Decided to stop here on a road trip as per the recommendation of a friend. 'Go to the place that grows stuff onsite,' she said. 'I can't remember the name.' Well the name is Gather, and it was definitely a nice experience. Sat at the bar around the end of happy hour, and service was thoughtful and pretty attentive (aside from a moment when the bar was slammed with an order for like 25 pinkish specialty cocktails). As per the guidance of the bartender I got the pork shank. (I was debating another entree but she very honestly told me it was a newer dish that got a few mixed reactions, so I pivoted.) I got a very flavorful and tender side salad to start, (all those freshly trimmed greens certainly make a difference), and the shank itself did not disappoint. Fall off the bone, and wonderfully paired with the sauces and other accoutrements. I will say the main dining area was pretty bustling (loud); I realized later just how sprawling the restaurant was, and that there was an outdoor section on the side of the building that I likely would've preferred. That said a fun place with solid food and solid people. And definitely check out the "garden" below! read more

I was excited to try Gather in Omaha during a brief visit to the city to experience the nighttime ambiance of the historical Old Market district, which features a seemingly endless array of well-preserved historic warehouses. Despite being located in the steak capital of the country, they have a serviceable veggie burger on offer. The toppings and brioche were much enjoyed, but I felt an impossible burger might have been a better choice of patty. The oily brussel sprouts on the side were definitely the best part of the meal. read more

One of the best cheese burgers I've had. I ordered it medium well and it was perfect tasted fresh and cooked to perfection.

Had a great dining experience here! Arrived right before the end of happy hour and started my night off with a delicious old fashioned. Given the restaurant has a Hydroponic Vertical Urban Farm, I started with their caesar salad which came out very fresh and had tons of flavor from the anchovies, pecorino, and tomatoes. Settled on getting a burger and fries for my main entree and it was such a great choice. The burger was cooked perfectly and had tons of flavor from the mushrooms, sauce, and cheese. The chili de arbol aioli was so good I was dipping my burger into it. Fries were shoestring and fried with the perfect crunch. Got to check out the farm downstairs as well and found it really cool. Overall, an amazing experience and one of my favorite places I got to enjoy in Omaha. read more

The fresh greens are a delightful and unique feature of this great casual but upscale restaurant. The service was very prompt and the wait after ordering was reasonable. The kitchen is open concept and efficient. Great spot for date night. The salad or greens are a must try! read more

Started out with the pork buns. Soft pillowy buns stuffed with meat and red pepper. Good combination of sweet and heat. Caviar and tots for the next appetizer. Delicious. Fancy tots dotted with caviar came of tasting like salty potato chips. Kinda like the Dave Chang potato chip and caviar combo. For the entree I got the elk bolognese. Good wide noodles that did a good job of holding the sauce. All in all I couldn't tell it was elk nor like beef with a lesser amount of flavor. I enjoyed it. Oh and the cilantro margarita.... If you're a fan of cilantro then this is for you. read more

The food here is absolutely amazing and touring the farm in the basement was a ton of fun. Service was fast, tho not necessarily the nicest. Be prepared to spend a bunch of money, but it's a very original menu. I've never even eaten marinated grapes or pickled blackberries. I had a whiskey smash made with simple syrup from their own basil. read more

This place is a 1000% go-to if you are visiting or a resident of Omaha! everything from the ambience, to the staff, to the menu and the food is just outstanding! I had the opportunity to go to Gather on Mother's Day with my husband and toddler. At first, I was a little bit nervous about bringing our toddler but we got a highchair and scooted her right up to the table and things went absolutely fantastic! I had been to Gather one other time for an event and was really excited to have the the pork buns again. They are to die for!!! We ended up having the Pork Buns which included housemade bao buns, crispy braised pork belly, kimchi, and fresno chiles as our appetizer. The flavoring is just out of this world and the pork belly is cooked to perfection! Our amazing waitress was so kind and asked if she wanted us to have our daughters mac & cheese brought out early and we absolutely took her up on! My husband and I tasted the mac & cheese and it was delicious! For my entrée, I ended up getting the Gather Burger and it was fantastic tasting! I feel like the team and gather put together a really well thought out burger and all of the different flavor profiles works really well together! The fries were also amazing! My husband ended up ordering the Fried Chicken and he loved it!! After eating our fantastic meal, I was pretty stuffed. I really wish I would've had room for some dessert but that will be for next time! The absolute bonus at the end for us was because it was Mother's Day they had given me a yellow carnation and my daughter carried it to the car and all over the place once we got home! Thank you gather for a wonderful experience! read more

