the hydroponic system (all of the micro greens are grown in-house). WOW! I read the marinated grapes on fish and I was sold and all of the flavors worked in harmony with each other. The proteins were both perfectly prepared and were so juicy and flavorful. The couscous was perfectly cooked and the three sauces blended together nicely. Really beautiful balance of flavors and textures. Really the only thing that could have made this better is a little more couscous, but I of course added protein (the shrimp doesn't normally come on it) so as it comes is likely perfect. Really standout job with this dish. Amazing amazing amazing. My colleagues both had the red pepper soup of the day and a beet salad. They both said their meals were great and they would come back. I loved everything I tried here and would love to come back for dessert if I have time. Absolutely recommend you stop in if you have the chance. There is plenty of seating so you likely do not need a reservation. If you're on the fence, come here - it will not disappoint! read more

This restaurant has a gorgeous interior space that is unique and inviting. The service was excellent! The food was flavorful and well seasoned. We enjoyed the brussels sprouts, a fig & farro salad, and the bread pudding. There was way too much dressing on the salad, however it was still very good. We came here for my birthday at the beginning of February. We had a reservation for 7:15, they told us it wouldn't be ready until then but we got to our table around 7:05. Since we arrived early, we got to explore the hydroponic garden below the restaurant. It looked really awesome, but they need to clean their fans, they were super dusty! We arrived to our table and our waitress was amazingly helpful. She was kind and knowledgeable about the menu and drink pairings. We started with steak tartare, pork buns, and house red. The pork buns were so good, crispy pork and a hot pepper on top, it was a great combo! I got the truffle pasta, which was good, but not great. I'll get another dish next time, the mushrooms were quite big, the "perfect egg" didn't seem to be done, and serving bread with pasta seemed a bit much. I had a prosecco on the side, which was a fabulous suggestion from the waitress! My husband loved his wagyu steak, especially the bone marrow fried rice side! It was savory and crunchy on the outside. The hubs told the waitress it was my birthday and she came back and filled my glass with more prosecco, a wonderful ending to the meal! read more

I visited Gather for my birthday dinner with my family. The Old Market location is so beautiful, and there is a TON of seating. All of the staff we encountered were incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. Our group ordered two burgers, the hot chicken on cavatappi, and I had the truffle pasta. Everything was fantastic and the portions are very large! I wouldn't say the truffle pasta had a predominant truffle flavor, but it was delicious nonetheless. We also had the Brussels appetizer, and these might be my favorite Brussels in Omaha!! For dessert, we had the vanilla bean cheesecake and the donuts. The cheesecake was tasty, but it was kind of an odd texture. The donuts, however, were delicious, and came with three dipping sauces. Don't forget to visit the hydroponic garden in the basement! read more

My husband and I went here for our Valentine's date, and it was delicious. First of all, as you walk in, it feels so cozy, with exposed brick, exposed kitchen area, and a little dark for good conversation. The food was EXCELLENT. We split the fries with aioli sauce and they were the perfect crispy and we smashed the aioli sauce- our waitress got us a second cup. I got the Porcini Dusted Cobia, which had white fish, couscous, feta, and grapes. I basically licked the bowl clean! It was the perfect, fresh blend of all deliciousness. My husband had elk bolognese with wagyu and it was very tasty. After dinner, we walked downstairs to the garden where they grow all their own herbs thru hydroponic lights. (If you want a picture, I'd suggest against the brick wall opposite the windows into the hydroponics- great lighting! read more

Best French onion soup!! Gotta try the fried chicken, absolutely amazing! The staff were great and welcoming!

