I had a wonderful meal at Gather. This was the first restaurant that the concierge at the Farnam recommended and I understand why. This is truly what I want when dining out, fresh, thoughtful, and delicious food paired with a comfortable atmosphere. Deciding what to order was truly a challenge, I persevered though. To start, I ordered the Mediterranean burrata, which was served with fresh naan, olives, fig jam, basil hummus and herbs. It was delicious! To follow, I ordered the Fig and Farro salad with a side of hand cut fries and House Chili De Arbol Aioli. It felt like I got an order of fries with a side of salad and I couldn't have been happier! I'm certain this is just my first visit of many to Gather! read more

Gather has been on my list since before it opened when I heard they were going to be growing their own herbs. I absolutely loved the atmosphere; It felt like we were at a restaurant in New York. Our waiter was fabulous and the food was great. I read all about the mushroom toast before we went and it did not disappoint. The bao buns were also a hit. I think I could go and just order all the appetizers and be just as impressed. read more

We were just here for a Yelp event and enjoyed it a great deal. We got lucky with free parking. Not normal for the Old Market, so it was a treat in itself. The restaurant is huge. There's outside seating up front AND in back. Worth a visit while this great weather holds. The staff was courteous and professional as expected. Cheerful, too! It's got vegan and vegetarian options, so bring those friends for a tasty night out! read more

Gather is a great spot for food, drinks or both. They have a great happy hour menu and are one of the best places in Omaha for cocktails. I went recently to celebrate a group of birthdays. I had 2 of the basil smashes which were refreshing and herby but a tad on the sweet side. The mushroom toast is always wonderful umami bomb. The special appetizer of the day was the shrimp ravioli which was a group favorite. My entree was a perfectly fried piece of chicken on top of the 3 cheese cavatappi. Will certainly be back again. read more

Gather is located in one corner of Old Market. The low lights, mid-low volume of music and very wide space, it makes up for an extremely pleasant experience. The service was quick, efficient and extremely friendly. The food options are a mix of fusion concepts, with Mediterranean and East Asian influences over a modern American cuisine standard. Prices are a bit in the higher end and the portions are sufficient. Overall a great experience with decent flavors! The wine selection is varied enough to pair all of its meals. read more

Incredible food, drinks, and atmosphere. The fried chicken with mac n cheese and the pork buns are ELITE. All of their greens are grown in house in a hydroponic garden, and you can tell they're fresh. The roasted carrots are not something I would normally order, but I would order them again. We tried the gin Basil Smash and the Autumn Mojito. Definitely not a standard mojito, more cinnamon apple with a bit of mint. Perfect date night spot. Pricey dishes, but so worth it. read more

Amazing first experience. The restaurant is beautiful and elegant. Perfect for a romantic date night or night out! Their drink menu is huge. We came for dinner on a Friday night. We made our reservations on Open Table. It wasn't too busy, but we also went at about 5p on a Friday. If you do go on a peak time for dinner make sure to accommodate time to find parking. There is a parking garage about a block away if you can't find meter parking. Restrooms are available and also very clean! The Brussel sprouts were nicely roasted, flavorful, and definitely a favorite! Got the truffle pasta. Very fresh tasting. I would recommend adding a protein to it like chicken! Service was excellent! We will definitely be back! read more

I was first introduced to Gather through a Yelp event last year and have been back a good handful of times since - with all different groups of people for all types of occasions from casual to celebratory. I loved sitting on their back covered patio and the inside has several different areas of seating. I bellied up to the large bar on one occasion and had a full dining experience there as well. I have loved everything that I've tried there except for maybe the appetizer fries. They weren't quite crisp and didn't seem up to par with everything else on the menu. My favorites have been the Mushroom & Melted Brie Toast, the Crispy Brussels, the Truffle Pasta, the Elk Bolognese, the Fried Chicken with Mac and Cheese, the Vegan Noodles, all of the desserts and the list goes on and on. Basically, try it all - you won't be disappointed. Service has always been prompt and friendly with incredibly quick turnaround times. Easily one of my favorite spots in town. read more

Researched some top spots in Omaha while I was on a business trip and this one popped up on the list and it did not disappoint! Really awesome to see restaurants that support locally owned farms and source most of their menu from them. Their kitchen had a unique, open design to it so you can see some of their behind the scenes cooking and also a big hydroponic basil garden! I ordered the wagyu burger with a beet and goat cheese salad which were both delicious! The burger was tender and juicy and you can taste the different flavor of the wagyu. I really went out of my comfort zone on the salad since I'm not a fan of beets or goat cheese haha but I wanted to try greens that were grown right out of their basement hydroponic garden! Everything was super fresh and I thought everything in the salad paired great. Overall definitely a place I would recommend if you're ever in the old market neighborhood of Omaha! read more