I honestly could stop the review at, "they grow their own herbs in the hydroponic room you can check out and they locally source their meats." But what fun is that? We showed up at Gather because I'm one of ~those people~ who's against seed oils and they don't use them allegedly. Our waiter was friendly enough and we got our food pretty quickly. My wife ordered their burger which comes with fries and I got the wagyu flatiron. The burger was great. The beef was notably well seasoned and the fries were also phenomenal. I didn't like the orange sauce it came with on the side but doesn't really make or break the dish. The steak was also very well seasoned and the chimichurri was awesome. I ordered the steak medium-rare like everyone should, and while it came out much more rare than medium, it was still good. My only other minor complaint with the steak was that there wasn't a very prominent crust on the outside which was a bummer. The steak came with broccolini (fire) and elote (also fire). Overall, the food tasted really good even if it wasn't "perfect". Great spot for a more upscale date night. read more

Great food and great service. Stumbled on this place by accident while walking downtown. Ordered the French onion soup and waygu burger. Both were amazing had a deep rich flavor and fresh. Garden under the restaurant is a plus as they grow a lot of the greens they use. Highly recommend and you will see why their rated so high. read more

The food we had was fine, but nothing particularly special and for the price, I think there are much more interesting options in Omaha. I like the location, and I think it has potential, but I also found it slightly off putting that for that price point they had tvs above the bar. It felt like the kind of atmosphere that shouldn't have football on tv in the background. read more

We went on a Saturday night around 6pm - the food was really good. I had the fried chicken and we have the steak tartar. The service was OK, but not amazing. The waitress didn't really check on us much, it seemed like they might have been a little understaffed. She was very nice, just didn't really come to our table very much. Overall, was good. Would go back! read more

Since I touched down in Nebraska I kept seeing ads for this place so I decided to make a visit and boy was it good. Started with the red blend wine and the gather mule which was very refreshing. The service was fast and she even took a few pictures for us the check came in a little book so cute. The place has art work all over the place and really catches your eye. Dimly lit sets quite the mood for any type of night. The Mediterranean plate was absolute fire. All of the parings messed so well really enjoyed the basil pesto, only thing I would add is more naan the portion seemed off. We shared the truffle pasta, which had plenty of mushrooms and gave the dish more depth. The green room downstairs was so cool to see where produce comes from. Overall I would love to check out more of the menu when I'm in town. read more

Ooohh bison ribs. Once I saw that on the menu, I had to have it. I always try to get something I haven't seen before, especially if it's bison because bison is a healthier type of red meat. It was tender and delicious, and I loved the sides that came with it. The service was excellent. The bartender and waitress gave me a lot of enthusiastic recommendations, and also what they didn't care for, honesty is important because if they say everything is good, then you can't really trust that. I must also add, CHECK OUT THEIR indoor hydroponic farm in the basement. It is really impressive, a true farm to table place, or really a "basement farm to table." They have a ton of fresh picked vegetable ingredients and I would come back here just for that. read more

The food and ambiance is absolutely amazing! The food was really good, I love their mushroom pasta. It's so creamy, fragrant and so delicious. The interior is big and really pretty. My dad and I snagged a reservation at 5pm on a Saturday evening after the Berkshire conference. There's a lot of seating indoor and outdoor. The place is located in Old Town. The garden downstairs is cool to look at for a minute. The elk bolognese was phenomenal. The meat sauce was delicious and the home made noodles were on point. The flat iron steak, unfortunately, did not deliver. I took a bite of it and almost choked. I accidentally ended up swallowing it whole and almost choked again. Then my dad took a bite and almost choked. He spat it out. Now, my dad is like a garbage can and will eat anything and NEVER complains about food. But he said this was the worst steak he had ever had. For the expensive price ($45), you wouldn't expect the restaurant to use low quality steak that is inedible. He was very upset and said we won't come back again. When the server asked how our meals were, we told her the noodles were good but that the steak was inedible and showed that my dad didn't eat it and spat it out. She just looked at it and said "oh. would you like to see the dessert menu?" She didn't even act like she cared. Rude. We were upset they served us cheap meat and then didn't even empathize with an "I'm sorry." Update: the restaurant reached out to apologize and offered to make it up to me. I appreciated this gesture greatly. read more

Amazing food (Fried Chicken), drinks (Mule), service... everything. It was my first experience at Gather and I will for sure be back!