*Anthony Bourdain voice* In a town full of mediocre, "middle of America cuisine", which are glorified fast food restaurants, lies a gem hidden in the old market. "Gather" is a perfectly dim lit restaurant that will absolutely wow you with home grown Ingredients. I cannot stress enough, I hate everything about the food scene in Omaha. This place has somehow saved my opinion of the city, and I hope that more local spots take note. read more

Came here on a whim for a Mother's Day treat after being intrigued by such a unique menu. We had no reservations (it was a Friday night) and got seated right away. We got the Bison Wagyu and the Garden Salad and split them both. The serving sizes a great for one person so I would recommend each person get their own entree. The bison was absolutely tasty and the bone marrow rice was so unique. I especially enjoyed the shrimp and the dressing for the salad. The shrimp was perfectly seasoned and cooked and our 2 year old said "that was yummy!" The dressing is light and sweet and really compliments the salad with a nice burst of bitterness. There are plenty of gluten free options on the menu too! We are looking forward to trying more of the menu in the future. read more

We had a great meal at gather! Gather offers very dining experience but also caters well to younger kids, which is a rare combination. My wife and I brought our 2-year old here for an early dinner on Sunday. It probably helped that they weren't very busy at that time, but the staff was great with him and very patient with us as we got him situated. Most importantly, the food was great! The steamed buns were our favorite, but the elk ragu and bone marrow friend rice were amazing as well! The portions are really big so we probably could have split an entree. Gather - Fig salad and Tartare - New American Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

The place is nice, easy to find. The food is decent - served luke warm lacked real flavor or seasoning for the short rib. The problem was really the service. Although, not super busy. It was slow, staff spent too much time chatting and not moving to take orders, clear bills or even ensure food was delivered appropriately. The bar staff was slow and not attentive to details or customers. Visiting would not recommend and will not be back. read more

Did the noodles because of a yelp recommendation. Was fin until the bill came and the charge $14 to add chicken as a protein.

The best waitstaff! For a girls night out we made reservations at Gather and grazed our way thru the menu! Staring with the basil smash with whisky to small plates and shared entrees we barely had room for dessert. Our server Kaitlyn was great with suggestions and favorites as most of us had never been, she was detailed and patient with questions and didn't rush us despite the busyness of the restaurant. Some of our favorites were the Brussel sprouts and mushroom toast, miso salmon ( this was a bit spicier than we anticipated) and chocolate torte for dessert. The portion sizes were more than enough for us to all share and feel well fed. I recommend planning to enjoy the atmosphere and food for more than a quick meal, you'll want to make dining at Gather an event! read more

I love this place! The first time I tried it was on a Yelp Elite event, and I instantly fell in love with it. This time however, we came back and tried it for real! Cathleen was our server and she was outstanding! It's like she knew what we wanted before we knew! We tried the bison short rib on top of a farro risotto. The skin was sooo crispy! It really made the meal for me as I really enjoy a crispy exterior. And the dark chocolate mole was a great addition. I wasn't sure what to expect from it, but the sweet flavor it brought as a dipping sauce brought out a different vibe in such a good way! Truffle isn't my favorite thing, but this one wasn't overwhelming and I enjoyed it. It wasn't anything special or over the top, but good nonetheless. But those Brussels!! Damn! Those things are on a different level. So crispy, flavorful, and mixed with dried cranberries. Ugh...I could eat those every day! read more