One of the tastiest restaurants I've been to in a long time! Ambiance was beautiful, even with my one year old. Must get are the pork belly baos. I've had many in my lifetime and this one is definitely top 3. A good balance of savory, spicy from the kimchi and Fresno peppers, and sweet! Korean waygu was great. Flavor was all there, but I felt that our medium rare ordered steak was more rare than expected. All good though bc it still tasted great. Elk bolognese was ok. Nothing spectacular but still tasty. Wide pasta felt a bit too al dente for my taste. Dessert was the raspberry, chocolate, tart. Tasty! Would definitely come back again! read more

Modern Eclectic, Locally Sourced, Casual ... hit all my buttons. And a cool well done decor. Roasted Carrots! Fig Farro Salad! Heirloom Black-Eyed Peas! at the bar with a draft amber & pinot noir ... lovely complex flavors. great friendly knowledgeable staff. we were headed for The Boiler Room (semi-annual cross country trip) but closed on Sundays, so forced to find another spot worthy of a visit to a mid-country (aka not seafood) major metro. car traveling means light meals (iow shared starter, salad & side) as we spend more-than-typical time sitting in the car. hydroponic herbs & greens in the basement. will definitely go here again! read more

I had been here twice, the foods fits for a comforting mood even though it may look as if their restaurant is fine dining. The cocktails are a hit or miss. We enjoyed our time at this place. We ordered from the appetizer section because we weren't very hungry. The citrus beet salad was really good. The greens are from their own garden which we visited downstairs. Then we also ordered bao bun pork belly tacos which had Kim chi on them and were excellent. We also ordered fried rice which was tasty and for dessert, donut holes which were a disappointment after the other things we had ordered. The dough was hard and the dipping sauces were watery in my opinion. I hate when dessert is a disappointment! Hence, 4 stars. The service was excellent though, so compensated a little bit. I think I might go back to try some other dishes and avoid the dessert. read more

My wife and I could not stop hearing rave reviews of Gather in Omaha and decided to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary here. From beginning to end, the food, service, and ambiance were amazing. This restaurant does get busy so be sure to make a reservation through OpenTable. Make note that happy hour is from 5-6pm from Sunday to Thursday with discounts or half price on various popular cocktails, house wines, and select appetizers like the fries and Brussels sprouts. Even if you're not a huge fan of Brussels sprouts, give these a try because they're incredibly well seasoned and comes as a HUGE portion (so make sure you're sharing with someone or ready to take some home). For the entrées, our amazing waitress mentioned she had a Top 3: 1. Truffle pasta, 2. Pork shank, and 3. Scallops. The truffle pasta comes with a over easy egg on top and a healthy portion of mushrooms mixed in with freshly made pasta. It had a creamy truffle sauce and each bite made me want more. For those that like some spice, I requested some red pepper flakes to add. My wife absolutely adored the pork shank and said it was cooked perfectly. It's served over a bed of rice and lentils and includes some small jalapeño garnishes to bring some heat and acidity to each bite. Somehow we had space for dessert and the restaurant offered us a dessert for our anniversary. The blueberry cheesecake was incredible and the fresh blueberry garnish on top had some sort of honey glaze on them which made them even more delicious. The attention to detail here is top-notch. read more

In the heart of Old Market is this beautiful, upscale restaurant that ha sirs own hydroponic system for growing produce in-house! A neat concept with an equally neat menu. Here's what I got: - House salad: Gather Urban Farm Greens, Herbed Goat Cheese, Blistered Tomatoes, Pickled Fresno Chilis, Roasted Corn, Gather Urban Farm Green Goddess Dressing; is gluten free. $8 My absolute favourite salad ever; I'd definitely come back for more of this itself. The Fresno chillies really stood out in this dish and my only complaint is that I wish it had much more - though that's because I love spicy food. - Charred broccolini: Beef Tallow, Shallots, Garlic; is gluten free. $10. So well done, with the perfect amount of char all over, and when I added the hot sauce, it was a divine combination. - Elk Bolognese: Elk, Bison, Wagyu, House Made Red Sauce, Tomatoes, House Made Pasta, Grilled Baguette, Grated Pecorino. $29 So, so good - the gorund meats were blended so well and juice, and adding the hot sauce took it to another flavourful profile with a kick of spiceness to it. The pasta was a rad too al dente for me, but not a real issue. The grilled baguette was nice and crusty on the outside as a baguette should be. Definitely recommend this. I was a party of one, so I sat at the bar. Excellent and attentive staff. One of the staff was also the same indicated who brought over the in-house made Fresno chilli hot sauce when I remarked how much I loved the house salad that had some fresh in it. Cannot thank them enough for giving me a taste of the sauce. I walked here, but did see parking spots nearby. read more

