My girlfriend and I came here to give it a shot. We understood that it is a new restaurant. We ordered 4 dishes and we were sat at a small table after a Long wait even though there were a decent amount of empty tables. I've worked in 4 restaurants and I understand that might be necessary because of servers that didn't come in to take the extra tables, that's good service when it's understood that only certain tables can be served. Otherwise it's just laziness which is frowned upon in the industry. All 4 dishes came to the table at the same time... definitely not convenient for two patrons at a small table. Two of the dishes were taken back and then brought out again freshly made when we were ready. The server did well and I understand that it's not an easy job. She may have been busy and I feel that pain. All in all we had a decent experience but a number of factors caused a so so review. read more

Disingenuous, slow and inept....just a couple of terms! The manager 6/13/23 smug and definitely in the wrong profession...her ratty t-shirt I'm sure she thinks looks hip...she rolled her eyes when I cashed out. I was not looking to remove anything from the bill...even though I did not eat or drink anything. She did not come over to see if a problem existed...just told them to cash me out. It's all about service, which they don't have! Bottle of wine and dinner I did not eat or drink and paid for....would rather eat the check than ever frequent this place. I'm sure the food is good../but service does not exist read more

Maybe I am missing something. This sleek modern eatery has all the makings of being something great. Local food and an interesting menu. But the execution was just lacking. Especially the elk bolognese which was just a mouthful of salt! Rustic noodles that were too thick and a sauce lacking depth. Staff was fine but not on it as they should have been. Simply put, there are Bette options in Omaha. read more

What a find! Not only is this right in the market, they GROW their own greens and herbs in the basement. We had positively fantastic service, a great table (this place is huge! So many good seats), and great food. The basil hummus platter was the best, but also loved that mushroom toast. The fig and farro salad dressing was dynamite. Would totally go back every time I'm in Omaha! read more

Well, that was amazing. I walked around the area looking for a fun place to eat and was lured in by the patio. I looked up Yelp and discovered it's a new place. The hostesses were very gracious, especially a balm to solo diners like me tonight. The waiter helped me figure out dinner. I had the elk bolognese, which was rich and unctuous and glorious. I started with the Caesar salad, which was also good. The waiter, Sean, was attentive without being too hovering. The manager, Tony, came by to say hi. I thought it was a nice touch that he remembered my name when he later came to ask how my dinner was. I'll return for sure. read more

Phenomenal! Dinner here was an experience from the start to when we ended it downtown stairs amazed by their own growing area for fresh herbs. I ordered a chocolate coffeetini which was strong and delish. My friend and I like to order a mix and share so we loaded up on several appetizers- carrots, black eye peas, Brussels sprouts and ended up eating every single bite! After a few more drinks we realized we were already pretty full so passed on an entree and went for the sweet stuff. Dessert was a chocolate torte which was probably the best I have ever had. My friend is gluten free so having places that make great food that she can easily enjoy is even better. I will dream of those carrots....seriously. And since we barely scratched the surface on the menu choices, we will be back next time we are in Omaha. read more

Awesome meal at Gather recently (finally!) with equally stellar service. The space layout is impressive too, like an industrial / casual, yet elegant. Perfect for the old market. Food to match! We shared a burger, mushroom toast, and pork belly steamed buns. All totally delicious and worth writing home about. Cannot wait to return ASAP. read more

We stopped in here on a Tuesday night without reservations and they were gladly able to accommodate us. All the service from hostess to waitress was appreciated and the ambiance was casual yet chic. Must check out their underground garden - talk about 'farm to table'! We started with the mushroom truffle pasta and wow it was delicious. I'm glad we shared it bc it was a heavy dish, but so worth it and so flavorful. I then got the vegan burger, which was very tasty and the aioli sauce really stood out, but the burger patty was too soft in texture. Others at the table enjoyed the fried chicken and bolognese. We were too full for dessert but would love to come back to try! read more

Absolutely fantastic! Food, ambiance, and service. Can't say enough... Monday night and the restaurant was packed. My salmon was cooked to perfection, almost still swimming in the middle yet crispy on the edges, delicious with the citrus acidic greens in the side. Red chicken over pasta was perfection also with tender crispy chicken over slightly cheesy pasta so it was not overwhelming. Make sure to visit the basement to see the greens growing.... I'm a foodie and I've never seen anything like it!!! Amazing!!! read more