Once again, another great visit to Gather! Decided on going here for an anniversary dinner because of the romantic and intimate ambiance of Gather, making it the perfect spot for a date night. The food and drinks were, as always, amazing! I started with the caliente wey, which was perfect. It is so refreshing, and I love the spice to it. There was an option to do salt, sugar, or tajin on the rim, and I'm so glad I went with the tajin. The crispy brussels are a must here, and were great once again! I ordered the elk bolognese this time to try something new, and I will definitely be ordering it again. The house made pasta and sauce were both delicious. One place I knew I had to come to on my birthday weekend was Gather. My friend and I arrived around 530 on a Saturday, and grabbed bar seats right away. For apps, we had the pork buns, imperial tartare, and burrata. They brought the apps out one at a time so it felt like we were having a multiple course meal. Great service and so fun! Gathering at Gather for my birthday was a long-awaited treat after the fantastic experience during the Yelp event. Eager to relish those delightful flavors, we ordered many of the same dishes. Unfortunately, they were out of the carrots that night, but Gather's unparalleled brussel sprouts were still available so I couldn't be too disappointed. These are, without a doubt, the best brussel sprouts I've ever tasted. On the flip side, the truffle pasta fell a bit short of expectations. The portions of mushrooms and pasta were almost equal. My love for carbs and my dislike for mushrooms are about the same, so I was hoping to eat around the some of the mushrooms, but there were sooo many. Despite my experience, everyone else at the table thoroughly enjoyed their selections. We wrapped up the culinary journey with desserts. While the Jackson Donut holes were decent, with a taste reminiscent of fried Pillsbury biscuits, I missed out on the Red Velvet Cheesecake that garnered high praise. Instead, I opted for the chocolate torte, which, unfortunately, didn't quite measure up to their taste but I thought was great. Lastly, the service started strong but seemed to wane as the restaurant got busier to the point where I was trying to rush us out as they told us previously that we had to be out by 7:15 because the table was reserved. read more

I visited Gather on Sunday evening for date night. I had heard a lot of great things about this restaurant and was looking forward to trying it. We dined during happy hour and enjoyed the crispy Brussels and bone marrow fried rice for happy hour. For dinner, I tried the pork shank. I thought the crispy Brussels lacked a bit of flavor, but really enjoyed the bone marrow fried rice. The sweet sauce and pineapple cucumber salad on top paired well with the savory fried rice. The pork shank was also so delicious. The sweetness of the jalapeño jam and carrot puree perfectly balanced the pork. It was a very unique combination of flavors that I really enjoyed! Food presentation of the fried rice and my entree were great too. The concept of this restaurant is really unique. We visited the Gather Urban Farm after dinner and learned about how they grow fresh greens that are cut to order and added to some of the dishes they serve. This place is exceptional! It's a newly opened restaurant in the Market Place area of downtown Omaha. The customer service was impeccable and I could eat here everyday if I lived in the area. That's just how delicious it was! The menu is small but don't let that fool you. That means that every plate gets all the special details and modifications made with perfection. The food came out quickly and I sat outside on their patio listening to a saxophonist entertain the crowd. The people watching was amazing with diverse cultures walking the streets. Almost every one was smoking a vape of some sort. Lol. They also grow their own micro greens and lettuces downstairs using hydroponics! Super cool to see. 5 stars for this location of Gather. They executed everything well, and the indoor herb garden really is a special addition. I enjoyed the elk bolognese with handmade noodles, but the sauce was missing something. I couldn't put my finger on it but it wasn't as great as I would have hoped. We didn't find the fried chicken to be anything special, but the Mac and cheese had a very tasty cheese sauce on it. The pork belly bao buns were a table favorite. I love a dish that hits all the flavor components; it was salty and tangy and crunchy and umami and spicy. Really tasty pork belly. Make sure you eat immediately upon delivery. If the buns sit on the table they change consistency and become more gummy. I wasn't that impressed with the charcuterie board, it had a couple of meats and cheeses that were tasty but there were quite a bit of seeds and micro greens and things that we didn't really eat. I really love to see dried fruit, jams or chutneys, grapes, honey, mustard, roasted nuts...things like that on a board. This board had a couple special accoutrements but not enough. And not enough bread. Our server was friendly and knew a lot about the restaurant and the menu. We enjoyed visiting the garden downstairs. What a cool concept of growing your own herbs. read more

Can I give zero stars? Although I've been several times before, this meal was well below average. We sat on the patio in the back. The server who was out there didn't want to be working on a holiday. (July 4th) And while I appreciate that, it also goes with the territory. I ordered the panzanella salad. This is a place that lives on its in house GUF garden. Yet I got a salad that was absolutely DROWNED in dressing. Delicate greens cooked by vinegar. Soggy and thoroughly unappetizing. The greens and vegetables were all thoroughly wilted. I paid nearly $60 for this unappealing "pleasure". Gross. read more