We celebrated our first wedding anniversary here and it did not disappoint. First off, the service was excellent. Every employee that walked by our table congratulated us. The environment was welcoming, sleek, and upscale with a homegrown feel. We went to the basement to see the garden and it was very cool! It was also nice knowing that parts of our dishes were grown and picked in house! Now the food, all delicious. The first comment I made to my husband was that you could taste all the layers of flavour in each bite. You could taste the freshness and we enjoyed every bite. The Mac and cheese was a highlight for my husband and we agreed that it was the largest servicing of fries either of us had ever seen. We will definitely be back, with friends! read more

Went twice when visiting Omaha and made sure to try different food each time. This place does not disappoint if you enjoy well thought out dishes!! I didn't snap a picture of it, but the appetizer carrots are so good! All of the entrées are also delicious and worth the price because these are not your typical dishes. I love how they use unique ingredients like lions mane mushrooms, bison and of course their own superfood sprouts! Inside it's a cozy yet elevated atmosphere but the second time my mom and I got lucky and were able to sit outside where there was a street performer playing sax close by to give a chill ambience. Highly recommend for a special meal. read more

Gather is one of those restaurants I think of when I want to enjoy a beautiful open and elegant ambiance while also eating a thoughtfully delicious meal. I've luckily been able to enjoy two lovely dinners here, with my boyfriend and friends, and just recently me and my boyfriend. Each time we made reservations in advance and were seated promptly once we arrived. Our servers each time were quick to greet us and offer drinks. I love that the layout of the restaurant has the bar in the middle and each area has its own distinct feel. From the patio seating, the corner round tables, the high tops, all the way to the intimate back area. Fitting for whatever experience you're going for. My favorite menu item I've enjoyed ordering and has been consistent each time I've tried it is the crispy brussels. I love how the brussels are crispy throughout, the oil they use is tasty and the cheese, dried cranberries, and pepitas harmonize so well with the perfect amount of crunch and sweetness. It's a winner! We've also had the mushroom toast this last time we visited along with the big charcuterie board. I love the variety of cheeses and meats they include on the board, along with other toppings. I especially enjoyed the dried figs, cranberries, shelled pistachios, their house made kimchi, beets, and pepitas. For their meat variety I loved the salmon rillette the most. My only wish is to include more bread with the board! The mushroom toast was delicious albeit different from what the two of us were expecting, but tasty! Our servers each time were friendly, professional, and helpful with any questions we had about our meal or what to choose from. I know we will comeback here again in the future. I especially love their farm to table and being able to see their vertical farm down below. I hope we can see more restaurants that offer something like this. I look forward to trying more of their meals in the future! read more

Went to Gather for my birthday and have no complaints! The service was great. The food is on the pricier side, but it's worth it because they use high quality, local ingredients. The ambiance is more upscale and catered to adults tastes, so I wouldn't really recommend this place for kids. I tried the pork shank, and it was so tender. The truffle pasta was homemade and you can really taste the difference. I highly recommend trying the little donuts/ beignets. They are so fluffy and melt in your mouth. Food was wonderful in a pretty setting. Loved the Mother' Day Brunch! Staff were so friendly and attentive.

I've never had a bad experience here! Between dinners with friends and Yelp events, I have always left feeling more than satisfied. The restaurant itself is very nice and feels elevated. Just like many other places in Omaha, you could dress up if you wanted to but would be just as fine in causal clothes. The staff is very kind and receptive to our needs. Some dishes from here that stand out to me are the Brussel sprouts, truffle pasta, burger, and elk Bolognese. Whenever I'm there, I always have to make the quick stop by their hydroponic garden downstairs! Quick tip for anyone with tickets to a Broadway show at the Orpheum - for the 2023-2024 season, you can go here on the day of your show and get a glass of their house wine for a penny (with the purchase of food as well). Best steak dish in the Old Market in my opinion! I love gather - everything on the menu is done to perfection with a rotating menu, kind & attentive staff, and a fun & modern but classy atmosphere. Celebrated a birthday at the Gather, with high hopes. Sad to report that the favored Waygu Flatiron cut did not cut the mustard. I tasted it and found it chewy (like rubberbands) and little flavor. My date was equally disappointed and noted that the very last bite tasted the best and did not return the dish so as not to dampen the birthday vibe..wish he had. Nonetheless...my entree was the creamy asparagus with gnocchi and shrimp. We both agreed that it was on point and the shrimp had a mild, but flavorful mouth full of goodness. I enjoyed the lavender-lemonade mocktail and my friend had a smooth Early Times Old Fashion with a yummy citrus orange peel! Service was on point. We had made a reservation, but would have been able to walk in (5:30pm res). We had the Dirty Fries for an appetizer and then popped downstairs to check out the hydroponic farm! A must do! You can also pick up a container of fresh greens to take home! We opted for dessert elsewhere in the Old Market. Sorry no pics...too busy eating and enjoying the dining experience. Would go again..just no Waygu. read more