TLDR; Excellent, albeit a bit pricey. Came here on a Wednesday night with a friend and there must have been an event downtown because it was hoppin' (always a good sign!) We were seated immediately and while I do understand restaurants putting their menus online via QR codes, I sometimes like a physical menu. It personally irks me because I hate to be the people eating dinner together with everyone staring at their phone...I digress. I saw a post on Omaha Food Lovers about their truffle pasta and being a truffle groupie, I obliged for this entree. Since it had no meat, I also added their salmon to go with it. We also ordered brussels to start. The flavor was good for the sprouts but unremarkable. Again, good, but not in my top 3 for brussel sprouts and maybe a bit on the heavy side of oil. The pasta dish, however, was phenomenal. The noodles tasted like they were made from scratch (please let that be true) and the variety of mushrooms throughout the pasta were generous and flavorful. The added salmon was cooked perfectly with a crispy out layer, yet still tender on the inside. Not sure what my deal was but I was too stuffed for dessert so I'll have to swing by around and try that next time. We ran into friends who were there at the same time and they recommended to try the Waygu burger the next time we're in. My friend exclaimed, "This might be the best burger I've ever had in Omaha!". Will certainly be back to try the burger and also tour the basement garden! As mentioned above, it is a bit pricier for entrees even considering the rise of inflation and other similar caliber restaurants. PRO TIP: As of 5/18/22 they have a $75 for $100 gift card deal at Costco on Dodge so snatch it up! Also, they have clean bathrooms :) read more

Husband and I were out of town and wanted something more adventurous but approachable. This place was it!!! Husband had the wagyu and said it might be the best plate of food he's ever had. The pork buns were AMAZING!! Honestly, I'll never go there again without ordering them. SO GOOD!! The service was top notch. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and genuine. The restaurant itself has an industrial chic feel. Casual enough for an average night out but can be also fitting for more upscale for celebrations. Right in the middle of downtown, it's in walking distance from lots of fun things. read more

My, our, first here. B and friend are here for large group dinner meeting tonight. I'm dining solo as they take samples for analysis! A cheesecake first and was real good but a small portion. Truffle Pasta was really good and might be my first ever truffles. Mushrooms they are but these had more flavor than mushrooms I've had. Brussell sprouts also as side dish and are excellent. Lots nice menu food options and I want to try more. Perfect service also. read more

My kids really enjoy the pork shank. I've been here a few times and can tell the people here are not the biggest fans of black families

Stopped in on a Saturday evening with a large party including small kids. Got a table right away. Service was awesome, super patient with kids and made modifications no big deal at all. The food was delicious, came out promptly and presented artistically. Would recommend for any occasion! read more

There were pros and cons about the meal here. I selected the $49 bison because I saw the plate served beside me and I can tell you that serving sizes and consistency vary greatly. My biggest problem was that clearly my bison was delayed coming out because it looked like it had been sitting on the counter a long time heat lamp dried and cold. I cannot say why this happened for certain but I can tell you that our waitress was very nice, very friendly, and took her time. She was the one doing the serving. Perhaps it sat in the window for over 15-20 minutes while she received an order from a table of 4? The chicken nuggets served to the children were very dry and not chewable. Even though I cut it in very tiny bites, about the size of my pinky tip, and even dipped in sauce , they found it unappealing and didn't eat it. It really was way overcooked and just very dry and the coating on the top was hard to bite into and chew even from my perspective. The salads are the best, fresh greens! Even though there was a special request to hold the tomatoes on the salad, everything came out as expected/requested and was quickly eaten. A+ Be sure to visit the basement growing room. read more

Excellent food, good service. Fresh ingredients (some grown onsite) well conceived and prepared. Our service was great! The server was very attentive and provided a pleasant experience. We ordered the Brussels which were very good, the white wine vinegar maybe a taaad bit overwhelming. We split the fried chicken that came with cheesy pasta, very generous portions and extremely delicious! The hot sauce didn't have that spicy siracha esque heat to it so it was quite enjoyable without the overall hot mouth feeling. We also split the chocolate torte with vanilla ice cream. We wished it had a crust or some nuts or berries to break up the chocolate texture/taste. We made a reservation on their website and were seated promptly upon arrival. Our seat was quite close to other guests and their conversations were a bit distracting. But overall I definitely recommend! read more