Fantastic place for delicious food and drinks in the Old Market. We dropped in yesterday without reservations and were lucky enough to get a table outside; that being said, I would recommend making a reservation if you're coming on a weekend. For appetizers, we had the Brussels sprouts and the buratta. The sprouts were incredible, with just the right amount of vinegar tang. The buratta was well loved by everyone else, but I'm not a huge olive fan so I didn't love it as much. For dinner, I had the citrus salad (delicious although I would have liked a bit more goat cheese) and the pork buns (incredible!). The drinks were also quite tasty, well made, and appropriately strong. Overall it was a great dining experience with delicious food. And the fact that they have a micro greens hydroponics setup and that they grow all their own greens is just the cherry on top! Can't wait to come back read more

First time at Gather did not disappoint! We sat at the bar since we didn't make a reservation, which was a great choice because the bartender was super friendly and helpful. Quick and efficient service, and great suggestions on food options. Loved that so much of the food is grown or made from scratch in house. Really unique to this restaurant, and their quality of food is on the next level. We will definitely be back to everything else on the menu (sad I didn't get the Korean Marinated Imperial Wagyu, but I'll get it next time). read more

Last night's celebration over a superb dinner was nothing short of spectacular. First off, the service was excellent. Our table wasn't ready right away but that gave us time to view the garden in the basement of the restaurant! I got the fried chicken - the golden-brown (on the softer side) crust perfectly encased tender, JUICY chicken that was seasoned to perfection. Paired with (anything but traditional) mac n cheese that elevated the comfort food experience. Others in the group ordered the BISON SHORT RIB, TRUFFLE PASTA , KOREAN MARINATED IMPERIAL WAGYU, and the MARINATED PORK RIBEYE which I didn't get a picture of some dishes since I was elbows deep in my own! Every bite felt like a celebration in itself. The server brought our celebrator a complimentary dessert to acknowledge his accomplishments. The atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed, making it the perfect spot to toast to a well-earned college graduation. A memorable meal for a milestone moment! read more

All around a wonderful dining experience. It's been a while since I've been blown away by a meal in Omaha, and Gather did not disappoint. The format is set up more for shared dishes, but we opted to order apps to share and main dishes individually. The brussels sprouts and pork buns are delicious and would highly recommend those to kick off the night. I had the Elk Bolognese and the meat tasted fresh and not gamey along with the light homemade noodles. The service was a bit off during our visit, but that would not deter me from coming back. Visiting Omaha for the weekend and Gather was a must stop! I went here for dinner with my husband and it was nice. The atmosphere here is really great and you can see the fresh herbs that are used on your food. It brings the true "farm to table" experience to life. Downstairs in the building there is a full garden for you to explore. We ordered the pork buns to start out with and they were tasty! The actual buns were pillowy and so soft. I had the elk bolognese that was hearty and was filling! It was a great dish for a cold night. Their homemade pasta was GREAT! Our server was kind and she had great recommendations for things to eat. My friend and I decided to do a culinary "staycation" in the Old Market (I don't live in Omaha but she does). We came across Gather in our search for restaurants, and between the menu and ratings, we were certainly intrigued. The space is really nice and the service is awesome. The food was either really good, or just ok, depending on what was ordered. For starters, we ordered the pork bao buns. This was a must order. The pork belly was super tender and the bun was made in house. I could have eaten several plates. For our mains, we ordered the fried chicken, the highly recommended wagyu beef and the truffle pasta. Out of the three, the fried chicken was definitely the best. The chicken was both tender and the outside was crispy. The kimchi slaw offered the perfect amount of acid. The three cheese mornay pasta was essentially an amazing mac and cheese that also paired well with the chicken. The slight disappointments were the steak and the truffle pasta. The wagyu was cooked to medium-rare as requested but it was still tough and chewy. We think it was because it was a sirloin cut, which is not an optimal cut considering it was $65. What made it worse is that it was very underseasoned and could have used some salt prior to searing. The Korean seasoning didn't lend much and hold up to the meatiness of the steak. The truffle pasta had very little truffle flavor and probably tasted more like mushroom. That isn't the worst but it did feel like a splash of wine was added and wasn't cooked out, so it tasted a bit acidic. Regardless of these mishaps, I do think this restaurant has promise and if ever in Omaha, I would definitely give it another go. read more