We spent a celebratory anniversary dinner here on a whim a few weeks ago. Our wait time was minimal, and our service was prompt each time we interacted with the staff. We started with the broccolini at the recommendation of a good friend and it was DELIGHTFUL. Such a satisfying savory appetizer that doesn't leave your stomach feeling heavy and too full for your entree. The elk Bolognese and the fig and farro salad were our entrees for this visit, and both were delicious and filling and complex! I loved this place. I loved the vibe and the ambiance. I loved our beautiful waitress who was charming and attentive but not overly so. I loved the hydroponics downstairs. We came in for drinks, appetizers and dessert. To be honest, we were eating our way around Omaha and this was our second dinner that evening. I loved the Brussels sprouts. The cranberries and pumpkin seeds and everything they put into the dish just works very well. I took home the leftovers and I loved the rest of it. The mushroom toast points were exactly what I expected. The holy grail was the bread pudding!!! The edges were slightly crunchy and the interior was hot, soft and delicious. I didn't think I'd be crazy about the raisins but they were plump and tasty, not just a typical raisin! And the sauce and ice cream WERE TO DIE FOR. This is part of my Last Meal. Seriously crazy good. I really, really enjoyed the PBJ drink. If you love sweet drinks and love Skrewball, you'll love it. This is high on my list of places to return. I tried to think of one thing to improve, and there just wasn't anything. Well done! read more

Everything was fresh, and everything was tasty at Gather in Omaha! We came in the day before Labor Day, and if you are coming on a holiday weekend, I'd definitely recommend placing a reservation to avoid any potential wait time. The interior of the restaurant was cozy, modern, and pleasant. We came in a large group of 9 and had been placed at a table in a room kind of by itself, but we were never forgotten about service wise. The drinks and food were all brought out quickly. From Manhattans to Margaritas, you couldn't go wrong with anything. And the food was impeccable. We order bao buns, pork shank, and the truffle pasta. We were happy with the quantities in each dish, but my favorite personally were the bao buns. They weren't too dry and were filled well. The flavor in each dish was also unique and definitely something you need to try on your next visit to omaha! One cool thing about gather, all of their garnishes and herbs are grown in-house. There is a team of 15 gardeners whose sole job is to grow the vegetables and fruit for the restaurant. You are able to go and see the garden in house so make sure you don't miss out on that! All in all, it is a wonderful place for dinner or to celebrate any occasion read more

This is a beautifully decorated space that facilitates the concept of gathering together to eat amazing food! I enjoyed the gather burger immensely with a juicy and flavorful patty that melted in my mouth, the only thing that could have elevated this burger would have been some kind of acid to cut through the burger fat, cheese, mushrooms and grilled onions to brighten it. Maybe pickling the slaw could be a simple change since it already comes with slaw on it. The fries left something to desire but since the burger is meant to be the star of the plate I wasn't surprised. Lots of their menu items looked amazing so this will be a stop for me again the next time I'm in Omaha for sure! read more

Our server was super attentive and sweet! The food was really good too! I didn't not have much expectations for the mussels but it blew my mind away. The chorizo added a spicy, savory, and garlicy flavor that paired very well with the mussles. The only downside was that the foccaia was very doughy (not sire if that was intentional tho). The salad was super refreshing especially with how hot it was outside! The dressing was saucy, tangy, sweet, yet spicy! The fish was super meaty, and paired very well with the couscous, yogurt, and veggies! read more

Out of a tremendous number of restaurants available in Omaha, we decided to try gather in Omaha because of its eclectic menu. We were not disappointed. The pork buns, a bow bun stuffed with shredded pork and crispy vegetables was incredibly good. That was our starter. My colleague had the vegetarian noodles tossed in soy and a light sauce with Udan noodles and vegetables that was the hit of the evening. I had the Korean imperial waygu done medium rare. Bone Marrow Fried Rice, Sweet Soy, Cucumber Pineapple Salad, Nori Komi Furikake (Sesame Seeds & Roasted Black Seaweed). This dish was nothing short of spectacular. I just wish there had been more beef. It was truly delicious. Our server, Kaitlyn was outstanding! She paid just the right attention to us while leaving us alone to enjoy each other's company and the wonderful food she served. We talked it off by sharing a bread pudding with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. That was very good. If you are in Omaha, try the Gathering in Omaha it is absolutely worth the trip read more