I have always felt this location is one of the best downtown and over the years has operated as a number of different restaurants. I believe most recently housed the Market House, which was sadly only open for a few months before destroyed by fire. Gather fills the space very well. I don't even know how to describe the cuisine - the website lists it as 'creative American' which I feel fits. Our group of 4 sampled a bit of everything - pork buns (definitely get) and Mediterranean Burrata for starters then the burger, Bolognese (with elk and bison, very tasty!) and for me Korean Marinated Wagyu - the flavor of the meat was outstanding and I couldn't resist the bone marrow fried rice. Service was excellent and we even took some time to explore the impressive vertical gardens in the basement. I love they are utilizing the gardens to source some of their own food with goals to sell their harvest to other local restaurants. Definitely a great restaurant to check out in Omaha! read more

4.5 stars for the food, 5 stars for the service! We came for dinner and our waitress Michelle was fantastic. I had the house salad, very tasty, and the pork shank which was phenomenal. It was bursting with flavor and the pork was cooked perfectly (tender, fell off the bone). I tried the wagyu which was good, but it did not need the sauce on it. The bone marrow fried rice was divine, it is one of those things that you eat and it just makes you happy. But be warned, it is very heavy and quite a calorie bomb (well worth it though). I was impressed with the quality and flavor of the dishes and would definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

Gather is in our top 3 restaurants EVER. Definitely our favorite restaurant here in Omaha!!! The atmosphere is fun and light. Everyone is friendly! We were looking at all the plates as they passed. To start with, our table shared a plate of pork buns. They were full of flavor and had amazing, complimentary textures. Then we shared the crispy rice, which again, was delicious. I had the miso salmon over island sea peas and it was INCREDIBLE. My husband had the bison and cobia with fondue sweet potatoes. Yum, yum, yum! Don't forget to check out their hydroponic garden downstairs...it is quite a sight to behold! We WILL be back! read more

just wow.. i've been wanting to go to this restaurant for MONTHS, and it did not disappoint in the slightest! made a reservation for my birthday dinner here and glad I did :) we started the night with some drinks, first with some rosé and then one of their cocktail called the Becky. this drink was SO yummy, light, and refreshing. it was garnished with some mint too which came fresh from their garden in the floor below. there was such a great selection of different drinks here too from domestics, liquors, wine, and cocktails :) for our appetizers we ordered their pork buns, a mushroom flatbread, and their brussel sprouts. their pork buns were the best i've ever had! such good flavor and the pork was moist :) the mushroom flatbread was something different i've never had, and again did not disappoint. definitely mushroom-centered so if you only "somewhat" enjoy mushrooms maybe order with care. our third appetizer was brussel sprouts which were done very deliciously, no complaints with any of the appetizers :) finally the entrees! i tried both the truffle pasta with chicken and the elk bolognese. both were amazing pasta dishes! the truffle pasta was great because it was a large shareable for the table, and you had your choice of different protein to add in too which was nice! the elk bolognese was great too, with a red sauce and tender elk :) again no complaints in sight with these dishes overall this place was wholesome modern restaurant, felt like we weren't in Nebraska anymore either! after dinner we visited the greenhouse downstairs too which was such a unique feature of this restaurant, and interesting to see how it's all set up for this farm-to-table style restaurant! will 100% be coming back :) read more

My husband and I had heard great things about Gather and decided to give it a try for date night. It was fabulous! Our server was amazing, and the food was equally as great. The pork buns are a must-try for an appetizer! The buns are soft and pillowy, and the pork is so flavorful. We also ordered the fries to share, and the orange sauce served with them was so good and addicting! Our server noticed we loved it and brought us more! My favorite item was the mushroom pasta, recommended to us. It's super rich, with meaty mushrooms. I still dream about it! read more

Love the concept of this restaurant, but was a little let down this first time around. May need to give it another shot because of the starters alone. The pork buns were so good that anything after would pale in comparison and that was unfortunately the case for the braised short rib. Our server told us that they busy and that we would be having slow service which was both a pro and con for the group. At least we knew what we were getting from the start, but I can't say slow service is what the people rave about. read more

The food was delicious! It was hard to decide what to choose because there were so many great options. We selected mostly appetizers and sides which filled us with content (pork buns were finger-licking delish, crispy Brussels, mushroom toast was comfort food on toast, broccolini and black-eyed peas and greens had interesting mixture of flavors of sweet and spicy). Great service from all the staff including the manager! All the staff worked very well together serving us unlike most restaurants that have designated wait staff per area. Everyone checked up on us and not just 1 person. They were very patient and helpful; no one rushed us from seating to menu selections. And exquisite ambiance!