We tried Gather the other night in the old Vivace (RIP) space in The old Market. Our server was attentive and fairly knowledgeable. The presentation of all the plates were stellar. For appetizers we shared the brussels sprouts, mushroom brie toast, and salmon raviolis (special). The salmon raviolis were excellent. My only wish for this plate was that it came in an entree size. The Brussels sprouts were delicious, but the mushroom brie toast was ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. While the flavor was fine, there was hardly any brie on the toast in general and for $15 there were only four pieces of thin toast. I had salmon for dinner. It was, fine, but the accoutrements were subpar unless you like consuming a massive amount of black eyed peas. Two individuals dining with me had the truffle pasta. I had a couple bites, and it was good. One individual had Mac and cheese with fried chicken that looked tasty. Although I did not try it. The last diner with us had the burger with fries. The fries were tasty and the portion was comically large. Overall, the ambience of the restaurant was pleasant, but on a Friday night the restaurant wasn't even a third full. Not sure how sustainable this business model will be, but perhaps it was just a very slow evening. Speaking of sustainability, Gather does have a vertical farm in the basement you can observe. Overall, it was a decent dining experience with a slightly higher cost, but I won't be running back anytime soon. read more

Food is a 5 out of 5. Service is zero stars. Our friends and us can't stop talking about how it's possible for a restaurant to have that quality of food and have literally some of the worst service - from manager to server- we've ever experienced. They were not busy on a Saturday night and now we know why. 15 minutes to get menu and drink orders in. Over a half hour longer, and after having to get up and ask - for bother of wine/drink order to come out. (Only 4 of us in our party). Another 15 or so minutes for two out of three apps to show up. Had to ask for/remind about the 3rd app. Still had to wait/ track down the server to put in the dinner order. Never came back to see if we wanted any more drinks...like it was really comical. Sadly, I just can't recommend for that price with that experience. Not worth it. read more

I really wanted to leave a better review for this spot! Last night was the first time I've visited and I'll probably think twice about bringing guests here despite the food being SO GOOD. I'm a farm/food nut and so obviously I was attracted by the local food vibes and the hydroponic farm in the basement. SUPER cool and wasn't what I expected. We went up and checked in. The host was super friendly and accommodating since we got to the restaurant about 10-15 min before our reservation. We were seated and watched a pleasant waiter serve the tables around us wondering where ours was for some time. Eventually, our waiter shows up and we proceed to have our order taken in what we were joking as the most efficient way (aka, no pleasantries, rushed, etc.). I immediately caught on to feeling like this person did not want to deal with us -- maybe because we started with two small plates and two alcoholic beverages he thought the tip would be measly? Again, the food was DELICIOUS! We had the brussel sprouts and pork buns to start and right after receiving them, before eating, our waiter visited us to check in -- and then we didn't see them for quite some time. I had wanted to try to bone marrow fried rice and get another drink but we wound up waiting for so long (well after finishing our original dishes and my wine glass was empty for a looong time) I gave up and decided to get the check. I figured if I ordered more food we'd continue to end up waiting for 80% of our experience as it had been, so why bother. I don't really require much from waiters--I used to be one myself, but this was a pretty unimpressive/borderline bad experience where I felt like we could've had a much better experience (and more delicious food!), but the brusque and ignored nature of the experience sort of blew the whole thing for me. We were both left scratching our heads and wondering what we did for this waiter to be so uninterested in serving us. ‍ Headed to a bar nearby where we got MUCH better service (and the bar was low at that point) EDIT: We still left a 20% tip because we're not heathens! read more

I don't know why it took me so long to make it to Gather, but I'm certainly glad I did, the food and service were outstanding. I was with a friend and we were looking at the appetizers and were debating what to get, our very friendly waitress recommended that crispy Brussels sprouts with pork belly added. These were absolutely amazing, great suggestion by the waitress. For dinner we both ordered the Korean marinated imperial wagyu strip loin. It was also great, but recommend adding the egg, that really put it over the top. The cucumber salad that goes with it was a nice accompanying burst of flavor to contrast with the steak. And don't forget about the drinks, we really liked the caliente wet made with jalapeno tequila, a nice balance of spicy and refreshing. The restaurant itself was nice and open, dark wood floors and comfortable chairs. I would tell anyone to check out Gather, well worth the price. read more

Gathered with my girlfriend for a cute date night at this modern culinary concept. The urban hydroponic farm in the lower level is impressive and the freshness shines in each dish. Herbs and greens can even be purchased straight from the farm! The Crispy Brussels were delectable and possibly my favorite item of the night with a perfect balance of salty, sweet, savory, and acidity. We added roasted pork belly to this dish which were literally tiny golden nuggets of happiness. The Pan Seared Miso Salmon was perfectly cooked inside with an essential crispy skin for a synergistic heterogeneity with the sweet cherries and spicy Fresno peppers. The Sea Island Peas were a bit bland and underwhelming - I think this dish could benefit from a different starch. The Red Wine Marinated Bison is reminiscent of beef and was presented as a nice medium-rare complemented by a Boursin cheese fondue smothering a sweet potato. Very unique and flavorful! read more
